Ques. Does Tolani Maritime Institute Pune provide scholarships, and what types are available?

Ans. Yes the institute provides various scholarships to students specially those who are pursuing a BTech degree in marine engineering and BSc degree in Nautical Science. The scholarship amount varies according to the student's performance. Scholarships are based on merit, need and financial assistance to students.

Ques. I have appeared for class XII exam this year. The results are not yet declared. Can I still fill up the form and appear in TMISAT?

Ans. Yes you can fill the form even if you have not got your 12th result yet. The only thing you have to do is while filling the application form you can leave the space for class 12th marks. The class XII marks are required to be intimated by fax or online as soon as the results are declared. Candidate will become ineligible in case he/she scores less than 60% marks in PCM and the Form Fees in such cases will also be non-refundable.

Ques. What is the syllabus and pattern of TMISAT exam?

Ans. TMISAT exam consists of 200 marks having 80 questions in total, 30 questions of physics, 30 questions of mathematics, 10 questions of verbal intelligence and 10 questions of non-verbal intelligence. The exam duration is 2 hours and 30 minutes and does not include negative marking in any section. After completion of TMISAT exam, the marks scored in the exam will be seen immediately on the screen.

A review about my institute

Likes

The area and its environment is absolutely amazing
The faculties and their way of teaching is good.
The hostel mess food is good as compared to the other institutes.

Dislikes

Lots of classes and lots of holidays in between examinations.
The time of restfor a cadet is very less.
Sometimes the hostel food doesn't taste good.

Total course fees and provide scholarship

Students get the scholarship according to the merit that has been released by the college itself. And the merit list is based on the performance of the students in the final examination. Only top 30 or top 50 get the scholarship. No 1 gets the scholarship of 40000 rupees and then an equal amount divided between others. So the fees of the individual semester is 275000/- rupees respectively which is obviously not at all affordable for everyone, even for me also thats why my parents had taken an education loan. The fees of girls is half.

12 th pass with 60% in pcm and 50% in English. 10th pass. You can find the application form on the Tolani Maritime Institute website. Application fees is 1500. It depends after the imucet examination. First candidate need to appear for the imucet examination and then after when he or she passes the exam with good rank than that individual he she can apply the form for tolani maritime institute which is available on the tmi website. Reservation doesn't happened here according to me. I exactly don't know the reservation process. See according to me there is no need for any improvement in tolani maritime institute. one thing they can do is that they take their own examination namely tmisat and after that interview takes place but the interview was online and according to me it should happen offline and also physical test should be there because there are so many candidates who are not physically fit. That's why they should also take physical test so that only deserving and hardworking...

The campus is lush green and vibrant. The hostels are clean and the mess food is top notch. Every kind of sports is available.

Dislikes

There should be more events in the campus.
Boys to girls ratio is poor. The ratio is 19:1 (boys:girls)
There are a lot of restrictions on students. They can't go out of the campus during weekdays.

Admission:

I applied to IMU Kolkata,Mumbai Port campus and Chennai alongwith it I also applied to AMET. I got selected in every college except AMET and I feel that Tolani Maritime Institute provides us with better facilities in every aspects compared to the other colleges I applied for. An entrance exam (TMISAT) followed by a personal interview is necessary to get into the college. Additionaly, clearing IMUCET is must to get into this institute.

Campus of the college is good and beautiful.

Admission:

I chose this college as it the best college of merchant Navy in India with almost 100% placements for every eligible cadet. The minimum requirement is 12th pass with PCM with above 60% in PCM. Admission is done of basics of college exam interview and PCM marks.

Working Schedule is very hectic, We've to wakeup at 6am and then attend PT then Lectures and all.
We don't Get much Holidays than any other colleges we get Holidays only after each semester which is around 3-4weeks.

Admission:

I've Applied to SIMS Lonavala which is also a good Maritime Institute even I got the admission letter but I chose TMI over SIMS because In SIMS we Only Get 1 Company i.e ESM which has a very long Waiting period , they show that Waiting Period is Zero but Waiting Period is There for more than 2-4months in Marine Engineering. To get Admission in TMI, You need To clear IMU CET with a good and Give TMISAT which Comprises of a Online Test and A 10-15mins Interview. Also You should have more than 60% in PCM and more than 70% in English For 12th boards.

There are nore than 40 clubs for extra curriculum
Library of the college is very good, prvides a peaceful environment

Dislikes

Doesnt like the dress code, we have to change it for different occasion.
Morning pt are very hectic, they are are not even schedule.

Admission:

I have just applied for this college only arather i dont had any ither options.. So i worked hard to get admission in this college. I gad joined any other govt. Maritime college if i was unable to make admission here.

Clubhouse facilities include squash courts badminton court etc.

Dislikes

Network connectivity is bad and sims like JIO dont work at ALL

The admission process of TMI is straight forward.. CLEAR the IMUCET exam CLEAR the TMISAT exam CLEAR the interview held by TMI faculty members Talking about why i chose this college is because it was the best option available even though i had other colleges shortlisted. Other colleges dodnt have facilities like workshops and were very unhygienic

I didn't apply for any other colleges because this is the only college which I wanted to join and my god's grace I'm here I'm really thankful to God .and also I did hardwork to be here.i gave imucet and tmi sat to join this college.
