- Freedom …the college provides a lot of freedom to explore all the available fields
- Professors…all are highly qualified and educated
- Opportunities…we have a lot of clubs and societies
Dislikes
- No way to check our attnedence to make sure our attendence is above minimum required
- 8 am classes in cold winters …a serious issue
- Exceptional power to profs and thier strict grading
Placement Experience:
From 7th semester students can avail placements anyhow they can do summer interns every summer .
This is year in winter placements season around 989 placements have been offered .
Highest package of all time was 4 cr offered from Jain street

- No restriction in hostel and campus. And restaurant and outlets
- Faculty are very approachable and quality education
- Green and healty campus and no attendance.
Dislikes
- 8 am classes in winters. And every 15 day quiz
- Exceptional power to professor. And grading criteria
- No way to check attendance and less number of girls
Placement Experience:
Student get placement in there 7th sem. All major companies visit are college like google Microsoft all major giants. This year total 900+ offers are made. Highest package is of 4cr and avg is of somewhere 27 lakhs. 70 to 75% are placed and almost all student placed in top branches

- The authority provided to student representatives.
- Well planned strict academics along with multiple cultural an sport events.
Dislikes
- The toxicity that people pursue , their inner jealousy.
- Many students are drug and cigarette addicts.
- The haryanvi fools present in the campus who lack manners.
Placement Experience:
After 7th semester u are eligible for placements.
A lot of companies like graviton,Accenture,samsung, Microsoft etc visited and more than 850 offers were made.
Highest domestic package was abot 1.5cr while average package was about 25lpa.
Around 90 percentage of students got placed.

- Saturday, friends facilities system, freedom to the students, especially given a lot to ensure that the student is not feeling any suppression
- The educational system Properly planned and executed
- Most of the other student expenses very subsidised inside the campus
Dislikes
- A lot of work which makes the students feel a bit pressure
- Climate which is not convenient to all kinds of people
- Since the campus is very large Very far from the city
Course Curriculum Overview:
I choose this course due to its difference in the market and I am fond of computer science Are very Oriented Who definitely helped this students guide them in proper way qualifications of the faculty are very high

Placement Experience:
Since it is one of the most reputed institution of our country.So when it come to placements it performs far better than most of the colleges.Placements are offered to the students in their 7th semester but some students are offered PPOs during their internship.Last year a highest of 4 crore/yr was offered from a company named Jane steet.Average package mostly lies between 25-28 lac/yr.Many companies visits campus every year for placements like Microsoft, Google, Graviton, Sprinklr, Quadeye etc.This year in first phase of placement 984 offers were made with an average package of 26.04 lac/yr.I will also try my best to get a great job.

- Girls are allowed to enter the boys hostel before 12pm and vice-e-versa for boys.
- There are many clubs which gives platform to students to follow their passion.
- Infrastructure of IIT Kanpur is very good.
Dislikes
- Many seniors forced freshers to participate in events.
- There is mail to mail communication with Profs.
- Less number of lecture halls in campus .
Course Curriculum Overview:
I choose this course because I actually intrested to become a Mechanical Engineer
One faculty member per 10 students
Teaching method is good and proper study materials are delivered to students
After every 10 days there will be a Quiz or an exam and it is not much difficult

- The huge campus is obviously one the most attractive things
- The opportunities provided for learning anything you are interested in
- The seniors who are very helpful in mentoring you

- The lack of sanitation at some places of the campus
Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose this course because of the college prestige and the good academics of iitk. The professors here are very well qualified and all of them are very good mentors. In one semester there are two major exams midsems and endsems and a quiz before each. It is not very difficult to score good in these exams and get a good grade if you study just a little hard.

- hostel rooms are well maintained and well furnished

- it suffers a great disadvantage in placements due to its location
- as compared to delhi and bombay, kanpur has a few restaurants and hanging joints outside campus.
- due to tough academic curriculum, its is difficult to manage with busy schedule.

people get eligible in fourth year
several companies visit including google microsoft jp morgan etc.
highest and average package differ from year to year

- Teaching Methods , Sports , Hostal managment
- Talking to new people which are from all around the INDIA and even from abroad
- The clubs here are so fun and there are way more clubs then i ever imagined
Dislikes
- the ratio of girls is very low so i was not able to talk to a single girl here
- sometimes the seniers would not respect us even we have done nothing wrong
- the water supply is not that good here as it is our basic need
Placement Experience:
As an IIT we get a lots of placement and internships from the collage the placements start from the end of 7th semester. There are a lot of companies that visited this year like TATA, Qualcum, Flipkart ,Amazon Messho, Ford , Strip, and many more.the higest package last year was of 4COROR per anu from Chemical Enginnering Department and the avg was 26Lakh Per anu.

- Nothing till now I spent around 10 months in the college I seem nothing to be disliked

From seventh semester students are allowed for campus placement companies like Google Microsoft apple Amazon quant and all other named companies come in the campus placement for offering placement highest package gone upto 4 CR last year and the average package is 19-20 lakh per annum about 95% students get placed each year my plan is to secure a good placement

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.

The Earth Sciences is a Department imparting education related to the study of Earth and its geological reliefs. The best part about this Department is that every course here overlaps with some or the other course of other departments making it a multifaceted one.
Earth Sciences curriculum overlaps with many courses in Material Science and Physics, Civil and Chemical, and even Electrical and CSE. This provides diversity in the overall learning experience of the course making it very interesting.
The only major issue is that due to common courses, the curriculum is vague and has no well-defined structure and content. We hope that this flaw is taken care of in the near future.
The program provides versatile job prospects even in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, weather prediction, and geothermal power plants.
