Course Curriculum Overview

3

As of 1st year there is no much to study most of the time you are free and will be wandering here and there with events. The curriculum is not that great, there are a lot of unwanted topics to study and the curriculum based of the course is less and are not taught properly. They should remake the course curriculum for our benifits. By the seniors we came to know that going further the topics are going less and less which is concerning and the teachers and not regular to classes. Therefore the curriculum is not that applicable to our future. The curriculum given in there site made me choose this course but the content in it is not much satisfied. There is only one exam other than the sem exam. The papers are well balanced with application level questions and the papers are pretty lengthy.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course Bdes started 3 years ago with the fees of 49700 per sem. Scholarship is only applicable for students who have percentage above 90% in 12th grade. There is no fee concession in other cases, bca has also similar fees of 49200 per sem. Students loan is available. The course is 3+1 where degree certificate is awarded at the 3rd year with honours after completion of 4th year

Campus Life

2

The campus Life is bad there is no clubs no fun events , everything is restricted. You can't roam much around the campus not use phones in class much. The infrastructure is not the best but not the least, no elevator in all blocks, buildings looks off. There barely any events in this campus, there is no gym no football or any courts to play here ,not meant for spots enthusiasts. There is only one eco club which is really boring and not much active. other groups are run by students and are not that great. The library is pretty equipped with books. There is no celebration here. If you are expecting your college lifr to be fun you will be disappointed.

Admission

I only applied for nid and was not able to pass. As I was not experienced with the question patterns and was planning to take a year drop until I saw this college having the same course. Other colleges too have the same course but amrita got much higher certificate value when compared to most of the private college thus I checked the curriculum and applied for this college. The elegibility is to pass your 12th standard and have 60+% in all main subjects. After application there is only an interview for addmission where you will be asked to submit your portfolio and your abilities will be assessed. There is no exams for this , just one interview and they'll say whether you have been admitted or not.

Faculty

3

Some faculties are really good at handling the students but some are really rude. There is no much faculties when comparing to the students ratio, not all faculties are approachable, some have too much ego, and faculties are not cooperative with each other. Most of the faculties that are in visual media department are nice with a little pros and cons, but are not regular to classes. There is one midsem exam and a sem exam where the mid term exam is of 50 marks and sem exam is for 100 marks and the pass mark is calculated as the topper's half in the particular subject, the exams papers are really balanced but some students fail to clear the exams every year. The course curriculum is not that relevant as it is packed with a lot of unnecessary not on topic subjects. Vinod Laxman sir is one of the most regular sir in visual media department. There is no much complaint about other teachers. Some are not at all regular and some do not teach the best. The class coordinator to be mentioned Dinesh Babu sir is a very cheerful guy which makes him really approachable to be a class coordinator. Overall faculties till now are ok in visual media department. Not the best.

Night Life

3

There is no night life for hostellers or in campus if you want night life you should rent a house or look for a pg where you have no much restriction. The college is located in close to area of city in kochi and kochi does have night life. There are mutilated gyms cafes restaurants nearby the college and after getting out of the college you'll get peace here somewhere. Inside college it is boring until you get out. There is chai spots everywhere 2-3 gyms nearby where 2B fit gym to be one of the most famous around. Al Rheem resturant famous for only Mandi in kochi is nearby and multiple small cafeteria nearby. There is a muttar lake which is a place where we go and sit after class to relax. All the cafe gym are open till late night, the area is not the best to be called safe at night as it is an area of thugs and drugs. Hostel timings is till 6 pm maximum as it is only available for girls.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I joined cause I saw photography in the syllabus and after joining I understood what design was how vast it is. All the courses prepare us for real life challenges and the assignments are of that sort. I feel like the aspect of bringing in visitiong faculties they should also listen to whoever the students need. The jury is not that hard if youa have done your assignments timely and there is ample amount of time for submission.

Placement Experience:

The college's placement opportunities are somewhat limited, especially for students pursuing creative fields like Communication Design. While a few companies visit the campus for recruitment, the number of roles and the variety of industries are not very extensive. Many students find themselves relying on off-campus opportunities or internships to secure employment. The college does provide some support through placement cells, but the assistance could be more structured and proactive. Despite these limitations, the experience of participating in placement processes has helped students build confidence and prepare for professional opportunities

I would rate it on a solid 10/10 as I haven't been this happy ever. The college atmosphere and the teachers, and all facilities are like our bestfriends. We are all like one solid family and I think that's the biggest blessings any student can get from their college.
