What Students Say
Likes
- i feel that here the teaching staff is well educated and very professional
- the infrastructure is very beautiful and well maintained
- The campus place is very safe even for girls and here the rules are made sure that they are followed strictly
Dislikes
- i believe that the Student intake in computer branch is high which can be a disadvantage in case of placement opportunities
- here a lot of construction goes on all the time
- hostel to classes distance is too much sometimes that we get late for classes
Course Curriculum Overview
the course might not seem very relevant in the first as there's only one subject related to coding but the core subjects taught in the first year are very important with respect to every branch and the course really prepares you well for the real world challenges as it is very precise about the requirements of the industry.there are exams mostly every month as we have sessionals and quizzes that are considered in the final result which make it a bit hectic along with all the extra stuff we've to do
Internships Opportunities
there are many internship opportunities and companies such as BlackRock and jp morgan usually visit the campus for internships also there are many start-ups that provide for internships founded by thapar alumini
Placement Experience
the campus placements are very good considering a private college, if you're focused on what you're doing then the college can provide you with great placement opportunities.big names such as Google ,apple ,microsoft,jp morgan and others visit the campus every year and the alumni network is so strong that it helps the students crack off campus placements as well
Fees and Financial Aid
for first year my fees for first and second semester was 2,38,000. Then it increased in second year to 2,61,000. there are charges like tution fees medical fees examination fees development fees etc. Also fees for non computer branches are little less. scholarships are also available like merit cum means and on the basis of your cgpa and jee percentile and 12th board marks. alumni scholarships are also available
Campus Life
the biggest fest of North India Saturnalia is held in thapar in the month of November and it is considered one of the best along with this many events and workshops are held on daily basis organised by various socities the sports facilities are very good there are socities for every single thing you can think of
Hostel Facilities
the rooms are very clean clean and spacious and well lit along with the managers and caretakers that take good care of the mess meals and the registrations are simple for the hostels informed during the time of admission
Admission
i choose this college over all the other private Colleges for the reason that the Student intake here is comparatively very less as compared to the other colleges.also the placement are way better here i couldn't get computers in a reputed goverment college so thapar was the best choice for me admission here is done on the basis of boards and jee both and the cutoff is usually high for every branch
Faculty
the faculty to student is very good. Here we have professors, assistant professors, higher authorities and even the PhD students.the ratio is approximately equal to 15:1.the professors are very approachable and they maintain a friendly and professional relationship at same time. Some are very helpful.the teaching style is very interactive.my favourite teacher here is sk Aggarwal sir as he gives the best advice. There are exams for every subject. In first year we had total of 10 subjects,5 each in every sem.the course is very relevant and the exams are difficult to clear but becomes easy if you're attentive in lectures
