Likes
- The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
- Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
- The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.
Dislikes
- I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
- Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
- Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

- Boys to girls Ratio is very poor. 1 girls over 10-15 boys
- Yes there are drugs in this college. But student use good drugs.
- Fights are ofter seen in the college and student get expelled including me .
Course Curriculum Overview:
Course syllabus is revealed and updated. There are project that we have to make every sem . This project is called ELC activity. And in June July vaccination you can do advance project with faculty of thapar .

- My campus infrastructure is most beautiful thing in my campus
- The labs are awesome . New generation pc are installed including mac also
Dislikes
- The campus in time is till 8:00 clock onl. That should be increased
- Secondly the hostel in time is also till 8:30 so this should also be increased
Placement Experience:
The placements of my college are great .
The companies visiting to my college is same over past years . The companies had a good relations with our college .
From semeter 4 the students are eligible for campus interships.
And from semeters 6 the students are eligible for campus placement which includes ppo.
The highest package gone upto 34 lpa last to last year
Almost 70-80% students get placed every year.
My plan after getting degree is to experience coopate life and then i decided to go abroad for my masters .

- The things i liked about thapar is good boys to girls ratio .There is good infrastructure and labs in campus .The hostel are good and laundry and mess fees are also good .the hostel infrastructure is a class and all rooms are fully air conditioned .
- The sports facilities are a class and all games are there like football ,cricket, basketball, volleyball, tennis ,lawn tennis etc .There are regular sports tournament luke interyear,interbranch ,inter hostel .every games have good sports ground and
Dislikes
- Things i dislike are the colledge attendance and bad faculty to students ratio .for every 50 teachers there is one student which is therefore a bad ratio .The attendance required is 75 percent in per subject which is difiicult as there are 7 subjects
Placement Experience:
The placements of thapar are generally considered good .The average package is considered to be close to 10 lakhs for core computer science branches and 7 to 8 pakhs for other branches
The companies are good and not mass recruiter

- Good infrastructure all around the campus
- Good boys to girl ratio which is about 1:1
- Good faculty and hostel accommodation along with good rooms

- The mess food is not likeable and the mess menu is also not good
- The location of hostel is far away from all the classes
- The campus is very big and the ways of travelling are very less

The placement ratio of college is certainly goid and the percentage of students places is about ninety five percent and also due to good name of college one gets very good off canpus placemnt and internship opportunities

- Hostel facilities are really good. Two hostel rooms connected with washrooms gives feel like a royal hotel room. And is very good to stay in
- Library is amazing. Very huge and environment in library is at a very good level and worth studying in thapar.
- Nirvana park is a good spot to hang out in evening as there is a small waterfall lake in it with lights which looks amazing in evening time especially. Good place to hang out.
Dislikes
- They charge high fees for every single activity. Fees is really high i think otherwise all things are on point for me
- Strict Action policies. If administration finds you fighting or doing illegal stuff in campus premises then strict action is taken on you like hostel expulsion or academic action or suspension.
- 50% Punjab reservations. Due to which a lot of students who don't deserve this college also get admission in thapar.
Placement Experience:
Placement is the only reason due to which I am in thapar. Placement are great. As this year placements started 1 month ago and nearly about 400 students are already placed with great packages like 18 LPA , 22 LPA.

- Hostel life and hostel rooms:- clean and a lot of facilities available
- The campus is clean and big enough to enjoy nature
- Professors are very experienced and supportive for students

- Timings of hostel and campus are restrictive
- The rules against students are a little harsh
- The attendance criteria hinders students from developing their external skills
Course Curriculum Overview:
The syllabus is vast enough to set the base standards for future engineers.
Professors guide at each step and are cery experiences . Labs are well equiped and teachers are adjusting . The sport facilities also help in relaxing after long study hours.

- College aspects which i like is it's very beautiful campus but ln other hand development fees is too high
- I am at good positions in societies which has for sure given me confidence with social interactions.
- Faculty here are good and qualified but way to orthodox so you've to study yourself to get what taught
Dislikes
- Placements are provided but it's under beauty quota not based on skills
- The course curriculum is i feel not making me feel that it has worth in my life.
- Infrastructure is very good but is not long term. The hostel are full of moisture and sometimes water falls from ceiling
Placement Experience:
From third semester, students get eligible for campus placements. We have here apple microsoft amazon as well and they do make offers too and get kids from here. Average package is 12 to 14 lpa and last year highest package was 1.25 cr per annum. 80 percent students gets placed. I am into marketing and finance so i would do mba in one of those

- Faculty and teachers of this college are good and being supportive
- Campus area is fantastic and sports facilities are excellent
- There is no extra fees for sports facilities and medical supplies and treatment are free
Dislikes
- Cleaning though hostel rooms and clusters are nice and cozy there is a problem of regular cleaning
- No induction and other electronics are allowed and provider by college
- Class size as they are inc. the student intake

The average package for coe branch is around 14 lpa
And many tech giants visit the campus for placement like Microsoft Google Adobe delloid

- I have liked the infrastructure, mainly I have liked the library. It has a very good infrastructure. Overall, the college has also very good infrastructure, but I have liked the library more.
Dislikes
- The thing I disliked about this colleges that they have provided a fresh event which is of one month, but due to some reasons that was in previous year, it was of one week but 2024. It was going to happen of one month so for that reason, our Saturday
Placement Experience:
Yeah, the placements are pretty decent, yeah, but but people got 55,00,00 maximum placement last year and two students got above 1CR package but that was of campus. Yeah, you got you can get placement of a higher salary package but the main Moto or reason can we say that for getting a high cent package is that you have to focus on your skill you have to create your skill. You have to make yourself better. You have to discipline so that you can get a better GPS so at the end you can sit in all companies if you will have a greater CGP, you can sit in all companies.

- The college is really good there are many opportunities.i Guess there is nothing that I dislike about the college.
- One thing that can I say that after 8:30 hostel and library are closed that could be a minus point
- But in opinion in every perspective college is really good

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.
Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.
However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.
Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University offers a good MCA program. The institute has a brilliant MCA faculty base. It offers good learning resources, and laboratory facilities to meet the requirement of students.
Thapar University placement highlights show the average CTC offered to MCA students is around INR 7 LPA. While the highest CTC offered is around INR 8 LPA. TCS, Infosys, and Fidelity are among the major recruiters in the placement drive.
