Indian Maritime University Visakhapatnam: Admission 2025, Fees, Courses, Cutoff, Ranking, Placement

Indian Maritime University (IMU) previously known as National ship Design and Research Centre (NSDRC) is situated in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. It was established in 14 November 2008 and is a Central University under Govt. of India. IMU was established as teaching- cum -research institutes under the aegis of the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, with Chennai as headquarters. It was set up to promote maritime studies, training, research and extension with focus on emerging areas like oceanography, maritime history, maritime laws, maritime security, search and rescue, transportation of dangerous cargo, environmental studies and other related fields, and to achieve excellence in these areas. IMU also has 24 affiliated institutes all around India. 

Indian Maritime University (IMU) will be announcing the IMU CET 2021 Result on March 22, 2021. Candidates can visit the official website to check their respective exam results. 

IMU mainly has 6 campuses namely Chennai, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai Port Cochi, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam.

Moreover, IMU has signed many MOUs regarding academic and joint research programs with many International Universities such as:

2. Admiral G.I. Nevelskoi Maritime State University, Vladivostok, Russia (established in 1890)
3. Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, London, U.K (established in 1912)
4.  Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Dhaka, Bangladesh (established in 2014)
5. University Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in May 2016
6. New Orleans, Louisiana, USA in November 2016
