Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Kochi) Faculties : Students' Opinion

AI-Generated Summary based on 110 Reviews

The faculty at the college is generally friendly and compatible with students, although some are stricter and less approachable. The institution conducts two exams per year: a mid-term exam of 50 marks and an end-semester exam of 100 marks, with the passing mark being half of the topper's score. The faculty is well-qualified, with most holding master's degrees and some possessing PhDs. Class sizes are large, with 80 students per classroom, affecting the student-faculty ratio.

While personalized guidance and mentorship are lacking, teachers are generally supportive, re-explaining concepts and conducting revision classes as needed. Visual media and communication fields are well-represented, with industry-experienced faculty. The curriculum includes subjects like anatomy, physiology, and microbiology in the first year, and pharmacology and pathology in subsequent years, with internships offered in the fourth year. The Centre for Nanosciences boasts 20 faculties, many of whom are renowned scientists, offering a robust learning environment.

Overall, faculty qualifications and teaching quality are strengths of the college, though improvements in engagement and curriculum relevance are needed.

Faculty:

Faculty student ratio is not clear. Nearly all faculties have warm relationships with the students. They are really approachable at all times. They even provide us their personal numbers. They are never hesitant to clarify our doubts and always welcome such doubts. We cant pickup separate names for best facutlies as each one of them are pioneers in each of their departments. But then also there are some faculties who are a bit proud and not approachable. Number of exams vary from year to year. Difficulty level depends on the exam and the subject. However they are not too easy not too difficult. We have pass percentage close to 98% Course curriculum is very much relevant in the current wrold scenario

Faculty:

There are almost 20 faculties here in the Centre for Nanosciences. All of them are well known scientists, who have interdisciplinary interests and ideas. Its great to work with them. The projects(final year graduation and post-graduation) are directly under the faculties. The labs are very neat, have good and updated technologies and latest equipment. Even if you have zero knowledge, its a good place to learn things from scratch. The exams are held twice a year, in May and December. The course work has monthly assessments, assignments and seminars.

faulty of commerece are pretty chill unless you get into their bad side they teach pretty good and also are approachable but the director is someone we fear and kinda dont like because he is the person who rejects all the plans in fests that sound good then there is this department called the cir. its campus industry relations. the purpose is good and helpful but some faculty within the deparment are terror while some others are just sweet people.

Faculty:

Some faculties are really good at handling the students but some are really rude. There is no much faculties when comparing to the students ratio, not all faculties are approachable, some have too much ego, and faculties are not cooperative with each other. Most of the faculties that are in visual media department are nice with a little pros and cons, but are not regular to classes. There is one midsem exam and a sem exam where the mid term exam is of 50 marks and sem exam is for 100 marks and the pass mark is calculated as the topper's half in the particular subject, the exams papers are really balanced but some students fail to clear the exams every year. The course curriculum is not that relevant as it is packed with a lot of unnecessary not on topic subjects. Vinod Laxman sir is one of the most regular sir in visual media department. There is no much complaint about other teachers. Some are not at all regular and some do not teach the best. The class coordinator to be mentioned Dinesh Babu sir is a very cheerful guy which makes him really approachable to be a class coordinator. Overall faculties till now are ok in visual media department. Not the best.

I'm not really satisfied with the faculty in my college . I think they really need to improve. The chances of having classes daily is very less. Additionally, the lack of personalized guidance and mentorship can make it challenging to develop a deeper understanding of the subject. I feel the faculty could improve by updating their methods and being more involved in students' growth.
