Course Curriculum Overview
Our curriculum is very relevant to the real world. It prepares us to face real wolrd problems. They are helping us in every possible way to cope with this cutting edge world. I think we just need a single improvement in the Physics section of our college by increasing the faculty as it becomes hectic for a 3 teachers to make 300+ students understood physics.
Internships Opportunities
i am currently in 1st year . but i can share the experience of a senior. in her 2nd year she cracked the microsoft engage programme . later she got an internship there as SDE. and later she cracked the ppo in microsoft.
Placement Experience
From 5th and 6th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like AMAZON, P360, WIPRO, GEMINI, NETFLIX, TCS, etc. hire a number of students for placements. Last year, a student from our college achieved a package of 51LPA. The average package of our college is 5-6 LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total 4 year fees for B.Tech in computer science is Rs.6,63,000. I have paid Rs. 83,500 as admission and 1st semester fees and for 2nd semester I have paid Rs. 71,500. I need to pay Rs. 76,500 for 3rd semester and 4th semester (each), Rs. 77,500 for 5th and 6th semester (each) and Rs. 78,500 for 7th and 8th semester (each). No other hidden fees are required other than the above mentioned amount. SVMCM scholarship is available in this college.
Campus Life
Our college organizes various tech fests and cultural fests. Our library has access to a number of journals and novels. The campus life is very luxury and nature friendly. Our college also has a number od clubs such as chess club, cultural club, coding club, photography club, etc.
Admission
I also applied in VIT, Vallore, KIIT, Bhubaneshwar and IEM, Kolkata other than SIT but finally chose SIT as it is very affordable compared to the others and close to my home. You can get admission through counselling and WBJEE score.
Faculty
Our faculty is very polite. They go bench to bench to clear student doubts. Our maths teacher, Soumendu Golui sir is very polite and helpful for his students. Our physics teachers, Banani Adhikary mam is very calm. She takes time to make physics understood to the students.
Interview Experience
No, there is no GD or as such discusssion for the admission. However, the they take a small interview at the time of admission. The questions asked were easy and were based on one's idea regarding some real-life problems.
Night Life
The closing time of our college gym is 7 pm. there is several hotels and pgs near the college. the food quality of the hotels are too good so that the health of the students are not affected. there is good environment at night.
