The medical staff and counselor are available in hostels. The night canteens and basic necessity shops are within the hostels only and make it easier for everyone to make the purchases without leaving the campus.

Holistic Review of MBA at IIM Kashipur

Likes

It's a student run campus which means that important decisions regarding students are taken by the student bodies.
The campus is beautiful and lush. The architecture of buildings are well though of made to keep buildings cool during summers and hot during winters.
The campus is very happening. Several cultural events occur.

Dislikes

As the town Kashipur is not very developed, there is not much of metro-city life or such amenities
The boys to girls ratio for core program is 4:1 and the opposite for the analytics program which makes the class interactions disproportionate, It should be uniform.
You can't order food from online platforms here as the city is remote so one has to resort to the options present on campus which turns out to be pretty limited in number and quality.

Road connectivity is not good to go to Kashipur market
Transportation charges are very to come college from railway station or city

Likes

The pedagogy gave us a practical insight into business and its verticals
The infrastructure is world class and enhances overall learning and development

Hostel room sharing in first year which wasnt pre informed

Lack of indoor courts for badminton and some other similar facilities

Likes

Hostel Rooms are very clean and Mess Food is very Good
It is a student Run campus so most of the facilities are available Inside
There are a lot places to visit nearby like Nainital , Jim Corbett etc.

Dislikes

The Roads to commute to campus is very bad there are a lot of pits
The commute to hometown is not easy as trains and flights are not available

The campus life is good and made great friends.
Seniors were helpful in creating an environment where we could grow and learn.

Dislikes

Since campus is located far away, getting to the nearest town is a hassle.
Nearest town lacks some amenities if one is used to city life.

Life At IIM Kashipur as an IT Engineer student

Exposure in various sports , cultural activities.
making friends, socializing , attending events

Dislikes

It is definitily hectic , & includes stressful schedule initially
there should be more canteens & shops nearby
It is in a secluded area & there are not a lot of conveyance available .

Likes

Student-run campus aspect as it gives more say of the students in the admin task
Kashpiur is near some tourist spots like Nainital, Mussurrie, Haridwar, Rishikesh.
The campus is actually beautiful, the sunsets, moon, the clouds and everything.

Dislikes

The location as not many trains are available and you need to book a cab from Delhi
There is not much to explore Kashipur you will explore it in 2 days.
The winter is brutal for someone coming from warm areas, it goes on till March. Also, during winters the whole city and campus is hooded in thick fog.

Internships Opportunities:

The internship and final placement companies are mostly the same for us. We do have an umbrella placement for both the core and analytics students. Some companies float a Live project and also provide internship opportunities after completing it.

The orientation program at the beginning of the course is very well formulated so that students get an idea of how their MBA life is going to be and be prepared for it.
Professors are very friendly and approachable. They make sure that you understand all the concepts in a clear and concise way.

Dislikes

There is no indoor auditorium or swimming pool.
Also, the batch size is huge so double sharing rooms are allotted in first year.

Internships Opportunities:

It starts from big brands like ICICI bank, YES bank and GSK and Tata Group. Tiger Analytics, MAQ, Bajaj, Sharda Automobiles, PUMA, TVS and many more brands come. The stipend varies from 20,000 to 1,50,000 per month. The roles are of sales development, talent acquistion, product manager, marketing associate and many more. Summer internships are for 2-3 months and gives you a platform to work and gain real experience of working in corporates.

The distinctions between Ranchi and Trichy are razor thin. Both second-generation IIMs are performing admirably in their respective leagues. Here is a comparison of Ranchi and Trichy based on various parameters. Raipur and Kashipur lag far behind these two IIMs.

Parameters:

Placements: Ranchi and Trichy have remarkably similar placements. Ranchi's average package is 16.62 LPA, while Trichy's average package is 17.01 LPA.

Campus: Trichy, hands down, for campus life. Trichy has a modern 175-acre campus with all amenities. In 2021, the institute began moving to a permanent campus on a 60-acre plot in Dhurwa.

Locational Advantage: Both have a geographical advantage. Ranchi is near XLRI, Jsr. Trichy is conveniently located between Bangalore and Chennai. Trichy is also home to NIT Trichy, the best NIT in the country.
