- Ragging is totally banned in our college. So no ragging.
- Some Teacher are very good while some are not as much. But here seniors are very helpful.
- This college is also under Techno India Group.
Dislikes
- Campus area should be much bigger. There is no places for Enjoying except canteen.
- Infrastructure would be little better also.
- This college should be autonomous rather than MAKAUT affiliated.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is designed by the MAKAUT as our college is MAKAUT Affiliated. And yeah our college is also approved by AICTE and NAAC, so it follows all the rules and guidelines provided by these. So in this case, I don't want to say anything.
Internships Opportunities
Some good and medium level companies visited our college campus in 3rd year to give internships based on your skill and projects. The stipend range is about Rs.10000 - Rs.15000 per month if you get in decent comapany.
Placement Experience
In the 3rd year, some companies visit our campus to give Interships. and I think after 7th sem you will be eligible for campus placement. In this year, until now, The Highest on campus placement is 12LPA and average is about 4-5LPA where the placement percentage is 30-40%. So I mostly focus on off campus placements...
Fees and Financial Aid
As I got the admission through WBJEE Counselling, I got CSE(AI & ML) in TFW (Tution Fees Waiver) quota. So at the time of admission, I paid Rs.60000 approx and after that I have to pay Rs.1250 in every semester. So in my case, My course fees is approx Rs.80000 in total for 4 years excluded exam registration fees, that is approx Rs.1200 per semester as it is also MAKAUT affiliated. Whereas some of my batchmates take Direct Admission or WBJEE Counselling, the course fees is same for all, that is about approx Rs.80000 per semester and Rs. 663900 in total for 4 years. Here, You can avail Student Credit Card sceme, provided by the West Bengal Govt. and also you will get SVMCM scholarship, depends upon the eligibility criteria. Campus Life
This year, In the month of Feb, the annual, cultural and technical fest had organised by our college. It was all about 10-12 days programme. And at the last day, Bollywood Star ASH KING was performed in our college fest, thats amazing basically. There have a large playground in our college and one basketball court are there. And some indoor games incl. carrom, table tennis are there. Gym facility are also provided by our college, btw I have not use it till now. In our college most of the clubs are there, including Photography club, Music club.
Admission
I got TFW quota in this college from WBJEE Counselling, so for this the total fees for me is 1/8th of the fees paid by other, who take admission through Direct or with WBJEE Counselling itself. So return of investment is very good for me. And another reason is Place. You're in north side, from where Darjeeling (The Queen of Hills) is about 60-70 km. So there are many places here for tourism.
Faculty
In our college, the faculty-to-student ratio is 1:20, where faculty is very approachable and one mentor is given for 10 students. In my opinion, I like Surajit Roy sir, he is an Electrical Engineering teacher in our college. He teaches us very good and clear all concepts in class itself. Otherwise Exams in our college is medium type, no so difficult and not so easy also.
Night Life
As our college has no hostel, so all gate will be closed after 7:30pm and it opens again 6:30am on next day. So inside college campus you can't hangout at night. But out the college, there are saveral places, shops, tea/coffee corner where you can just chill with your friends. As it is situated in Siliguri Town so you will get all the facilities if you have enough money in your pocket to spend...
