Course Curriculum Overview
I have an interest in pharmacy and subjects related to it. And I hope there will be good job opportunities in this field ,it is also very helpful in real life applications. The improvement that can be done are to add subjects like ethics to the curriculum. Exams are conducts every six months that is semester exam and two sessional exams on every three months. And I think that these timings are quite on the easy side.
Internships Opportunities
Amrita is giving opportunities in good companies such as Cipla, sun pharma, Johnson and Johnson, etc. The stipend depends upon your roles offered to you. I think one will have a minimum stipend of 15,000/- and above.
Placement Experience
Amrita offers a good placement opportunities with different pharmaceutical companies like Cipla,Sun Pharma, etc. Eight semester students are eligible for campus placements. Cipla, Johnson and Johnson,Sun Pharma, Dr.Reddy,etc. I think the highest package was about 3,00,000/- per annum. 100% placement will be provided. I am aiming for further studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
In first year I gave 1,00,000/- as tution fees,68,000/- for hostel fees and another 60,000/- for miscellaneous fees. In second year 1,00,000/- as tution fees , 68,000/- as hostel fees and another 40,000/- as miscellaneous fees. Students that secured top six positions in university exams will get 30% fee waiver and from positions from six to twelve will get 20% fee waiver.
Campus Life
There is only one fest conducted per year, that is our arts fest around the month of November. Facilities are kind of good and every classes are smart class. Sports is also conducted around February. Extracurricular activities are promoted in the college. There are several clubs such as sports club, music club, etc.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms are provided with a bed, a cupboard, an almirah for each and basic requirements like fan, light. Food is not upto the mark, well same menu repeats each week. Registration for hostel was just to see the head warden and get a sign, that's it. Is it affordable? Kinda, well for hostel(including mess) we are paying 68,000/-. Cleanliness is on the bad side to be honest, bathrooms are not that clean. Mirrors are not provided in the washroom.
Admission
I applied for different colleges but due to the better course available in Amrita School Of Pharmacy,I chose B.Pharm over here. Amrita also have good NIRF rating so I thought Amrita would be a good choice for my studies. Some college's did accept my application. But those colleges was not in my state. Admission process of Amrita was convenient, first of all we have to attend an entrance exam ( AEEEL) on which you will get a ranking and based on your you will be alloted to the respective courses. The overall admission experience was good.
Faculty
There are about four hundred to five hundred students about twenty facilities available including PhD scholars. I like most of the facilities here. There are two sessional exams and one semester exam at the end of the six months semester. There are about five to ten students who fail on average.
Interview Experience
Yeah there was an interview session after when we get the admission by the faculties. Which also enables us to get a brief idea about our course and about our university. Admission is quite similar to every other autonomous colleges ,apply for admission in their portal by paying a fees of two thousand five hundred. Then we have to attend an entrance exam AEEL. Then according to our ranks admission were allotted
Night Life
First of all the curfew for hostel is at 9:00 pm. So late night activities are quite a out of hostelers reach. Gym is also available in hostel from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. College starts 8:30 in the morning till 3:00 in the evening. Some cafe's are available that's outside the compound. Yep it is safe to roam around at night.
