College of Architecture Trivandrum, or popularly known as CAT Trivandrum, is an AICTE-approved college affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam University of Technology. It offers full-time 7 courses across 2 departments of Architecture and Design. With B.Des as its flagship course, it is available across Furniture & Interior design, Product Design, Communication Design, and Game design. The average fee for the 1st-year B.Des program is INR 1.5 Lakhs.

CAT Trivandrum B.Des Admission 2025

CAT Trivandrum offers a Bachelor's degree program in Design across 4 specializations with a yearly fee of INR 1.5 Lakhs. The admission procedure, specialization, eligibility, and selection criteria are discussed below:

B.Des in specializations of Furniture & Interior design, Product Design, Communication Design, and Game Design.
The candidate must be a citizen of India.
Students must have completed the 10+2 level examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in any stream from any recognized higher secondary school board.
For final selection, students must appear and pass NATA/UCEED/ NID/ NIFT or KS DAT Exam.
Applicants should have completed 17 years as on 31st December 2025. No relaxation of age will be allowed.

Students must have passed the 10 + 2 Level Examination with 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. Subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics should be included.
Based on the performance in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) or the KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical) Exam, students are considered for admission.
The admission process is conducted by the ACPC (Admissions Committee for Professional Courses)

I choose cat ove rit Kottayam because when I did research cat was so much better than rit Kottayam i didn't make it 2 cet gecetc because of the marks and other issues , I'm in merit seat which is by keam and nata exam

Life At CAT

Admission:

I aplied to NIT and CET but didnt get in because of my negligence of submittinf the necessary documents For admission into CAT you need to take biomaths or computer science as 11th 12th majors Then you need to take NATA exam and publish your maths, physics, chemistry and NATA marks on keam site for CAT

I applied to CAT and MIT I didn't get in MIT because my jee marks were not tupto standard To get into CAT you need to take science as your major for 11th and 12th You need to submit your physics chemistry and biology marks You need to clear NATA exam And you need to apply the NATA marks in the KEAM site and you wait for to get a callback

This colleges have a good opinion on the basis of architects. Along them a good talk on this college. NATA exam was the entry exam for this college. In all architecture college u should pass the minimal mark to enter any architecture colleges. I had pretty good nark to apply for this gollege via gov quota

LIFE AT CAT

Admission:

I was about to choose CET but due the limited seats i did not get the seat. I'm a merit student. I got this college through the applied list. My priority was gov collegea. In an allotment i got CAT so i did not wanted to loose this opportunity as it was a top private college for architecture

Admission:

I have opted for the nearby colleges. There were so many college nearby my place like Bishop Jerome Nagar , TKM PRVT and TKM GVNT. But i wanted to live atleast not in my native district. So i looked for colleges near by districts mostly located in the cities because i wanted to hangout once in while to eat , watch movies. I have applied for CET but it had only limited seats so i chose CAT which is more preferable based on my conditions and convenience. I have written the NATA exam and got passed and have taken the admission in CAT

The clg has its details and good vibe rather than other colleges. For big spaces dont feel quite interesting but a blend with narure was just perfect. Other clges had really high fee structures and some had liw seats because i had first taken the B.Arch exams and then change my course to B.Des in the last moment

The major eligibility to the course was the marks obtained for the NATA entrance exam. Apart from that for management seats, the college conducts and additional interview and tests which requires to be qualified. CAT a brief Review

Admission:

To be course eligible candidate should have completed 17 years. Apply online for admission in college site. CAT was established in 2011 and one of best architecture colleges in India. College has ties with many vendors for jobs. Well structured curriculum. Workshops and internship systematically done. Each semester consists of mini and macro projects with expert supervision. College assists in placements.
