Being a new IIM, IIM Sirmaur is still in its developing period. It offers good learning resources such as Harvard case studies, Bloomberg terminals, etc. The institute offers a hands-on learning environment. You will learn through group projects, assignments, industry visits, etc.
IIM Sirmaur placements in 2022 witnessed an average CTC of INR 12.74 LPA. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 26.5 LPA.
IMI Delhi is better than IIM Sirmaur. It is a reputed and older b-school. IMI brand name is well-recognized in the industry. It has a rigorous pedagogy and a brilliant faculty base. Being located in Delhi, students get good exposure to the industry nearby.
IMI Delhi placements are excellent. According to the highlights of 2022, students received an average CTC of INR 15.23 LPA. While the highest CTC offered this year was INR 32 LPA. HDFC Life, Capgemini, BCG, Deloitte, etc. are among the top recruiters that take part in the campus drive.
I wouldn’t suggest you take admission to any new IIM if you are not ready to commit yourself to hard work both in terms of academics and extracurriculars. The Baby IIMs require determination and dedication and if you lack any of these, it’s better to look for other options.
The opportunities offered by the new IIMs are way ahead and unique when compared to the older ones. You shouldn’t join a new IIM merry to enjoy the benefits from the IIM tag because that alone won’t suffice it. It's better to take a drop year and target an older IIM than go for a new one that is yet to make its mark in the industry.
The new IIMs are suitable for those who are ready to work and toil and take advantage of opportunities in building a new institute. Most students will end up with a job but it’s not a brainer that there will be a big compromise and namesake job compared to the colorful careers an IIM brand promises.

You can infer from the table above, the Data from all the baby IIMs is similar both academically and placements-wise. So the final decision should be based on personal preferences and career prospects.
Compare the summer and final placement reports of both batches for all the 3 years. Look up the student clubs and activities on both campuses. They are absolutely necessary for your 2 years there. Finally, look up the professors in both colleges, majorly for the subject, you will probably be specializing in. Good professors impart their experience along with education. Keep in mind that IIM Bodhgaya, however, lags behind in one vital factor i.e., the number of students. In all probability, the students in the upcoming batch (your would-be batch) in Sirmaur will be more than if you were in Bodhgaya. A healthy amount of interaction matters a lot, especially because it's a business school and you benefit from the range of ideas numbers can provide.
However, the final decision is up to you entirely. Assign weights to the above factors and decide accordingly. After taking the decision, do not second guess your choice after going into one of the colleges. Make the best of your time there. Chase excellence in every facet of your MBA while you are there. If you do this, the choice part will cease to matter in a few months.
You should join IMT Ghaziabad. It is a reputed management institute with a decent placement record. IMT has an excellent faculty base, especially for marketing. Professors are friendly and cooperative. The institute has many clubs and committees, that you can take part in. The highest and average CTC offered during IMT Ghaziabad placements 2022 were INR 15.28 LPA and INR 62 LPA, respectively.

This program recently initiated by IIM Sirmaur targets students who want International Exposure. It’s actually a rich blend of the IIM curriculum and added exposure to international business practices, strategic operations management, and current issues in the European markets.
The duration of the program is 1 month. The pedagogy comprises industry visits and weekend trips which facilitate classroom learning and help the students comprehend the context better.
For a better understanding, let me narrate my sister's experience. She flew to Milan, the fashion capital of the world. On the weekdays the entire focus was given to studying at SDA Bocconi and weekends were a getaway for traveling and exploring. She describes the teaching method as spectacular. The faculty was very experienced and highly learned and taught them to find the solutions to the toughest problem in the simplest and most systematic way. The industry visit to Ferrari and Maserati was the cherry on the cake. She was also able to explore Europe's famous places like Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, Lugano Lake, Mont Brie, Genova, etc., and the marvelous architecture of Rome, Florence, and Pisa.
All in all, she claims that the experience of IIP broadened her mindset and perspective to see things from different dimensions. It provided a sense of self-development and made her realize that the world is filled with unlimited opportunities.
The new IIMs like IIM Sirmaur and Jammu prefer experienced work professionals over freshers. This is so that the B School can boast its profile in front of corporates during placements. Other than the IIM tag it has nothing to offer and is not in the league of well-established companies. IMT Ghaziabad specializes in Marketing and IIM Sirmaur is nowhere comparable in this aspect. I’m fact IMT Ghaziabad is better than IIM Sirmaur in all these aspects

The permanent campus of IIM Sirmaur is ready to move in but will continue to remain under construction, and the 210-acre campus will be fully ready with all the amenities by the next 4–5 years. The important buildings like hostels, faculty quarters, academic blocks, and the Mess building have become operational, and the current 2nd year and the incoming batch of 2024–26 will spend and enjoy their MBA journey on a newly built IIM Sirmaur permanent campus surrounded by lush green mountains in a beautiful valley.
The current batch size of IIM Sirmaur is around 309 as per the latest Summer Internship Report released by the institute for the batch of 2023-25. Out of these 309 students, although there is no such bifurcation of the Tourism students mentioned by the institute in the report, it is expected that around 50 students are from the Tourism Management Programme. Looking at the past trends and the institute shifting its operations completely to the newly built permanent campus, it is expected that the total batch strength for the batch of 2024-26 will be around 320+. IIM Sirmaur has already declared its results a few days ago and the students can expect significant waitlist movement in the coming days.
I earn 7LPA already. Should I quit my job and join IIM Sirmaur or should I reattempt CAT?
If you have less than one year of work experience, I would advise taking the CAT exam again because most B-schools provide the highest scores to applicants with between 24 and 36 months of job experience. It would be far more likely for you to convert to a better B-school at the same percentile, and your present package might increase as well. However, if you have more than four years of work experience, consider taking the GMAT and enrolling in one of the top executive MBA programs offered by IIM A or B. An EMBA program's sole drawback is that students' odds of switching to a new field from their prior career are very low. No, you don’t have to register for the Tourism Programme separately. Yes, the interview process happens separately but each student is required to just tick mark the Tourism MBA programme from the list provided by the IIMCAT during the CAT form filling. The fee structure will remain the same as the core MBA programme, but the overall CAT cutoffs will be lower and around 80%ile overall for the general category.
