Kamla Nehru Institute of Technology (KNIT), Sultanpur was established in 1979 by Uttar Pradesh government. The institute is affiliated to U.P. Technical University, Lucknow. KNIT Sultanpur offers full-time B.Tech, M.C.A, M.Tech and Ph.D. courses. There are 60 plus 3 additional seats in each branch of B.Tech. 18 seats per branch are available for M.Tech candidates. For MCA, there are 60 seats in total.

The minimum eligibility for B.Tech is 10+2 with at least 45% aggregate marks and valid JEE Main score.
The minimum eligibility for M.C.A is a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 50% aggregate marks.
For M.Tech, the candidates should be a graduate with at least 60% aggregate marks and should hold a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score.
For Ph.D., the candidates should have a Master’s degree with at least 60% aggregate marks.
Candidates have to appear for CUET PG examination for admission in M.C.A, while for M.Tech, the candidates have to appear for GATE.
The candidates have to attend the counseling process for the requisite entrance examination and thereby will be called for the document verification in the institute.

KNIT Sultanpur B.Tech Admission 2024

The institute offers B.Tech course in six different specializations. The minimum eligibility criteria to apply is 10+2 in with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects from a recognized university. The application process is online for B.Tech as the candidates have to apply online for JEE Main and after the result declaration, the shortlisted candidates will be called for UPTAC counseling.

KNIT Sultanpur offers an M.Tech course in five specializations. The minimum eligibility is a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 50% aggregate marks.

Admission is done on the basis of a valid score in GATE. GATE is conducted every year for admission in M.Tech and Ph.D. courses. There is no age limit to appear for this exam.

The application process is online. Candidates have to apply online for GATE and then appear for the counseling process.

KNIT Sultanpur offers Ph.D. in six different specializations. The minimum eligibility criteria to apply is a Master’s degree/Bachelor’s degree/MCA degree with first division in the appropriate field of Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy/Management/Architecture from a recognized university.

The selection is done on the basis of an entrance test conducted by the institute.

KNIT Sultanpur Application Process

The process of application is online for all the courses except for doctoral program.

For B.Tech, M.Tech and MCA, candidates have to fill the application form online for GATE (M.Tech) and UPSEE (B.Tech and MCA). The form has to be filled with correct details. Payment of the application form has to be done online. Candidates will be called for counseling based on their GATE and UPSEE score.

The documents to be brought at the time of counseling are:

Allotment letter issues by SEE
Admit card of SEE
Orginal certificate and mark sheet of 10+2
Original character certificate and transfer/migration certificate.
Category certificate and subcategory certificate if applicable
Income certificate of candidates whose parent’s annual income is less than 1 lacs
Two passport size photographs
Medical certificate
Two sets of photocopies of all the documents mentioned above.

For Ph.D., the candidates can download the application form from the institute’s official website. The form has to be duly filled and submitted to the institute with the application fee.

The documents to be brought at the time of Ph.D. admission are:

I wanted to study at IIT Kanpur as I am from Uttar Pradesh and it is arguably the best college in Uttar Pradesh. Couldn't get the admission there and when i searched for private options, I got the option of KNIT Sultanpur as I filtered my choice which is based on fees.

Admission:

i chose this college as i couldnt go to UPES dehredun,CSE. money was one of the reason, UPES was too expensive, ranging about almost 30L for 4 years, which is comparitively very compared to my current college, which is about 5 lakh for 4 years, and if youre lucky you can get scholarships, which reduce the amount to almost half. Other location also include the illegal cultures going on the in the colleges which are on mountains, like drugs etc.

The admission is through Jee Mains and this year the opening and closing rank for IT was from 640000 to 72000 for boys and 82000 to 98000 for girls and for CSE it was around 57000 to 62000 for the boys The admission was through AKTU and I also had a chance to get admission in JPP Noida but it was government and autonomous which makes it more available. Being autonomous, preparation for higher studies is really easy as you need not to attend all the classes
