The Round 3 Cutoff for B.Tech is 1631-2025 for the General Category.

01 May, 2025 IMU Visakhapatnam Fee Structure 2025-26 has been released for various UG programs. The Academic Fee is ₹ 1.15 Lakhs/Yr-₹ 2.85 Lakhs/Yr.

IMU Visakhapatnam Fee Structure 2025-26 has been released for various PG programs. The Academic Fee is ₹ 2.15 Lakhs/Yr-₹ 3.65 Lakhs/Yr.

Indian Maritime University (IMU) previously known as National ship Design and Research Centre (NSDRC) is situated in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It was established in 14 November 2008 and is a Central University under Govt. of India. IMU was established as teaching- cum -research institutes under the aegis of the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, with Chennai as headquarters. It was set up to promote maritime studies, training, research and extension with focus on emerging areas like oceanography, maritime history, maritime laws, maritime security, search and rescue, transportation of dangerous cargo, environmental studies and other related fields, and to achieve excellence in these areas. IMU also has 24 affiliated institutes all around India.

Indian Maritime University (IMU) will be announcing the IMU CET 2021 Result on March 22, 2021. Candidates can visit the official website to check their respective exam results.

IMU mainly has 6 campuses namely Chennai, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Port Cochi, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam.

Moreover, IMU has signed many MOUs regarding academic and joint research programs with many International Universities such as:

Indian Maritime University Visakhapatnam Courses

For UG Courses

IMU Vizag only offers B.Tech as UG course in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering.

Eligibility: Candidate should have completed 12^th class with minimum 60% in PCM and 50% in English from any recognized board and also passes CET (Common Entrance Test) scores.

Candidate can also apply for lateral entry in 2^nd and 3^rd year of B.Tech, for which student must have completed Diploma or B.Sc. with at least 60% marks in aggregate.

For PG Courses

M.Tech and MBA is available in IMU Visakhapatnam campus.

M.Tech is present in two fields such as:

Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering
Dredging and Harbor Engineering

While, MBA in International Transportation and Logistics Management.

Eligibility:

Candidate must be Engineer graduate with minimum 60% in aggregate for admission in M.Tech course.
For admission in MBA, candidate must have Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks.

For above courses, there will be Common Entrance Test (CET) which will be committed by Indian Maritime University (IMU).

MY FOURS YEARS OF ENGINEERING SUMMED UP!!

Admission:

There was an entrance exam IMUCET. After getting a rank, we had to apply for councelling in wich campus or what course we want.And then pay an advan fee of 10000 which is non refundable if our seat in any IMU campus or IMU affiliated campus is confirmed.Then there is a requirement of a medical certificate.After all that our admission is done. We are provided an admission allotment letter and an hostel allotment letter afterwars.

Admission:

you are eligible for the course after class 12th just by qualifying imu cet. I had my admissions during the Covid period. Then, IMU CET was planned as every year but due to Covid it was canceled and we got our admissions based on class 12th results. After the lost came out we did our verification submitted the fee and got admission.

Course Curriculum Overview:

By providing internship and software laboratory which help students to work in industrial field. In my college they don't wave basin and model experiment tank. Which is helpful to understand the ship model resistance, propulsion and manoeuvring test. To learn this experiment college provide 10 days internships in IIT Madras for understanding the concept of model resistance, propusion and manoeuvring test.

The fee for the Bachelors of Science (B.Sc) is INR 6,75,000 for the duration of 3 years which includes various charge such as registration fees, tuition fees, college development fund, examintion fees, security deposit, medical charges and other minimal charges.
