I prepared for JEE exam and qualified Mains but failed in Advanced. Though I secured a not good score in the exam, i had to give up on the top colleges like IITs,NITs and IIITs . At last i participated in my state counseling UPTAC (UTTAR PRADESH TECHNICAL ADMINISSION COUNCIL) through which I got my present one. The admission process was simple and decent. IT admits students qualifying JEE mains exam which every student takes to get admission to various institutes of the country. If talking seriously, am not satisfied with this college but now I have no choice.

I prefer it because it is near from my hometown and i get this college according to my jee mains rank. Yes i got rejected because I couldn't clear cutoff for nits, iits, iiits.

I have choosen KNIT sultanpur over these colleges because due better placement oppurtunity, better faculty members, good infrastructure better than those colleges and good transport facility.I have applied to those councilling also but from my heart i want to go in KNIT sultanpur. Admission to KNIT sultanpur is based on JEE MAINS score and are processed further through AKTU councilling , these year for OBC students INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY branch cut-off is 78k.For SC/ST students it is around 2lacs.

- The thing I liked the most was campus,it is full of greenery and trees ,quite environment,It has a huge ground with cricket pitch and football poles,In the morning cricket is played and football in the evening
- Hostel experience was also quite nice ,I resides in MNS hostel which is the smallest among all the hostels , that's why it was easy to maintained , Although boys have eight hostels and girls have only one hostels ,from which you can guess the ratio.

- Mess food was so unhygienic and tasteless, although they usually overspiced but never made it edible but for the freshers the good news is ,new contractor won the tender of mess and his food was very homely and tasty,but my experience was not so good
- The administrative department is awful , they will just share the notice on college email id and rest upon you,if you have any doubt ,they just don't care ,they are always rude.and will talk nonsense or scold you instead of providing guidance

I applied for ABES gaziabad,for the Computer science and technology branch ,and PSIT kanpur ,for the Computer science and technology branch,as these are private colleges admission was near about confirmed,I just had to submit the fee and join the course in whichever college I wanted,but in the spot councelling i got allotted Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology, Sultanpur,Civil engineering branch and after considering it as second best college under AKTU university and remarkably less fee structure i chose this college. The course i was offered at private institute was computer science and engineering which is the first choice of every engineering students,I mean mostly,But the only drawback was fee structure, i had to apply for education loan to get enrolled in those private colleges, and my whole family was relieved when I was alloted government college, although civil branch was not most favourite one,but I started developing my interest into it . During that period for the admission,you have to give AKTU entrance exam after which from your score you will be allotted college accordingly,Exam pattern was 150 questions,50 questions Physics, Chemistry hemistry, Mathematics each and you get three hours in total for the exam. Egibility for this exam is class 12 th. To get admission in government colleges through AKTU entrance exam,you have be under five thousand rank. Over all admission procedure was quite smooth and easy ,no issues as such occurred. But now AKTU councelling is based on your JEE mains scorecard,so no more different entrance exam,you just upload your JEE mains detail and you and involve in AKTU councelling for college allotment.

Personally i woud suggest if you are not getting any nit or iit thwn definelty go for this college . In every aspects it is good placement rate is much higher than various colleges . Its alumina is very strong . For admission you have to attempts jee mains and have to score 90+ percentile for admission and 75% criterion is applicable here .

Can I get IET Lucknow or KNIT Sultanpur in the spot round of counselling in the UPSEE if my general rank is 12000 and an OBC rank of 3000?
I have friends from both IET Lucknow and KNIT Sultanpur and according to them, you will not get any of IET Lucknow or KNIT Sultanpur with this rank. Your OBC rank will not be of any help as selections in the spot round are done based on the general rank and there is no reservation. Also, at IET/KNIT, seats for core branches like CS/EC/ME, fill up first.
If you are a fresher then I will suggest you take a year drop and appear for various entrance exams next year and, if you are not a fresher then, you can go to other colleges. You will not get the atmosphere like IET Lucknow anywhere else, and hence, taking a year drop will be the best in any case. The environment is very competitive at IET Lucknow. Even KNIT Sultanpur lags in this case. The location of IET Lucknow is perfect for coaching for exams like CAT, GATE, IES, IAS, etc.

KNIT Sultanpur offers full-time B.Tech, M.C.A, M.Tech and Ph.D. courses. There are 60 plus 3 additional seats in each branch of B.Tech. 18 seats per branch are available for M.Tech candidates. For MCA, there are 60 seats in total.
The total fee for the Btech course is INR 3.37 Lakhs. Candidate should have passed (10+2) or Equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry / Biotechnology, Language, and any other subject. Admission will be based on the UPTAC.
