The first shortlist comprises the candidates who have scored above the minimum cut-off in overall as well as in all the sections of the CAT exam. The minimum CAT cut-off for the batch 2025-27 is mentioned in the table below:

Candidates shortlisted based on their CAT percentiles will be considered in the preparation of the Pre-PI scores. The Pre-PI score will be calculated based on factors like CAT score, educational qualifications, gender diversity, and work experience. The Pre-PI score will be used to rank the candidates, and based on this ranking, candidates will be shortlisted for a personal interview.

IIM Amritsar MBA Selection Criteria: Personal Interview

The shortlisted candidates are called for the personal interview rounds, where the panelists evaluate the candidates’ academic background, quality of work experience, and other personal traits.

After the interview, the Post-PI score of each candidate is calculated based on various parameters that include the PI score, work experience, gender diversity, and academic diversity. The formula to calculate the score is–

Aggregate Score = 0.6 X Pre-PI Score + 0.4 X Post-PI Score

The final ranking list of candidates for admission to the MBA 2025 program will be based on the aggregate score mentioned above.

The final selection of the candidates for the MBA program will be based on the Pre-PI score and the Post-PI score. Both scores will be used cumulatively in the final selection.

IIM Amritsar EMBA Admission 2026

IIM Amritsar offers a 2-year EMBA (Executive MBA) program in a non-residential hybrid mode.

The candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree with 3 years of work experience are eligible to apply for the EMBA program. The total course fee for EMBA is INR 12 lakhs. The EMBA admission process includes the following stages:

To apply to the IIM Amritsar EMBA program, the candidates should go through the following steps:

• Then the candidate must register themselves and activate their account through their registered email ID.
• Then they should log in to their account and start with their EMBA application form.
• The application fee is INR 1500, and if the candidate is also applying for IAAT, then they have to pay an additional entrance exam fee of INR 1,000.

IIM Amritsar IPM Admission 2026

The Integrated B.Tech-MBA Program (IPM) is a 5-year program leading to an MBA with an option to exit the program in 3 years with a BSQFE (Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Finance and Economics) degree. The IPM admission process includes the following stages:

IIM Amritsar IPM Admission Eligibility Criteria 2026

To be eligible for IPM Admissions at IIM Amritsar, candidates must secure a minimum of 60% in standard X/ SSC and standard XII/ HSC or equivalent examinations.

IIM Amritsar IPM Admission Selection Criteria 2026

The selection process of IIM Amritsar is divided into 3 stages:

Stage 1

Only those candidates who meet all the following criteria will comprise the pool of candidates to be considered for shortlisting from Stage 2 onwards:

• (a) Meet the eligibility criteria for the MBA program
• (b) Have applied completely in all respects, including the applicable application fee.
• (c) Have appeared for the IPM-AT 2026 conducted by IIM-Indore and have submitted their registration numbers to IIM-Amritsar within the stipulated time.
  
  Stage 2

Candidates will be shortlisted for a Personal Interview (PI) from the eligible pool based on their Aptitude Test Score (ATS). The ATS will be calculated using individual components of IPM-AT 2026 scores by using the formula:

Shortlisted candidates based on the ATS score shall appear for the personal interview. IIM Amritsar also expects a consistent and minimum performance in the different parameters of Personal Interview, including academic profile, communication skills, general awareness, and extra-curricular activities.

Stage 4

A category-wise merit list will be generated based on Composite Score (CS) and provisional admission offers will be made accordingly. The CS will be calculated as given in the table below-

IIM Amritsar IPM Admission: How to apply?

The candidates will have to submit the IBM application form online at www.iimamritsar.ac.in and pay the application fee of INR 2,000 (INR 1,000 for candidates belonging to the SC/ST category).

IIM Amritsar MSDSM Admission 2026

The Master of Science in Data Science and Management (MSDSM) is a full-time 2-year residential program, jointly offered by IIM Amritsar and IIT Ropar. Those who have a bachelor’s degree/ master’s degree with 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA or first class are eligible to apply for this program. The MSDSM admission process includes the following stages:

The applicants will be shortlisted based on the information provided in their performance in the CAT/ GATE/ GMAT/ GRE/ JAM and are called for a personal interview. The final selection will be based on the composite score of the candidate, which will be calculated through parameters like the PI, previous academic performance, gender diversity, and work experience. IIM Amritsar Post Doctoral Fellowship Admission Criteria 2026

IIM Amritsar also offers a post-doctoral fellowship program. The duration of the program is 2 years.

Eligibility Criteria

• The eligibility criteria to apply for the post-doctoral program at IIM Amritsar is that candidates should hold PhD degree from Institutes like IIMs, IITs, IISERs, IISc Bangalore, NITIE Mumbai
• The maximum age limit to apply for the postdoctoral program is 40 years.

Selection Criteria

• For the postdoctoral program, candidates will be initially screened based on their demonstrated research potential.
• Candidates who will get shortlisted will then be called to show their research work along with a personal interview
• The final selection will be based on the performance of candidates in the personal interview.

Financial assistance

IIM Amritsar provides limited financial aid to its postdoctoral fellows (from the date of joining). The details of the same are as follows:

1. A consolidated fellowship amount of INR 55,000 per month.
2. INR 30,000 per year as the contingency grant to cover expenses related to attending conferences, workshops, the purchase of books, and relevant research activities on a reimbursement basis, upon production of receipts.
3. INR 1,75,000/- (upper limit) for attending one international conference.
