IIM Amritsar Begins PhD Admission 2026; Apply now @iimamritsar.ac.in

The Indian Institute of Management Amritsar has announced the start of registrations for its Doctoral (PhD) programme for the academic year 2026, beginning 17 November 2025. Aspiring researchers and management scholars have until 28 February 2026 to submit their online application.

The application fee for the PhD programme is ₹1,000 for SC/ST candidates and those with certified disabilities and ₹1,500 for General, OBC, and EWS categories.

Shortlisted candidates for IIM Amritsar are evaluated based on their academic record, research interests, and performance in a competitive exam. Valid test scores include CAT, GATE, GRE, GMAT, or JRF (UGC/CSIR), taken in the last two years (from July 2024 onwards). Those who make the shortlist will be called for a Research Aptitude Test (RAT) and a Written Analysis Test, followed by a personal interview (scheduled tentatively in March-April 2026). Final admission offers are expected to go out by the end of May 2026.

To apply, candidates must hold one of the following qualifications from recognised institutions:

A master’s degree or a postgraduate diploma (any discipline) with first-class standing.

Certain professional qualifications (for example, CA, ICWA, CS, or CFA Level-II) along with a relevant graduate degree with at least 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grade point.

Candidates who are in their final year of either their bachelor’s or master’s degree may also apply provisionally. However, they must complete all academic requirements and submit their final mark sheets and degree certificate by 30 June 2026, and the original documents by 31 December 2026.

4. After submission, await communication regarding shortlisting for the RAT and interview process, expected in March–April 2026.
