IIM Kashipur offers 2-year fully residential program as its flagship course. Admission to the majority of the courses is based on CAT scores, followed by a Personal Interview. IIM Kashipur Admission to popular programs is as follows-

Admission to MBA and MBA (Business Analytics) is based on CAT scores, followed by a Personal Interview. The final admission will be through the JAP process.
Admission to executive MBA program is based on CAT/GMAT score (last two years) or Marks obtained in Executive Management Aptitude Test (EMAT) conducted by IIM Kashipur and performance of the candidates in the personal interview.

IIM Kashipur - A review from the hills

Likes

College Placements attract a lot of people for admissions
Student Bodies add a flavor to the college life
Various cultural and sports events that are held in the college

Dislikes

The Campus is very isolated and has almost zero accessibility to various cities.
The Campus lacks Badminton court, Swimming pool and can also have more facilities in it as well.

Prominent companies recruiting from campus, various roles being offered, highest and average package being offered

For Summer placements the students become eligible from the 1st semester as well, while the Final placements begin from the 4th semester (2nd year) itself. For the Final placements about 160 companies visited the campus including companies such as Swiggy, ICICI, Axis Bank, KPMG, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Tata Capital, Barclays etc. The offers have been made to about 250 students till now. Highest package has gone as high as 37LPA and average package is 18LPA including proflis like Product Manager, Marketing and Sales Head etc. About 75 to 80% of students have been placed till date. I plan to work well with a great organisation and plan to take it to new heights.

Internship opportunities provided by the college and stipend being offered

Companies that offered Summer Placements this year for our college include (stipend): GSK(1 lac per month), Puma(50K per month), TATA Capital(45k per month) , TATA Motors (35k per month), KPMG(50k per month), ICICI Bank(85k per month), TVS Credit (50k per month) and a lot more.

College events, various clubs and facilities available in campus

There are alot of festivals that are celebrated at IIM Kashipur including The Freshers Party, Seniors Vs Juniors Cultural and Sports Events, Diwali celebration, Onam Celebration, Janmashtami celebration, Prom Night, Holi celebration and a lot more. The library includes a vast range of variety books starting from the subject books to a whole new series of different literature, Current affair magazines and General knowledge books. The classes are provided with 1 projector and 2 screens, good pairs of speakers, comfortable wooden benches, Wifi availability and microphone. There are multiple Sports and extra curricular activities that take place including the Seniors Vs Juniors tournament, the Intra and Inter college tournaments. IIM Kashipur has about 42 student run bodies (including 8 student committees) that affect the life of the students in different ways

The fees at IIM Kashipur increases or decreases according to the average package of the college recorded the previous year. The complete cost including Tuition fees, hostel and mess fess for the whole duration of the course is 18 lakhs. Scholarships at IIM Kashipur include: Need based, Need cum Merit based. Since this is my first year I have been awarded an Internship at Tata Capital.

Students view on course curriculum, various topics being covered in the syllabus and examination pattern

As an aspirant an MBA would teach us time management, and other management skills and would help enhance our personality as whole so that we are ready for the real-world. The curriculum under the MBA course at IIM Kashipur covers all the aspects of Business namely Finance, Marketing, Operations, Leadership, HR, Business Analytics and others in the the first year of the course. In the second year of the course we can go with the subjects of our liking and study only those subjects. This curriculum makes you real world ready not only from the business perspective but as a person in whole by teaching you about the real life scenarios and how to act upon them. Only improvement that I feel is required in the curriculum is that we have a lot of subjects in the first year but we do not have much time to have an in depth knowledge of most of them, this should be rectified. At IIM Kashipur we have Mid Term exams in every 1.5 months and End term exams in another 1.5 months, a year has 3 semester

Students view on hostel facilities

Currently in the first I live in a double shared room with facilities such as a table and chair, a godrej almirah per person. The room includes an attached bathroom with all the bathroom facilities available. The quality of meal and menu can be considered as the best among all the Business schools all around India. The registration process is quite simple and non confusing, but it is quite expensive.

How one can get admission in this college?

The entrance exam to study the course of MBA from my college is called CAT, after clearing the written CAT exam, I had to appear for a Personal Interview, under the CAP round of admission. The admission criteria weighed each of the aspects namely CAT score, Interview score, Diversity, Work Experience and Extra Curriculum to a certain degree. Eligibility for this course includes at least a Bachelor's degree. I have not availed any kind of reservation, but there are some caste based reservations. The CAT exam is held every year on the last Sunday of November every year. The admission process should be more robust and bit more clear so that there does lie any sort of confusion among the aspirants as this process is the stepping stone for their future.

Holistic Review of MBA at IIM Kashipur

Admission:

I made it all the CAP colleges that come after the rankings of IIM Kashipur and also MDI Gurgaon HRM course. I chose IIM Kashipur because I had researched and found that the administration, gender ratio and placements were better than the rest. I did not choose MDI-HRM as I did not want to restrict the course composition of my MBA to Human Resources. The admission process comprises of a Personal Interview once clearing the cutoff requirement of CAP colleges through CAT examination.

First you get mail from CAP process then they alot a date for GDPI after that if you're got selected in this level you got offer letter from one college which are in CAP process and you have to acceptance fee that's all

The infrastructure is world class and enhances overall learning and development

Dislikes

The connectivity to the campus is not that great
Lack of indoor courts for badminton and some other similar facilities

Admission:

I wrote CAT and went through the complete admission process (almost similar for most of the colleges), which included profiling, GD and PI. The Common Admission Process is held for a bunch of new IIMs for the admissions

The IIM of the North

Likes

There are a lot places to visit nearby like Nainital , Jim Corbett etc.
It is a student Run campus so most of the facilities are available Inside

Dislikes

The commute to hometown is not easy as trains and flights are not available
The Roads to commute to campus is very bad there are a lot of pits

Admission:

I found the admission process easier (Level Medium on Difficulty scale). The process started with the CAT application form, then the CAT exam, followed by a call letter for an Interview and then the selection email. The Interview was mostly about my experience and scenario-based questions like how would you do in a particular situation, etc. The Main aspect of the admission process that I didn't like was at the beginning there needed to be more clarity on how the process would go on, what kind of questions would be asked, and mainly the timeline of the events(i.e. Interviews and the various mails).

Seniors were helpful in creating an environment where we could grow and learn.
The campus life is good and made great friends.

Dislikes

Nearest town lacks some amenities if one is used to city life.
Since campus is located far away, getting to the nearest town is a hassle.

Admission:

Write the CAT exam. Based on your percentile or reservation status, you will be shortlisted for the academy you want. For IIM Kashipur, MBA Analytics sent the personal interview shortlist letter. Selections happen based on the composite score taken from percentile, gender, previous education level percentages, education diversity, etc.

Life At IIM Kashipur as an IT Engineer student

Likes

making friends, socializing , attending events
working in a club called Reverb and organizing various events
Exposure in various sports , cultural activities.

Dislikes

It is in a secluded area & there are not a lot of conveyance available .
It is definitily hectic , & includes stressful schedule initially

Admission:

I personally think that the process was smooth but cumbersome. I got little time from accepting the offer letter to arranging all the required documents . Admission happens based on the cat score & personal interview.

IIM in the North

Kashpiur is near some tourist spots like Nainital, Mussurrie, Haridwar, Rishikesh.
The campus is actually beautiful, the sunsets, moon, the clouds and everything.
Student-run campus aspect as it gives more say of the students in the admin task

Dislikes

The location as not many trains are available and you need to book a cab from Delhi
There is not much to explore Kashipur you will explore it in 2 days.
The winter is brutal for someone coming from warm areas, it goes on till March. Also, during winters the whole city and campus is hooded in thick fog.

Admission:

The MBA analytics program at IIM Kashipur is more inclusive because it also accepts students from non-technical backgrounds. The eligibility is 50% and above in Graduation and the other criteria are similar to other B-schools. For the MBA analytics program, there is a separate application process from CAP, the registration usually starts in January and goes on for a month. There was a PI round after my application was selected and I would say the difficulty was low to moderate.

I like the vibe of this college, at the culture it has.
Diversity and equality is gives to every student

To far from Delhi and from nearby airport
Campus doesn't have much of cafes and restaurants inside the campus to hangout.

Admission:

To get into IIM you need to take a CAT entrance exam. The minimum required percentage is 80% for the ST, SC, and 99% and above for the General category. The application form is available on the internet from September to October and the exam is held at the end of November. The application fees for ST, SC, and OBC categories are 1000/- and that of the general category is more than 2000/-. For the reservation category, there are benefits of a little lesser application fee and a lower percentage required to enter a college but the seats are limited for them. The exam is mostly held on Sundays, and timings are also convenient as it has 3 shifts of 7-10 am, 11-2 pm, and 3-6 pm. If study hard and work on the core subjects that come in exam can ace the exam. The duration of getting the results and then for interviews has a long gap, which needs to be shortened.

The orientation program at the beginning of the course is very well formulated so that students get an idea of how their MBA life is going to be and be prepared for it.

Dislikes

There is no indoor auditorium or swimming pool.

Admission:

The admission process started from writing the CAT examination which is usually held in the month of November. The fee for the form is INR 2400. It can be found on the official website of CAT and the notification is generally released in August. The exam's difficulty level varies from moderate to tough. It happens only once a year. After clearing the aptitude test, interview calls are released. Some IIMs (BLACKIS) send their separate interview calls but for new and baby IIMs, we need to register for CAP. After getting these interview calls, interview dates and time slots are allotted. On clearing the interviews, an official admission offer is made. The eligibility of the course is that you need to hold an undergraduate degree with an aggregate of 50%. For reserved categories, it's 45%. Students who are in their final year can also write the exam but they have to show their degree certificate at the time of admission or whenever demanded by the institutes.

At IIM Kashipur, over 600 students can stay in the hostel, which has 6 people sharing 6 different rooms on each floor of a block with an attached bathroom and access to hot water around the clock. Every floor has a shared dorm. A washing machine, refrigerator, microwave, table, and six chairs are all included in the dorm. Additionally, the entire hostel has a radiant cooling system that uses less energy than an air conditioner to keep the rooms at a consistent temperature.

Every day, devoted cleaning and maintenance staff clean the rooms. The hostel facilities are overseen by an infrastructure committee made up of 14–16 students, who look into any problems and quickly find solutions.

Here is the classroom experience of one of the IIM Kashipur students who started in September and had online classes until October. The classes were being held in hybrid mode once a significant number of students had arrived on campus and things appeared to be improving.

It was wonderful to return to the traditional teaching methods of the classroom during his offline classes and learn from our professors in person rather than only through screens. Comparing in-person sessions to online ones, the level of interaction and student participation was significantly higher. Their teachers would cold call them to find out how we interpreted the case's specifics, so everyone had to be prepared with case readings and analyses.

Because no one can see what you are doing on the screen in an online class, you can do some pending work, but in an offline classroom, you must be completely attentive and responsive to the questions posed by the teacher. This made their schedule even more difficult because other tasks needed to be completed at different times of the day.

Overall, the offline MBA experience is unique and serves the true purpose of pursuing an MBA degree where the schedule is hectic and you need to manage everything at your fingertips by increasing your efficiency and working quickly with your teammates. He finds it to be an enthralling experience.

Yes, IIM Kashipur does have hostel facilities with a fee structure of around INR 1.56 lpa. And, it has facilities including sports, gymnasium, mess, cafeteria, library, etc. There are other wellness facilities too like Ambulance, Pharmacy, Medical Shop, Doctor, Counsellor, etc.
