All about my Academy of Technology Days

Likes

I like the campus of my college it's very spacious.
It has a lake at the centre which gives a aesthetic view.
College has more over every kind of sport so you can play anything like volleyball, basketball, football, cricket etc

Dislikes

The only thing I dislike is the hostel fees of our college.It is comparatively higher than pg's outside the college

The Placements in our college is moreover good.The placement percentage of the previous season was above 80% and The average package is also around 6 lakhs per annum so it offers a decent Return on Investment compared to other private colleges.

My experience at Siliguri institute of technology

My favorite thing about my college would be the library. The central library that we have on campus has a large variety of books on a lot of different topics. There are lots of books on engineering, statistics, even literary books
The college canteen is another factor that I like about my college. We have a central canteen which is like the main canteen and we have other 2 canteens as well. The canteen serves amazing meals and the food is quite affordable.
The labs are incredible. They are well equipped. We have labs for ECE, EE, CSE, Physics, Chemistry, OT, software engineering. The lab assistants too are very helpful and possess vast knowledge on the subjects.

Dislikes

The washrooms definitely have to be more hygienic and sanitary. That's something that the college must improve on.
A few of the lab equipments although are available but have been lying idle for a while and could benifit from maintenance or upgrading.

Placement Experience:

Siliguri institute of technology has a history of succession placements. The average package is around 4-5LPA per annum and the highest is 27 LPA per annum. As of 2024 several renowned companies like TCS, Tech Mahindra, Capgemini, Amazon, Virtusa, EY have visited the campus for placements. The no. of students who have been placed are around 220+. The placement is available from 4th year onwards. Students juggle between placement preparation and academics.

The library system is good. With many authors and writers available.
The faculty is helpful and coperative.The faculty helps the students in their studies and day to day problems faced in the college.
The classrooms are enough big to accommodate the strength chosen by the faculty.

Dislikes

The labs are not very well equipped. The monitors and PC are back dated versions.
The washrooms are not very well maintained and they stink.
The faculties are not very helpful in the project work and personal academic life of the students.

From 4th year students are allowed to sit for placement. Tcs, wipro, Capgemini are the mass recruiters of our college. Other companies visit as well Deloitte, accenture and many more. The average package being is 4 lakhs per annum and the highest being around 10 lakhs per annum.

I love the library of our college. It has a variety of books of various genres.
Our college is located at the center of the tea garden, making the environment peaceful.
Our college has a number of amenities like basketball court, gym, football ground, etc.

Placement Experience:

From 5th and 6th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like AMAZON, P360, WIPRO, GEMINI, NETFLIX, TCS, etc. hire a number of students for placements. Last year, a student from our college achieved a package of 51LPA. The average package of our college is 5-6 LPA.

Our college library is very big and huge and they are many quality books
Our college has cricket ground Football ground basketball ground badminton court
Our college is nature holic the college is situated in the centre of tea garden

Dislikes

Physics faculty should be increased we need more number of good and quality physics teachers
Canteen food price is little High We would like to reduce that price

From the fifth semester and 6 semester the students of this college are eligible for the campus placements they are various companies who visit our campus like TCS Wipro Cognizant Capgemini P360 etc the highest package from this college was 51 lpa in Microsoft and the average package of this colleges 4-6 lpa

Very large liabrary with quality books .
Cricket and football ground, basketball ground, badminton court, games room
ESPORTS Tournament, Tech Fests , other activities

Dislikes

Number of bus route should be increased .
They took a fees of 4500 rs for dress in which they give 2 tshirts 2 pant piece and 2 shirt piece, I think according to price it's not worth it for uniform

Placement Experience:

From 5th or 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement Highest package from this college is 51 LPA in Microsoft and average package is 4-6 LPA. The placement rate is above 85% in this college Companies like thought works, p360, TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, cognizant, and many more visit the campus

the teachers are not fluent in speaking english
the faculty members have no coordination

the placement rate in this college is 60% and the averge is 4lpa and if you are a scholer you can carck upto 7lpa the highest pakage is 10lpa, there aere classes held for developing communication skills

The teachers are very helpful. The whole faculty have always been very helpful and supportive.
The lab is well maintained with everything needed.
The placement cell is also good. They bring many companies and present many other placement opportunities.

Dislikes

The experience of Library is horrible. The library needs to be upgraded. The books are very much outdated. Many books are not available so they give pdf copies or links to those. And the available books are from 2010 or 2012 like from that back.
The computer labs are not equipped with AC. In summer it's very difficult to concentrate .
The canteen is there but no so full of options. And newrby shops are atleast 10 mins away. But new shops are opening recently.

Placement Experience:

The placement is good in this college. In our cse department around 8 to 9 people including me got placed. In ece department as I heard almost 20 people got placed. Many companies like Capgemini, tech Mahindra, Deloitte and many start-up companies came. Deloitte, Bentley and some other companies came but didn't recruit anyone. Highest package this year was 7LPA. After recession the Percentage of students getting placements decreased. I got placed in tcs and now will be joining.
