travel time from college to hostel was sometimes frustrating
the location of the hostel where convenience was an issue
the infrastructure was in progress so we had to attend sometimes in a temporary college

Internships Opportunities:

The internship opportunities in my college was one of the best. It provided a vast options to chose from irrespective of domain be it marketing or finance or operations. The companies were all providing good packages too.

IIM Amritsar - The Holy IIM, but know the truths before you enter

Likes

The learnings and exposure were great, faculty was top-notch, placement committee was not toxic.
The accommodation was great as of now as we were in transit campus.
There are certain webinars taking place every now and then with industry experts, these experiences have been great.

Dislikes

Placement opportunities majorly came for sales roles, no accountability taken up.
Food of the mess was not good at all, only a single dish on sunday i.e. Chhole Kulche used to be great.
The overall night life of the city was not good, people were rude and cabs would hardly take you to the desired places

Internships Opportunities:

Piramal - 50 thousand stipend per month for two months, for a finance trainee role ICICI Lombard - 60 thousand stipend excluding hotel stay etc for insurance roles in various domains Collegedunia - 25 thousand for different roles.

Good interaction with the faculties and the faculties are very helpful.
Hostel provided are very spacious and comfortable for stay.

Dislikes

The campus for the college is not yet ready so the students have to travel through bus form hostel to campus to attend lec which can be hectic as the lectures are being spread throughout the day.
Very few inhouse faculty staying long term here. Most of the faculty here are visiting.
The Buses provided for the transit from hostel to college are not in good condition which can be a hassle as students have to travel almost 1 hr daily by bus

Internships Opportunities:

Yes, hundred percent placement was provided for the internship. The average stipend was 90000 for 2 months. The roles were various and student can choose based on their preference. But once the student is selected they are not elegible for taking part in further process

Likes

Himachal is just few hours from the hostels so we used to enjoy our weekend in Himachal
Supportive faculties, like there are some faculties which are really supportive and will help you in any situation

Dislikes

Low quality transportation- The buses hired for transporation doesnt have AC, they are very poor standard buses.
The distance between College Campus and Hostel is 12km. So travelling is big issue. Poor Campus Infrastructure

Internships Opportunities:

Sumer Internship Process starts from August, You can sit in for the SIP. The highest stipend for SIP ranges from Rs.1 to 1.20 Lakhs and lowest is as much as Rs.10,000. More than 150 Companies including startups visit the campus. There were few companies which hired students for unpaid internship. So the banks such as ICIC, Kotak hires in bulk for internship as well as final placement. The Monthly stipend ranges from 60 to 80 thousand. Around 20-30 % People got PPO from their summer internship. So once you got the PPO you can only sit for dream companies Process, these criteria's are set by the Placement Committee and Chairperson of Placecom. Internship scenario is mostly same for every course except HR. Mostly student can sit for any company until and unless company specifies about any particular course.

Life at IIM Am

Likes

Environment overall, people, some of the faculty (teaching wise)
Activities that take place throughout the year
Case competition opportunity, become a manager opportunity

Dislikes

Travel time I’m bus daily, is tiring and hectic
Sometimes the environment become so much competitive
Some people apart from having good workex they are dumb

Placement Experience:

SIp starts from 2nd term itself. We have placement week as well Placements are good, companies come to campus Mostly banks plus marketing companies Tech companies have been in trend as well I'll go for job only 100% placement record In ours batch as well as seniors all got placed

Likes

The environment of the college really helps you get ready to face the corporate world after the degree.
The faculty, staff, senior and peers are all very helpful and supportive.

Internships Opportunities:

I have still not undergone the internship period as of yet. However, the college committees provide ample opportunities for the students to make it through the internships into well-established companies.

Some of the faculties are really good and cooperative
The placement scenario is quite decent for a Newer IIM.

Dislikes

We are currently operating out of a temporary campus and it will take two more years for our permanent campus to get build.

ICICI Bank - Management Trainee Intern 1.70 Lacs for two months. Adani - MT - 2 Lacs, Livguard - Marketing Intern- 80k, Arcesium - FinOps Intern - 1.20 Lacs, Piramanl Group - MT - 1 Lac, Dalmia Group - Summer Intern - 1.5 Lacs, Schneider Electric - MT - 1.40 Lacs.

Opt in once permanent campus builds

Likes

Hostel life, Faculties, Class Discussions.
Ample opportunities to learn, grow and network.
Interaction with students coming from diverse backgrounds.

Dislikes

Daily transit from Hostel to College is unbearable.
Strict rule on attendance (80%), else grade drops.
Not an immersive learning experience due to teachers not living near hostels.

Internships Opportunities:

Summer internships are relatively below par. Less opportunities. Stipends ranged from 0 to 150000 Per month. Various startups and some MNCs come for internships. Roles include Sales, marketing, Finance, PM, etc.

The Holy IIM

Likes

Sports facilities and recreation room for fun
Hostels and rooms allotted. Plenty of space
Professors who take avid interest in teaching.

Dislikes

No permanent campus. Have to go in buses to college
Mess food quite expensive but not as good.
Administration of college is very slow.

Internships Opportunities:

Internships are offered in diverse segments such as IT, BFSI and Marketing. Sales roles are offered too but no one is sent to 0 stipend roles. Additionally, the avg stipend is 70k for two months and roles are quite good.

IIM Amritsar was ranked 51st according to NIRF Ranking 2023. IIM Amritsar is known for its flagship MBA program. IIM Amritsar MBA admissions are based on the CAT percentile, followed by a Personal interview. IIM Amritsar CAT cutoff is 88 percentile overall. At IIM Amritsar, A total of 3277 general category candidates were shortlisted for the PI WAT round and 1100 received the final offer. The minimum CAT percentile for the 2023-25 batch was 85 percentile. IIM Amritsar MBA fees is INR 21 lakh for the two years, while the IIM Amritsar average package for the class of 2023 class was INR 16.51 LPA and the highest package was INR 36.25 LPA. Accenture, Amazon, Cipla, Deloitte, Adani, BMW, Cognizant, etc, were among the top recruiters at IIM Amritsar in 2023. IIM Jammu was ranked 41st by NIRF 2023. IIM Jammu is known for its 2 year flagship MBA program, which offers admission through CAT. IIM Jammu cut-off is 94 percentile. But the candidates who have a score above 94 percentile have more chances of getting shortlisted for personal interviews, through CAP. IIM Jammu MBA fees is INR 18.85 lakhs for 2 years.
