What is the IMU CET 2026?
IMU CET 2026 is an entrance exam conducted for admission into various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes related to Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, and other maritime studies. It is held to select eligible candidates for courses offered by the Indian Maritime University and its affiliated institutes. Through this exam, students are selected for programs such as B.Tech Marine Engineering, B.Sc Nautical Science, BBA in Logistics, M.Tech, MBA, and other maritime fields.
For UG courses, students must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and also meet the required medical and vision standards. For PG courses, candidates must have a relevant graduation degree with a minimum required mark.

IMU CET 2026 Counselling
IMU CET 2026 Counselling process includes –
- The candidates who are shortlisted (either in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd list) would be required to confirm their seats by paying the fee. This seat allotment would be provisional, and candidates will be required to carry the provisional allotment letter during the document verification process.
- Counselling would be done in online mode, and candidates would not be required to present themselves for the counselling at a center.
- Seat allotment would be done based on the candidate’s choices, availability of seats, academic merit (as IMU CET 2026 has been cancelled) and his suitability based on physical, medical, and other related standards. WHEN IS THE ENTRANCE EXAM
The official examination date for IMU CET 2023 has been announced. IMU CET 2023 has been scheduled to be conducted on June 10, 2023. You can submit your application till May 18, 2023.
IMU CET is conducted at the exam centers located in about 37 cities in India. Students are allowed to select three examination centers of their choice during the registration process. IMU CET 2023 will conducted on June 10, 2023. To prepare for this examination, you must be aware of the exam syllabus and pattern, prepare a study plan according to the time available and your current level of knowledge, follow the study plan, practice solving previous year papers or mock tests.
The application process for IMU CET 2023 has begun on April 14, 2023. The last date to submit applications for this examination is May 18, 2023. You can submit your application now through the application portal available on the website of IMU.
To apply for lateral entry in the B.Tech Marine Engineering program you must have completed dipoma in engineering with at least 60% marks. Admission is offered based on the merit of IMU CET followed by counseling.
IMU CET application fee once paid are not refundable in any case.
The official notification for IMU CET 2023 is yet to be released. However, the registration process for IMU CET generally starts in the month of March.
