What Students Say
Likes
- One of the primary aspects which I appreciate would be the infrastructure of my institution.
- There are several opportunities for students to make valuable contacts and connections through college societies and events
- Most of the faculty members are quite good at their job. However, there always are some teachers who may not be efficient at what they do. Its safe to say that 8 out of 10 teachers are pretty good.
Dislikes
- The one aspect would be the affordability. The institute is seriously expensive and creates a financial burden for the parents in most cases
Course Curriculum Overview
This is an aspect thag I've always appreciated. The courses and the curriculum is almost always updated and in-line with the broaded guidelines. The subjects here are broken-down into three instruction medias, which are lectures, labs and tutorial classes. So most of the subjects are covered pretty nicely. Talking about the exams, these are held twice every semester(mid-sems and end-sems). Besides, there are quizes and practical tests all-along the semester, which can, at times be pretty rigorous...
Internships Opportunities
There are campus internship opportunities after the completion of second year. Companies like Microsoft, Intel, JP Morgan etcetera offer internship programs for skilled students. Most of these are paid internships. A senior of mine, for an example, completed his summer internship with IBM this summer and was paid 20000/- a month for this contributions. He suggested me to be thorough with the programming knowledge and also complete atleast one project before the end of second year to solidify my chances for such internships.
Placement Experience
Placements is actually one of the most thoroughly discussed subject at my college and its taken pretty seriously as it is one of the pillars for it's strong reputation. The students are eligible for internships right after the second semester, based on their skills. For on-campus placements, the students are mostly eligible after the sixth semester. Several companies such as JP Morgan, Deloitte, Samsung, Microsoft, Intel and last year Apple havd put their trusts over the students of our college. Also the placements record is quite good. Last year, the highest package was claimed to be around 54L per annum, which was secured by 2 students. The average stood at 12L per annum. As per my knowledge, all of my seniors were placed in pretty good corporations. However its also important to acknowledge the individual effort and skill. I plan to secure a good job through on-campus placements and make a mark on the tech world...
Fees and Financial Aid
The year-wise fees would vary depending upon the courses one opts for. Generally, it costs about 750000/- per year as tuition fees for most of the listed courses. Besides, depending over whether you choose a hostel facility or not, the fees fluctuates. For a generality, the hostel costs about 100000/- per year. There are several scholarships available, the eligibility however, dependa over several factors some of which maybe your family income, your academic performance etcetera. For an instance, if a student manages to perform exceptionally well academically, he may be covered for upto 80 percent of the fees.
Campus Life
As mentioned earlier, the students get alot of opportunities to make connections through college societies and events. Each year, a proper recruitment drive is held by each society and students get a plenty of opportunities to be a part of these activities. Besides, there are alot of events and activities that are held at my college. Talking about library, the Nava Nalanda Library is actually breath-taking. It has a wide range of books and papers which are accessible to all the students. The classrooms are pretty well designed, both aesthetically and acoustically. Equipped with projectors and ACs, all the lecture halls are awesome. The college has dedicated grounds for almost all sports and the students are given opportunities to take part into these activities.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are okayish actually. I'm currently residing in Hostel-C, which has 2S and 3S rooms. All the rooms in my hostel have amenities like Air-Conditioning, proper lighting and study-tables. However one downside would be that most rooms are pretty small. The hostel mess is pretty good and better than one would expect from a hostel mess. The menu is set and pretty good, atleast I find it so. The registration is done through fretbox app. Regarding affordability, it costs about 60000 per semester(including the mess fee) which I think is alot actually. Regarding the PG facility, there are alot of PGs around the college so students could easily find an accommodation if necessary.
Admission
I did not apply for any other colleges actually. However, I can answer as to why I chose this college over other potential choices. -A strong reputation. -Good placement and internship opportunities. -The infrastructure and campus location. Besides, a senior of mine studied here and he suggested me to go for it.
Faculty
As mentioned earlier, most of the faculty members are pretty good at what they do. They also take care that the students understand the subject and take the student responses really seriously. There however, are always anomalies and there are certain teachers who are not really interested in the job. Its is still safe to say that 8 out of 10 teachers are reasonably good at their job.
