The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

Thapar As A Miracle

I have liked the infrastructure, mainly I have liked the library. It has a very good infrastructure. Overall, the college has also very good infrastructure, but I have liked the library more.

Dislikes

The thing I disliked about this colleges that they have provided a fresh event which is of one month, but due to some reasons that was in previous year, it was of one week but 2024. It was going to happen of one month so for that reason, our Saturday

Placement Experience:

Yeah, the placements are pretty decent, yeah, but but people got 55,00,00 maximum placement last year and two students got above 1CR package but that was of campus. Yeah, you got you can get placement of a higher salary package but the main Moto or reason can we say that for getting a high cent package is that you have to focus on your skill you have to create your skill. You have to make yourself better. You have to discipline so that you can get a better GPS so at the end you can sit in all companies if you will have a greater CGP, you can sit in all companies.

The infrastructure of the college is gorgeous you definitely gonna love with it.
The placement opportunities in this college also awasome like google, Microsoft, Apple all top companies are coming for placement
The library of the college is one of the top library of World. In world stunning universities library ranking it got 7th Rank .

The college is really good there are many opportunities.i Guess there is nothing that I dislike about the college.
One thing that can I say that after 8:30 hostel and library are closed that could be a minus point
But in opinion in every perspective college is really good

An insight into thapar

Likes

The infrastructure is amazing with good faculty and rich crowd.
The clubs and societies around are diverse
The learning experience is fun and easy to grasp.

Dislikes

They don't serve non veg food in mess at all.
The rooms of some hostels are pretty old with scraped walls
The college focuses more on extra curriculars

Placements of thapar are fairly nice with medium package of around 12 Lpa and median od around 10 Lpa. campus placement are high in number but even if i don't get one the employability chances are high due to my speciality in my respective course

Review of Thapar College

Likes

Campus is good in both size and beauty .
Mess food is good as compared to the hostels where I lived earlier.
No ragging in campus . There are strict rules against ragging.

Dislikes

Reservation for Punjab quota students in terms of hostel and branch allocation.

Placement Experience:

Placement records of Thapar Institute is good. Although average package is almost 11LPA but still a large number of stundents are able to grab placement. Highest packages are 1cr and above. In the end of third semester and 4th semester onwards students are eligible for placements. My plan is also to grab a decent placement in a tech company.

If not cleared jee then came to thapar. Its like an IIT experience.

The food quality of the message is too good.
The facilities provided is too good. Everything is just perfect
Everyone is supportive and provides a good guidance

Dislikes

In time of the hostel and college is too early.
Sometimes internet connection gives not good response
In my particular hostel gym is not available.

From 7th semester we are eligible to sit in the campus placement. Internship are early starts from 5th semester. Approx 90 percent students got placed anywhere. My plan is to do job in tech companies.

Campus environment is quite nice. With 300 acres of space and 10000+ students, it is among the best. Seperate regions for boys hostels and girls hostels across the campus as well. Excellent shopping area and food complexes.
Infrastructure is class-leading. Modern environment, cameras, and digital displays. Most rooms are air conditioned.
Close proximity to local patiala markets ensures easy access to fruits, medicines, restaurants, clothes, public transport, and various other amenities

Dislikes

Placements: the economic slump is partially to be blamed, but overall really poor job opportunities.
Attendance: Strict regulations of having attendance of atleast 75% is bad.
Cost: 25-30 lacs for education is unreasonable and too expensive even more the upper middle class people

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is offered. Minimum CTC is 5, this year in middle of placements max CTC is 52 lpa. Last year it was 1.25 cr 70-80% students got placed last year. This year till August 2024 for the batch of 2025, only 30 companies have come, hiring not more than 200 students out of 2500 approx. Notable companies visiting this year include Apple, Google, Bain, JPMC, Zomato, Cloudera, etc. After getting a degree I want to get SDE role in a top firm.

Everything You Need To Know about Thapar Unviersity

This Campus is very well planned and provides a good campus exposure to students.
Students can indulge in various societies and clubs for peer interaction
Social life as well as extra curricular is overall good

Dislikes

The administration system is a bit faulty
There are no advertisements for the college in the city
Time Restriction for hostel is around 8 which should be increased

Placement Experience:

The average placement of Thapar is around 10 lakhs per yr. Students are eligible for placement after completing 3rd yr. Various companies like Zomato, Google, Aplle recruits students from Thapar. The highest package offered this yer=ar to two students was aroun 1.2 Cr per yr and this was campus placement. Percentage of students getting placed is above 90%. If a student wants to apply for off campus placement, he can do that as well. I will persue Masters after this degree

THAPAR: a whole new world

The staff is very well educated and they try to help you with everything you stuck at. They offer you help. The seniors are also very helpful. And the campus and environment is very well
There are so many activities for freshers that they don't feel awkward or uncomfortable in adapting college.

Dislikes

Too much study pressure. Like after every month or few days they tend to give us exams and assignments, which feel very suffocating sometimes

Placement Experience:

In last year, which is 4th year students start practicing internship and later on they get placed in well to do companies. There are many companies which visit our campus like Infosys, Amazon, Google, Microsoft etc and they place number of offers. I will talk about my branch which is coe, the highesy package offered was 55 lakhs. There is about 90-93 percent of students getting in campus placements. My plans after the degree is to get placed in good company and later doing some business

My honest take on TIET, Patiala

One of the primary aspects which I appreciate would be the infrastructure of my institution.
There are several opportunities for students to make valuable contacts and connections through college societies and events
Most of the faculty members are quite good at their job. However, there always are some teachers who may not be efficient at what they do. Its safe to say that 8 out of 10 teachers are pretty good.

Dislikes

The one aspect would be the affordability. The institute is seriously expensive and creates a financial burden for the parents in most cases

Placement Experience:

Placements is actually one of the most thoroughly discussed subject at my college and its taken pretty seriously as it is one of the pillars for it's strong reputation. The students are eligible for internships right after the second semester, based on their skills. For on-campus placements, the students are mostly eligible after the sixth semester. Several companies such as JP Morgan, Deloitte, Samsung, Microsoft, Intel and last year Apple havd put their trusts over the students of our college. Also the placements record is quite good. Last year, the highest package was claimed to be around 54L per annum, which was secured by 2 students. The average stood at 12L per annum. As per my knowledge, all of my seniors were placed in pretty good corporations. However its also important to acknowledge the individual effort and skill. I plan to secure a good job through on-campus placements and make a mark on the tech world...

atmosphere is really good, many people, many socities, something is going on everyday.
faculty is good, and students and seniors are good as well.
infrastructure is good, modern classes and all.

Dislikes

so much construction is going on, every day new building..
sometimes students cannot manage crowd in events and may lead to injuries for students.
strictness in parking vehicles, cannot bring my activa inside campuss

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
