College of Architecture Trivandrum (CAT), established in 2011, is one of the largest architectural schools in India. The college has ties with numerous international institutions and is deemed to be a global D-school for making positive change in the design of the built environment through creative and collaborative academic engagements. CAT offers only under graduate programs. Under those UG Programs, Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) and Bachelor of Design (B. Des.) are offered. The key features of the courses have been tabulated below:

Selection Criteria:

Selection of the Candidates for Admission in CAT is done on the basis of merit and Entrance tests of NATA, UCEED, NID. Counselling is done for those candidates who have qualified NATA.

How to Apply?

Candidates can apply for admission through Offline mode only. Candidates applying for any Course can follow below listed steps:

Candidates can obtain the Application form of INR 1000 from the admission office of CAT.

Ques. What is the eligibility of CAT Courses?

Ans. The eligibility criterion of the CAT Courses is given below:

Age: Candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December 2020. No relaxation of age will be allowed.
Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India.
For B.Arch.: Candidate should have completed 12th class with a minimum of 50% marks with Mathematics as a subject. Physics and Chemistry with 50% marks and Mathematics with 60% marks in aggregate. Valid NATA score is mandatory.
For B. Des.: Candidates should have completed 12th class with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates must pass in NATA/UCEED/NID(MAINS).

The course objectives which requires thinking and creating
The programmes being held that look good atleast in photos
Some of the faculties being younger understand the plight of the students and other faculties seem more relatable

Dislikes

The negligence of teaching the real world requirements of being an architect
They don’t teach us any software and we’re supposed to learn on our own
Some of the faculties are extremely judgemental and since this course is marked subjectively the marks heavily fluctuates on the basis of the juror or mentor we get

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

I chose architecture course as a passion but this particular college was chosen by the college The part of the curriculum I liked were the studios and workshops they provide They don't prepeare you for real world but they help you make connections Teaching a bit of law and rules and regulations and including software skills as a part of the teaching ciriculum should be mandatory

Yearly fees structure of the course and scholarship

Yearly payment is 1.15 lacs As a caution 1 lac is collected Management fees is 2.15 lacs SC/ST don't have any special privileges regarding the fee structure The hostel fees for a semester is 91000 including food

Quality reviews are not available and only 1 course is available as a top course arious events, sports and clubs of the college

Since all the programs are held by the student body alone with no help from the faculties and considering our busy schedule there are 3 programs held consistently Onam, Christmas and our annual celebration 600 which happens normally during October or November Many other programs also come in between like for the Valentine's Day Halloween Diwali etc but that depends upon the schedule of the students The college puts a great deal into sports such that even the faculty is engrossed and included in the martches A lot of clubs are there each which puts up there own programs throughout the year

Faculty and learning experience in the campus

The faculty ratio is set at 1 mentor for 12-13 students. The facutlies are approachable but some of them are extremely judgemental I don't like charudathan and krishnan potti especially potti being irregular to classes all the time and giving away our ideas to other students without any care and unecesary inappropriate critisizing The theory subjects are relatively easier to score but we do not get time to study due to our studio works

Admission process of the campus and eligibility criteria

I applied to CAT and MIT I didn't get in MIT because my jee marks were not tupto standard To get into CAT you need to take science as your major for 11th and 12th You need to submit your physics chemistry and biology marks You need to clear NATA exam And you need to apply the NATA marks in the KEAM site and you wait for to get a callback

Night Life

On college we normally hang out at the canteen Keyhole , cubes and 5 stones The keyhole is the go to place for couples Outside there are many places such as kadamb hills Ayiravalli river Cafe talkies All within a range of 3-5 kms The locality is safe even in the nights and cozy since the ppl around are village ppl

There is no requirement of uniform or a dress code except when for exams, we have to wear formals
Everyone gets to know everyone through various clubs
There is a class of freedom to express and is easy to mingle as it is a small community.

I chose this college as it was in my hometown itself. There is a 15km distance from my house. But college bus is provided. This college has a small community and is located in a remote area. So there are many restrictions of it

I was about to choose CET but due the limited seats i did not get the seat. I'm a merit student. I got this college through the applied list. My priority was gov collegea. In an allotment i got CAT so i did not wanted to loose this opportunity as it was a top private college for architecture

Admission:

I have opted for the nearby colleges. There were so many college nearby my place like Bishop Jerome Nagar , TKM PRVT and TKM GVNT. But i wanted to live atleast not in my native district. So i looked for colleges near by districts mostly located in the cities because i wanted to hangout once in while to eat , watch movies. I have applied for CET but it had only limited seats so i chose CAT which is more preferable based on my conditions and convenience. I have written the NATA exam and got passed and have taken the admission in CAT

The 600, our cultural fest also followed by CPL(Cat Premiere league), CCL(CAT Cricket League), Sports week, Daksha, and many more
U will personally like the architecture of our campus

Anti ragging policies in the first sem never lets u create a bond with the seniors
Ur a lazy person i dont recommend u to join this cllg

The clg has its details and good vibe rather than other colleges. For big spaces dont feel quite interesting but a blend with narure was just perfect. Other clges had really high fee structures and some had liw seats because i had first taken the B.Arch exams and then change my course to B.Des in the last moment

Exposing CAT

Dislikes

The management is not so supportive with the students and faculties.
The location of the college, which is difficult to reach and far away from important landmarks or amenities.

Admission:

The major eligibility to the course was the marks obtained for the NATA entrance exam. Apart from that for management seats, the college conducts and additional interview and tests which requires to be qualified. Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must be a citizen of India.
A pass in the 10+2 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or recognized as equivalent examinations with Mathematics as a subject.
10+2 scheme of examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination.
A valid NATA score is mandatory.
Minimum marks for mathematics in 10+2 examinations shall be 60%. (Desirable)
