Training Ship Rahaman is also known as TSRA, is one of the oldest maritime training establishments of the country. The academy also grasps the sanction by the Ministry of Shipping Road Transport, Directorate General of Shipping, and Highways Government of India. The T S Rahaman can also be known as Training Ship Rahaman which is one of the oldest Maritime Training Establishment of the country (India). Duration: 25 Weeks Eligibility: Indian Nationals desiring to enrol for the 25 weeks General Purpose Rating Training Course. 10th standard pass from government recognised board with subjects English, Maths & Science with 40% aggregate. English 40% at 10th or 12th but with subjects English,Maths & Science at 10th. Or Eligibility: Pass in 2-Year ITI course (Fiiter/Machinist /Mechanic /Welder /Turner) approved by DVET; with minimum 40% aggregate marks in final year of ITI & minimum 40% in English in 10th or 12th. Course Curriculum Overview:
I chose this course because i love to cook and try and experiment new dishes on daily basis and i thought that hospitality management would be a perfect field of interest to fulfill my dreams. The faculty is too active and experienced in terms of teaching they help to clear out all the short obstacles you'll stuck to and the teaching method as of now is online due to pandemic and also they are managing it in a well organised manner by clearing out the doubts of students. The class ratio is of 45 students not that messy. I have completed my first year of bachelor's online so the exams and practicals were also conducted online and they took it in a strict manner so that students won't cheat which i think is a good way to promote.
Admission:
* Applied in ts Rahaman and got the admission hence attending *no I didn't avail any quota *The criteria for admission is a full body check-up with a minimum of 65% marks * I took admission while in the time of pandemic so all the process was online on phone call/zoom video call and admission payment was to be done by bank transfer and after all this, there was an interview taken by college professor which was pretty easy they just do casual talks just to know how good you can speak/communicate in English
Admission:
The admission procedure was so smooth like everything was well managed properly, the admission criteria included 60% as an average in PCM, and the age requirement to join was a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 21. The admission process was completely done through a seminar clearing out all short doubts, rules and regulations to be followed and many more
Course Curriculum Overview:
I have choosen to do Diploma in nautical scince that is one year pre sea course. It is good course. Only within one year of training in the institute after that one get jobs in ship as a deck cadet. When i have joined as a first ship i got total 600 US Dollor salary. About faculty in the college is good thier different faculty for different subjects teaching is also nice. Administration of the college is good. About the qualifications of faculty mostly of them were captain and most experienced and teaching methods were black board also with the explanations on the projector and lots of practicals. About the exams there were two semester during my tenure each semester we have to pass otherwise you wont be able to get CDC and rest of the certificates. Exams are not that much easy. You have to study a lot because the course is of one year and you have study more than expected. So try for the best.
Admission:
Teachers are very nice, hostel and food is awesome. Hostel is compulsory for everyone. There is a exam taken by IMU(INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY), You have score a good rank to get this college. It's one of the oldest college and know for its discipline, and also there is a nearby port where we keep visiting. The fees includes everything right from hostel fees, uniform and food. There is shore leave on Sunday where you can go out and enjoy, Rest of the days only in emergency situation you are allowed to go out, And sometimes there are overnight leaves also.

In real college is best but when we are in college everyone hates for one or other reason but overall after passs you miss college days and friends so i suggest you if you are god with everyone you get the same to you

Nothing bad to say and had a wonderful time there. The college management was always there for us. They took care of our needs every time. and I would say that if anyone wants to join merchant navy they should try their luck with TRAINING SHIP RAHAMAN.
