The Full form of BASLP is BSc in Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology. BASLP is a 4-year course that teaches the process to diagnose and cure speech and hearing related issues. BASLP Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for BASLP admission 2024, varies slightly from universities to another. However the overall criteria or the requirement remains the same. 

  • The student should have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics as the compulsory subject from a recognized board
  • Students from both mathematics as well as biology groups are eligible.
  • They must have scored at least 50% in the 12th standard.
  • 5% relaxation is offered to the reserved categories.

  • Candidates who are going to take admission in WBUHS should have completed 17 years of age before 31 December 2024.
  • In the case of admission to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, the candidates need to pass english as a part of their core or elective subjects in their 12th or equivalent examination.

BASLP Admission 2024

The BASLP Admission to the top colleges are done on the basis of entrance examination. Some of the private colleges offer admission on the basis of merit list. The admission process generally begins from the month of May or June.

  • The candidates are required to visit the website of the institute where they want to take admission and check out the eligibility criteria. After that they are required to find the mode of admission.
  • Then candidates should fill up their registration form with a running mail ID and phone number and generate login ID.
  • After creation of the login ID the candidates are required to fill up the application form and upload the documents.
  • After that the candidates need to pay up their application fees and take out a receipt of the application form for future reference. 
  • In case of merit based admission the college will release a list of the qualified candidates.
  • And in case of entrance exams the list of qualified candidates are released by the agency. The candidates have to make their choices during the final round of counselling. 

BASLP Entrance Examination 2024

NEET UG

  • The NEET UG entrance examination is conducted by the National Testing Agency. 
  • The duration of the BASLP Entrance examination is for 3 hours.
  • The upper age limit for the BASLP entrance exam has been scrapped. 
  • The cost of the application form is INR 1500 for the general categories, INR 1400 for EWS and INR 800.

IPU CET 

  • The IPU CET is an university level entrance examination conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University for admission to its UG and PG courses. 
  • The candidates must have physics, chemistry,biology or maths as their compulsory subjects. The candidates must also have english as one of the fundamental subjects in their 12th.
  • The cost of the application form is INR 1200.
  • The duration of  the entrance examination is for a [period of 3 hours. 
  • The syllabus of the entrance exam is based on the subjects from the class 12 examination that includes physics, chemistry and biology.

All India Entrance Exam of AYJNISHD(D)

  • This entrance examination is held by the Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities.
  • Candidates are required to have a 50% score in their 12th or equivalent examination from recognized boards.
  • The duration of the entrance exam is for 2 Hours and the questions are mainly in MCQ format.
  • There are a total of 125 seats.
  •  The registration process is expected to start from July with the entrance tentatively scheduled to take place in August.

How to prepare for the entrance exam?

Most of the BASLP Entrance Exams have maximum questions related to biology. Biology questions take very little time to solve. So, it is better to first attempt questions related to biology. And to keep the biology section strong.

  • Exam Syllabus: BASLP Entrance exams consist of 3 sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The biology section holds the maximum number of questions. So, it is necessary to be good at Biology.

Faculty

Overall the faculties are good and clinically expertised in their field . All the faculties sre supportive to students . There are 20 faculties in both speech and hearing department and 12 phd scholars. Each sem they conduct 2 sessional exams and 1 end sem exam . The exams are conducted in epad tablet . Sessional exam are of 30marks and end sem are conducted out of 100. Exams are not that difficult and some are moderate.

Overall the course is good . It has got good scope now and in future. I have dual course speech and hearing . After my undergraduation i can take any one of these and go for further studies . It has good scope in abroad aswell. The curriculum is prepared well and practical knowledge we get here is good expecially at manipal .

At my time in 2018 it was annual examination system and college was affiliated by ipu named AYJNISHD NOIDA we have a one year complete intership in government hospitals as it is a professional cousre we have to deal with the patients who have problem in speech and hearing the cousre is very good because you contribute your self and work as a health care professionals and make patients life better but the university is not that good the staff is not supportive at all if you face any kind of trouble in your academics they will hang you out for years without even giving a clear decision

You have very less faculty in the college related to BASLP and even the faculty is not good , they are approachable for some points but they always try to poke you or demotivate you if you are a average student Now there is a semster system exam and subjects are not that difficult to understand and study once you are good in your practical skills you can score good enough in your exams

10 months of internship and there will be posting to other medical colleges during this internship. You'll recieve stiffen per month and there will be a viva at the end of the internship. This course is based on speech and hearing majorly focusing on 2 things. One is to provide therapy for people with disabilities including children and adults and the other is to diagnose rehabilitate and address hearing impairment for all populations. most of the faculties had done PhD and there are approximately 200 faculty. The exam is done semester-wise. It's difficult to pass the exam. Most of the time there will be 8 questions and from that 4 have to write.
