Overview of Indian Maritime University Chennai Campus

The course is of 3 years and syllabus in first term is easy.The syllabus in the first term comprises of what we have studied in class 11th and 12th . The curriculum prepares the students for real world applications as we will be on board ship as being in marine college. We have subjects related to correlate with the real life experiences on board ship. Exam level is moderate and time is sufficient

The placement ratio is very good in my college. I am pretty confident that I would get placement if not After passing out from this university I write some company exams ,clear the exam and attend company interview and get placement in those companies 80% students get placed

Fees here is not based on reservation. I have paid 152000 rupees for first term and this will be the fees for odd terms. Fees for even terms is 122000. As of now fees is constant from 5 years. We do not get any scholarship from school. We should voluntarily apply for scholarship on NSP for getting benefits of scholarships..

There are four to six clubs in the campus such as photography, astrology,art and craft,nature .Sports offered in the campus are football, volleyball and basketball. But grounds quality should be improved. Cultural programme is held in the month of November named Naugati

Hostel facility in the campus is very good. For cadets of first year there is one hostel building which has around 70 rooms .Each room can accommodate three cadets and each cadet will get two wardrobes and there are four fans in each room and if the power goes off generator is turned on within a minute.

The college I have chosen is Indian Maritime University Chennai. It's placement ratio is good and starting package is also good. Admission process in my college is First we have to write the exam named IMU-CET get a good rank apply for counseling and get admitted to alloted college

Faculty members in this college is not so good.. 50% faculty is good and rest 50% don't have experience of teaching and they don't know the ways of teaching. Ratio is 1:50 . Faculty of computer science and physics because they are experienced and they know methods of teaching. Where as Maths teacher don't have experience of teaching . Exam are conducted only once in a term of 100 marks 70 Theory and 30 practical
