Quality of education: Best in class education. Extremely qualified teachers who are pioneers in the country
Infrastructure: state of the art facilities, labs , fully air conditioned lecture halls with top class AV facilities
Practical education: heavy patient load allows students to have good practical experience apart from just theories.
Dislikes
Food: food given in the mess is not that much appreciable.Mess authorities are generally ignorant towards student concerns. Taste of food is bad.
All other aspects of the college is really appreciable except for food
Course Curriculum Overview:
Doctors are always a need for the society. The curriculum deals mainly in healing people which attracted me towards it.
The curriculum has specific competencies a student should achieve in order to be competent as an Indian Medical Graduate. These competencies are set of skills every student should acquire.
Teaching should be more practical oriented and theory should be reduced.
More competencies should be included.
Frequency of exams doesnt affect much. but portions to be studied for each exams are bit heavy.
Difficulty level is moderate to hard
The lab facilities are really nice, the equipments and research centre is very well developed.
The centre celebrates festivals like ONAM, has its own ARTS club and SPORTS team
Teaching and non teaching staffs are very friendly.
Dislikes
Certain subjects have minor overlaps in the theory part. Maybe that could be avoided.
Comparatively lesser study holidays before semester exams.
Placement Experience:
Placements are mostly conducted with AMRITA school of pharmacy, and managed by the CIR team (They take care to develop and mould students from 1st semester in aptitude, English and soft skills). The package is, on average, between 3.5 - 5 LPA.
The centre also has an opportunity to join back as JRF/PhD.
sameeksha ( a program where they teach an artform for a week and then you perform it)
Dislikes
there was no celebrations even if there is some celebration its just a speck of dust as compared to other colleges
the canteen is not good the food there is bad , like what they give as sandwich is two bread and in between it some cabbage and carrot and some mayo . they just toast and give that and it costs Rs.35
Placement Experience:
campus placements start from the 3rd or 4th semester.
most company's reject students with backlogsor gap years, but some company suggest that students with less than a certain number ( mostly less than 2) of backlogs can also apply
many company's have visited like deloitte, kpmg, jp morgan, union bank etc
one senior have got into deloitte with 7-8 LPA
The atmosphere of the college is good more trees are there
Dislikes
There is a temple inside the campus that makes more restrictions to the campus
Don't allow non veg is is tough for a non vegetarian hostelers
Less events and less extra curriculum activities comparing to other amrita institutions
Placement Experience:
Amrita is providing placement drive to every last year students and many of them got placed. There are many companies like Deloitte, amazon , google,hp, microsoft, dell, adobe, etc ..many of the students get placed with good salary package
Faculties are well certified. The faculties approach us with good attitude. the infrastructure is covered with greenery giving a postive and nature feeling. There are a lot of students funded events.
The infrastructure is well equipped with the necessities, the placements are pretty good as for of now and internships are provided by the college at the last year. There are some extra subjects for out personal values.
There is no too much stuffing of boys and girls in one class,it is equally balanced. They provide us with many events that helps in socialising with others. There is a pretty good library are the campus if fully guarded and well maintained
Dislikes
Some faculties are rude and the college is overall really strict. The hostel is a burden as it does not provide any freedom at all. There is no much fun in this college, the events should be funded by the students.
There is no proper canteen for students there is only a snack canteen. There is no extracurricular activities and sports, the teachers are not regular to classes. Some buildings are converted from hospitals thus gives a hospital vibe.
There are a lot of unwanted subjects making it more stressful for students. Some faculties lacks the confidence to talk in english. Overall there is no fun in this college and it is meant for studious students. There is no play area too.
Course Curriculum Overview:
As of 1st year there is no much to study most of the time you are free and will be wandering here and there with events. The curriculum is not that great, there are a lot of unwanted topics to study and the curriculum based of the course is less and are not taught properly. They should remake the course curriculum for our benifits. By the seniors we came to know that going further the topics are going less and less which is concerning and the teachers and not regular to classes. Therefore the curriculum is not that applicable to our future. The curriculum given in there site made me choose this course but the content in it is not much satisfied. There is only one exam other than the sem exam. The papers are well balanced with application level questions and the papers are pretty lengthy.
The placement training. we have a cource called CIR from the first sem onwards were we will be trained for our future placements.
Good and interactive teaching. Most of the teachers are very well equipped in their subjects.
Focused on traditional and indian culture. the authorities give importance to indian culture in every programes they organize.
Dislikes
There are only very less fun programes. that is the main problem every student feels. Does not have any celebrations or energetic programes.
Placement Experience:
The placement run starts from the second last semister onwards that is the final year. almost 90% of the students get placed in good companies. many students opt for higher studies. even if we didnt get placement we will be able apply for the job and admissions easily as there is a globall cirtificate value for amrita institute.
The major thing that I like about the collage is it's environment.it provides a good environment which makes learning more interesting
Other thing is that it's infrastructure.they provide a good infrastructure
Other major thing i like is the advanced classrooms
Dislikes
One of the major thing that I didn't like about my collage is it's canteen
Other thing is the faculty of my chosen course
There is also no events or programs to showcase our skills
Student Snaps:
Placement Experience:
The college's placement opportunities are somewhat limited, especially for students pursuing creative fields like Communication Design. While a few companies visit the campus for recruitment, the number of roles and the variety of industries are not very extensive. Many students find themselves relying on off-campus opportunities or internships to secure employment. The college does provide some support through placement cells, but the assistance could be more structured and proactive. Despite these limitations, the experience of participating in placement processes has helped students build confidence and prepare for professional opportunities
Faculties in this college is friendly, more over supportive and well qualified.
Lab facilities are more likely better compared to other colleges as of my knowledge.
Infrastructure and environment are more likely to my preference.
Dislikes
Hostel mess food are not that good to be honest.
Cleanliness of the hostel is on the down side.
There is a very strict policy for attendance like we should have 80% attendance for attending university exam.
Placement Experience:
Amrita offers a good placement opportunities with different pharmaceutical companies like Cipla,Sun Pharma, etc. Eight semester students are eligible for campus placements. Cipla, Johnson and Johnson,Sun Pharma, Dr.Reddy,etc. I think the highest package was about 3,00,000/- per annum. 100% placement will be provided. I am aiming for further studies.
There will be sport fest and arts fest in all academic year. And other programs related to pharmacy .Inter College and Inter University sport meet.
Overall the campus is peaceful and welcoming
Lap facilities for ug pg and PhD are quite remarkable
Dislikes
The mess provided by our college never acceptable
Strict attendance policy due to which student feel difficult
Placement Experience:
Eight semester students become eligible for campus placement. In our college last year there was 100 percentage of students got placement. The major companies visited are Sun pharma , Cipla ,Dr Reddy's, Johnson & Johnson .And they offer minimum of 300000 per annum.
The college has good faculty which will guide you through out your course
There is good infrastructure in the college including good labs
There is less burden of assignments and seminars
Dislikes
There is a very strict policy of attendance 80% minimum
The hostel facilities are average in terms of food and rooms
There is a rule for you to remove/trim your beard for exams
Placement Experience:
The placements start in the 7th semester which means the last year and the companies visited are Sun Pharma and many others they are many number of offered by them. The highest package
offered is 40k and the average packages about 25k
The percentage of student getting the placements are between 85 to 90% and my plans are to pursue higher education.
