IIT Kanpur ( ex- number one iit)

The reason for choosing this course was my interest to become a government civil engineer. The faculty student ratio is like 1:100. The faculty are highly qualified however their teaching method varies a lot, there are some professors who teach nicely whereas there are some who just read ppts and leave. Exams are taken every third week and are moderate to tough level.

A lot of internship opportunities are provided to students after sixth semester, however many students get internship even after 4th semester.The average stipend is around 70000 per month. Multiple roles are offered like analyst, consultant, data scientist etc.

After 7th semester u are eligible for placements. A lot of companies like graviton,Accenture,samsung, Microsoft etc visited and more than 850 offers were made. Highest domestic package was abot 1.5cr while average package was about 25lpa. Around 90 percentage of students got placed.

The fee is a bit high considering it's a government college. It is around 250000 yearly but the facilities are decent. However if you are ews or oobc or sc st then the fees is very nominal for you. Also the fee hike is very less. Multiple scholarships are available.

Classrooms are fully air conditioned with decent furniture and projectors. Sports and cultural events take place throughout the year and are supported heartedly.

Rooms have cupboard, bed and study tables. Room size pretty small. The mess food is above average and many a times good too, the menu is dynamic and thoughtfully decided by the student leaders. All sort of registration is online.

For thus course you need to qualify an examination named JEE advanced, along with that you need to have atleast 75 percentage marks in class 12th. To appear for jee advanced,u need to clear jee mains first , jee mains forms are released in November/December on jeemains.nic.in .
