The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

Thanks for sharing my ideas about my college with you

Class rooms and study material and department
Way of teaching all teachers are iitans and have an experience of 10 years min.
Infrastructure is also good there are many department according to your stream

Dislikes

There is an in time on that tine we have to enter in college and that is 8pm
Hostels also have in time that is 8:30 means you don't have time to enjoy college
There is an time for order also after 11pm you can't order and thing like domino's etc

Form semester 6 student started getting placements. Sorry i have no idea of companies which comes. Highest package is like something 20 lakh in biotech i think and minimum is 5 -6 Approx 70-80 percent gets placement.

Likes

The infrastructure of campus is fantastic.
The professors' knowledge is superb, like they know too much and so helpful.
The placements statistics are great, the placement ratio and numbers are awesome

Dislikes

Sports facility is very bad as there is only 1 badminton indoor court for whole campus.
The hook-up culture in thapar is very bad.
The fees of Thapar for the facilities they provide is too much.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am interested in computers. The curicullum from second year is relevant for the real-world. I think they should review 1st year course and remove chemistry, manpro, environement from first year, Classes are 4 times a day of 1 hour each and approx. 5 days a week.

experience of faculty and have atleast phd holders in their respected field.
infrastructure is top notch and all facalities
campus life is really good and there are loads of clubs.

Dislikes

hostel for first years is not very good but are nice .
fees is a bit high as compared to other colleges
there may be a bit cultural difference but overall its good

Placement Experience:

last year highest package was around 54+ lpa , which is on campus , offcamous 2 students got 1.2 cr package , average was around 13 lpa and mean was 11.9 lpa . for computer related branches its more the average.

Thapar University: Premier Choice with Outstanding Placements and Vibrant Campus Life

Likes

The faculty at this institute are highly qualified and dedicated to sharing their knowledge for the benefit of the students.
Campus life as well as the social interaction is quite good.
Infrastructure is the best including the library, housed in a centrally air-conditioned, architecturally appealing building, operates 24/7, 365 days a year.

Dislikes

The only thing I don’t like is the increasing fees.

During the Thapar University 2023 placement season, 83% of the undergraduate students secured job offers. The highest salary package offered was INR 55.75 LPA, while the average package stood at 11.90 LPA. Top recruiters included Zomato, Deloitte, IBM, JP Morgan Chase and Co., Samsung, Infosys, Larsen & Toubro, Maruti Suzuki, Microsoft.

Likes

The campus is filled with people from different backgrounds.
The campus is fully equipped with good technologies and machines.
The placements of this campus is extraordinary.

Dislikes

The reservation for Punjab students could be unfair to other students.
Some faculties are not interested or good enough to teach.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for internships in third year and for placements in the fourth year. Many companies have visited this campus this year including Google And Amazon. A good percentage of students gets placed here

Good Professors, Very Good Infrastructure, Very Happening College Life, A little Expensive

Very good professors, very humble and helpful
very big campus, awesome infrastructure with parks and markets inside campus
Amazing college life, events take places regularly. Societies and clubs are awesome

Dislikes

Some may fees it a little expensive but trust me its worth it.
high competition as everybody here are very ambitious
difficult exams, students get stressed, some get failed also

Placement Experience:

I have talked to some 4th year students of CSE and COE branches and most of them have recieved their PPO with avg package of 16-17LPA. students also got placed at Apple , google and in multiple TECH giants. while a total avg package is 12LPA. Some students have already started their startups.

The best part about college is that even though you do not come from a commerce or a BBA background even then the teachers are so supportive that they are going to provide you the best day can so that you don't feel neglected .
The second best part is that we have to launch our own ventures in the campus itself and sell are products so that we have a live idea of how MBA works and that prepare just for a really competitive world outside.
The faculty gives your best to engage students in glass participations and they provide a very comfortable environment and students take a very good hold of it be also have case study sessions which is the best part.

Dislikes

Nothing as such that I dislike about college it is located in an industrial area so sometimes of foul smell that comes in the environment the but that's ok .

Placement Experience:

The placements of my college of pretty good like the highest package has been continuously increasing in the last odios up to 12:00 p.m. in the last 3 years it has gone from 23 lpa to 27 LPS and we are open that it will again increase in the coming placement. We are actually eligible to set for placements from the second semester itself but particularly speaking about the interviews that the companies take we are eligible to set after exactly after as summer placements even some students get ppo's as the come out of there summer placements so it is basically the second semester where you are eligible to take. Till now there are around 7 to 8 companies that have visited since it is just beginning of the placement sessions Deloitte ,Accenture, Nestle, Hyundai ,Oxane partners are the company that have visited. There is a pretty good number of students were getting placed like out of the hundred students that start for placements recently about 70 to 80% of them had got them place 10% of them will be joining back to the family business and the rest are going to still appear for the placement study till the end of there MBA program. My plans after getting the degree is that I want to work incorporate for a few years and then launch my own startup.

Review of Thapar

Likes

The infrastructure of thapar is top notch. One of the bests in the country.
The Nava Nalanda Library is a wonder of modern architecture, it is really amazing and also the amount of books amd accesiblity to them is wonderful.
The seniors and networking through thapar is one of the bests, no ragging culture exists, majority seniors are super helpful.

Dislikes

The amount of students that are in the college is a concern.
I know it is for the safety of the students only, but restricting the entry time is a huge con for me.
The start up culture is quite dead here as compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college works for the students and offers several placement on campus. From the 5th semester onwards summer internships are offered to many deserving students. Several companies visit thapar for recruitment. Some of them are, amazon, apple, microsoft, google, rubrik, jp morgan chase, bains and complany, suzuki, abd many more. Around 50-70 percent students get placed on campus.

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
