- With regards to training and placements the college is very good . All training as per DGMA and IMU is strictly followed and the placements for B.Sc is 90% and above . The faculties and instructors in the college are well experienced and skilled.
- The college is strict regarding alcohol and smoking and it is not allowed inside campus and regular alcohol checks are conducted . Discipline and safety is the first priority for the college.
- Classrooms are air conditioned. Hostel rooms are good . Any defects in rooms or any places inside college which are addressed are rectified.
Dislikes
- College doesn't conduct inter college events . Internal events are very less . The few events conducted in college has also many restrictions.
- Galley food can be better . College canteen is not good
Placement Experience:
The placements for B.Sc Nautical science in HIMT is 90% and above . The placement drive usually starts in the 2nd year (4th semester) and for girls 1st year (2nd semester). The companies which usually come for placements in my college are MOLMI,MOLTA, ZODIAC,SANMAR,GENCO, ONESEA etc ... The package for cadets differ from company to company and type of vessel.

- The faculties are very well experienced and there are captains who stay in the campus itself, so if there’s something we need they will be available all the time
- The facilitieslike labs, ship in campus, DB tank facilities etc are top notch
- The classrooms are fully air conditioned. There’s smart board. Overall everything is really good and also neat and clean
Dislikes
- Galley food can improve a little and canteen is comparatively small for such a big campus
- They are not conducting intra- college events and inter-college events is very less
Placement Experience:
Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements.
After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.

- System and the Rules followed in this college
- Hierarchy system such as committe heads, cadet captains etc
- Infrastructure mainly the football and cricket turf
Dislikes
- Punishments, because you will get punished when one of your batchmate did anything wrong
- Compared to other colleges himt is not celebrating that much for festivals
- Regular musters, You will have to attend minimum 3 muster a day
Placement Experience:
I am placed in MOLMI. And sincerely thank HIMT for the placement. The other companies who Recruits cadets from HIMT are Zodiac, MOLTA, Sanmar, Genco, Ozler ONE shipping etc . HIMT have good placement records of 100%, if you have no arrears then for sure will get placed

Course Curriculum Overview:
The GME course at HIMT is highly relevant for mechanical engineering graduates who wish to build a career in the Merchant Navy. The one year DG approved course combines theoretical knowledge with practical training. The curriculum is industry oriented responsibilities as engine cadets.

- good infrastructure,good gym,sports facilities, swimming pool
- faculties are very experienced we can learn more from them
Dislikes
- very strict about timing , punishments are there
Placement Experience:
The option is ,one thing you will definitely get placement from himt,after completion also college will help students to get job,if no also anyway you have mechanical engineering,do some job till getting placement or company,it is the main postive of gme after mechanical engineering

- The college is well structured and have so many labs like VR lab , Simulator lab , swimming pool , Ship in campus etc
- The Facility and the instructors teaches very well and encourage us to complete the syllabus
- The college is in a very good area with no pollution or any other disturbance for studies
Dislikes
- The college is very good there not any thing bad about it
- The weather conditions in chennai are little hot which will be difficult for students in summer
- In rainy season there will be more cyclones and rains then usually
Placement Experience:
The placement of this college is very good , there so many companies that comes to our college the give sponsorship to the students from 3 semester the students from bsc are eligible and for GME , ETO From the 1 semester they are eligible.

- The best part of this institute is the discipline and punctuality
- Good instrument and equipment for training purposes
- The accomodation is very clean and beautiful
Dislikes
- I have nothing to say about bad things because everything is good in this college
- Bad weather is most concern but also Greenery and beaches is good for vibe
- Humidity is too much something in a season
Placement Experience:
In second semester you will surely get placed and there are many companies which comes for the placement like Maersk, Mediterranean shipping company, Wallem, MOL, Synergy, Tom tankers and many companies visit here and take students

- During My GME Course I felt good about Environment, which feels me like HOME , All students from different part of India which make much more Social interaction between Students and Faculty.
- Grate about HIMT is Best Teaching and Training, Experience Facultys Guid the students Exactly towards the gole By sharing knowledge and skills.
- A/C classroom, High-class play ground, Gym also Indore game, Canteen Best Hostel all in one shelter we can Happily complete our course.
Dislikes
- Little away from city, location Kalpakkam
Placement Experience:
HIMT have 100% placements record also good thing about HIMT after completion of course also they call back the non placed students if they are not placed so this no MTI's will do, I also got placements from college, also HIMT having all Post sea courses all DG aproved .

- all staffs are we experienced in their field and good in explaining, very friendly
- hostel is well maintained and college is always clean
- everything works in college based upon the review system. so any issues will resolve quickly
Placement Experience:
HIMT has good placements rates to all the batches, espically for GME they are doing well good. many gets placements in first semester itself. many big gaint companies in marine industry are approching to HIMT for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:
Curriculum is good they provided 2 semesters actually i have completed gme course first semester in 6 months and 2nd semester is end of the course.
I didn't get any difficulty level on my timing of exams
