Course Curriculum Overview

4

Doctors are always a need for the society. The curriculum deals mainly in healing people which attracted me towards it. The curriculum has specific competencies a student should achieve in order to be competent as an Indian Medical Graduate. These competencies are set of skills every student should acquire. Teaching should be more practical oriented and theory should be reduced. More competencies should be included. Frequency of exams doesnt affect much. but portions to be studied for each exams are bit heavy. Difficulty level is moderate to hard

Internships Opportunities

5

We have internship in our own hospital. This is a compulsory internship programme suggested under the curriculum by the NMC. Internship is really useful in shaping you as a doctor. Since the pateitn load in the hospital is high, internship period helps in upgrading previoously acquired competencies. and skills.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly fee is 19 lakh. Around 20k fee is there for library Hostel fee is 1 lakh total comes upto around 20.44 lakh Everyone has the same fee amount No scholarships are available for tuition fees No other charges

Campus Life

5

We have annual arts fests, annual sports fest and SPASHT- annual case presentation workshop. Timing varies in different years. We have all various other celebrations. We have plenty of workshops. The range of available books in the library is really huge. We have dedicated digital library. We have subscribed to almost all online platforms like Clinicalkey. Classrooms are air conditioned. Good lighting and AV systems. Well maintained furnitures. Sports and all other extracurricular activites are given major importance. Sports fest is one of the major celebrations in the campus. We have so many active clubs which regularly conducts events. All student related things like attendance are regularly updated in dedicated online digital platforms which are separate for both parents and students.

Hostel Facilities

3

We have two tables, two cots, and two cupboards for two roommates. Power is available throughout the day. The washroom facility in the hostel is bad. Drainage system in the washrooms is bad which leads to frequent wastewater clogging. Hot water is available throughout the day. Meal quality is really poor. Menu is really small. Taste of food is not upto the mark which leads the students to depend onto outside food. Attitude of food serving people towards students is very bad. Registration process to hostel is in connection with college admission.

Admission

I applied through the All India Allottment process by NMC. This college was my first preference. My other options were some of the other deemed self financing and government colleges. I dont remember exactly. This was my best option and i didnt have any doubt in choosing this college as It is one of the best reputed colleges in the country. Admission is through the All India Allotment process. NEET UG is the accepted exam. Eiligiblity is minimum marks in 12th and NEET UG ranks. Admission process is a bit tough. You have to be really vigilant throughout the enitre process.

Faculty

4

Faculty student ratio is not clear. Nearly all faculties have warm relationships with the students. They are really approachable at all times. They even provide us their personal numbers. They are never hesitant to clarify our doubts and always welcome such doubts. We cant pickup separate names for best facutlies as each one of them are pioneers in each of their departments. But then also there are some faculties who are a bit proud and not approachable. Number of exams vary from year to year. Difficulty level depends on the exam and the subject. However they are not too easy not too difficult. We have pass percentage close to 98% Course curriculum is very much relevant in the current wrold scenario

Night Life

5

We have so many hangout spots in the campus. We have a beautful lakeside nearby. Daily games are played in the college ground. This really helps in refreshing our minds after the hectic college schedule. A really huge gym facility is available in both boys and girls hostel. All modern equipments are there. We have so many cafeterias in and outside the campus. Some are 24*7 open. The locality is completely safe with all time security patrols and CCTV Surveillance.

Even though a bit tight and rushy, this is in fact the best curriculum provided and followed by all medical colleges in kerala. The frequency of exam is high and difficulty level is as same as that of KUHS. This provides relevant experience for the students to weite the university exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's always relevant to the content being taught by the teachers. They always use application based questions to prepare us for a real life situation as well. First aid training was also completed. Some of the teachers are very interactive while some not. Short exams are conducted on a weekly basis while internal exams are conducted every 2/3 months. Not that difficult but it isn't that easy either. Very strict checking, nothing is liberal.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is a pretty hard one i must say but the feeling of putting on a white coat and looking after patients is surreal and that's the main essence of the job. The curriculum is very vast but each subject is important in its own way. The exams are all conducted in such a way that there's enough time for us to prepare .
