IMU CET 2024 exam pattern has been set and released by the Indian Maritime University. IMU CET 2024 exam will be conducted for admission into B. Tech, B. Sc, except BBA, M. Tech, M. Sc, and MBA. If you opt for UG technical courses, there will be a total of 200 questions. The questions will be asked from English, General Aptitude, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics topics.
There will be 120 MCQs if you have opted for PG technical programs, and MBA courses. IMU CET 2024 syllabus for PG technical programs will consist of English, Mathematics & one of Mechanical Engineering/Civil Engineering/Marine Engineering /Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering topics.
As per IMU CET 2024 marking scheme, a +1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer. This year, there will be a negative marking of -0.25 per incorrect answer. IMU CET 2024 exam is conducted for a 3-hour time duration. There will be a sectional time limit, and it is also advisable to not spend more than 1-2 minutes per question.

IMU CET 2024 Exam Pattern
- Mode: IMU CET 2024 will be held in online mode only or Computer Based Mode. Candidates should note that there is no option to give an offline test. Candidates will have to mark answers on the computer screen.
- Exam Duration: The time allotted for the test is 3 hours. The exam will be held in a single slot between 11 am and 2 pm

Important Instructions for Candidates
It is important to keep certain instructions in mind while appearing for an online test. Candidates can follow the following instructions in the online IMU CET 2024 Exam:
Login
- On the allotted computer, the candidate’s details (Name, photograph etc.) will be displayed on the screen.
- At the scheduled time (usually 10 minutes before the exam), candidates have to enter ‘Username’ as instructed in Admit Card.
- After entering Username and Password click on “Sign In” button.
Reading Instructions
- Read instructions carefully as they will provide the entire exam related information.
- Click on “I am ready to begin” button. The test will start at scheduled time only
- Timer count starts post clicking the button “I am ready to begin”.
Test Taking Process
- Candidates can click on the question number in the Question Palette at the right of the screen to go to that numbered question directly.
- You have to select any answer out of the four options, by clicking on the circle button in front of the option.
- To change the already chosen answer, circle button of another option can be clicked. In order to cancel the answer, click on Clear response button.
- To save your answer, it is necessary to click on the Save & Next button, otherwise it will not be saved.
- In order to mark the question for review, click on the Mark for Review & Next button. If a question is answered and Marked for Review, that answer will be considered in the evaluation.
- Submit button will not be available till the completion of the exam time. System will automatically submit the test after Exam Closure time.
- Exam summary will be displayed on the screen with Subject Name, Number of questions answered, not Answered, marked for review, and not visited.
- Please confirm by clicking ‘Yes’ button
Timer
- The countdown timer will start ticking down after you click the button “I am ready to begin”.
- Candidates can refer to the timer to check the time left in completion of the test.
