Some insights of IIT Dhanbad

Likes

The Campus is very beautiful and lush green campus
The college is fully secured you will find security guard every where in the campus
Cleanliness of hostles and campus. The campus is maintained with proper cleaning

Dislikes

Mess food of Amber Hostel could be improved a little bit
Freshers are not allowed in gym. And college is having only one single gym
Classes are very hectic labs from 9 to 1 and again classes from 2 to 6.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester student become eligible for campus placement but many of students get pre placement offers after their internship in 6th semester. Talking about number of companies visited might more then 50 or more then that i don't know much about that. Popular companies visited are Google, Microsoft, taxes Instruments, samsung, Reliance, vedanta, flipkart, Amazon, phonepe , Salesforce, Infosys, Tata motor, Mahindra, and many more. Talking about heighest package that is 1- 1.5 cr pa. And average package may be around 30 lakh. Now percentage of student placements is 70 percent. My plan is build and startup after getting degree

IIT ISM DHANBAD Review

IIT ISM Dhanbad campus is quite good ,no outdoor interfrence is allowed ,greenery is very good . If you love night walk and morning walk just, plug in your earbuds and enjoy greenery.
the faculty of our college is very experienced if you respect them they treat you very nicely , different machines are available in lab and ta's are also supportive
placement is quite good here specially for petro and mining .for other branches also many good companies visit our campus like samsung ,google,microsoft etc for non core, tata steel, bajaj ,jsw , texas etc for other core branches .

Dislikes

there is no airport facility in dhanbad ,so very inconvinient for students
college management is very strict if you are found guilty even for small things , you will be punished .
mess food is very serious problem in our college ,they cann't make tasty food .you have to be tasteless to survive here

Placement Experience:

7 th and 8th semester students can sit for campus placement .google ,microsoft ,samsung ,tata steel ,jsw ,texas etc many companies visit here more than 80 % students get placed here highest package is around 80 lakh as my knowledge and average is 20 lakh for 2023-24 batch . i will become eligible for campus placement next year and will try to get a decent package

All you want to know about IIT(ISM) Dhanbad

Likes

Academics- Faculty is good. They have good knowledge of their subjects.
Library- It is one of the largest library of India. They have all the books related to the course as well as the fantasy books.
Placements- College Placements are growing this year for core as well as non core. Core placements and internships for this year are really good.

Dislikes

Hostels- Some hostels need some renovations like painting and room sizes can be bigger
Food places- Food places in the items can be increased. We have dominos in the campus.

Placement Experience:

Students are offered internships in their 5th semester and companies are opened on superset. Around 500 have got interned out of 1100 batch and 800 got placed out of 1100 and some have plans for international studies as well. Good thing is students have been placed in core companies as well which is good for someone who is not interested in coding. For electrical students have been placed in well reputed companies like Texas Instruments , Jaguar Land Rover, Reliance and JSW Steel. Hightest package received is 55 LPA and averga package is 16 LPA.

The college location was good. Everything was easily accessible from the college
Fests were really great in our college. The college would get all lit up, everyone become active and it was the best part
The bonds that yoh will make here will last forever

Dislikes

Some faculties were a bit baised, but it was good
The hostel rooms were not that great and it was not maintained properly
Entry restrictions on hostel. They had entry restrictions on hostels itself

Placement Experience:

Placements are pretty decent.I would not say everyone gets placed, but almost everyone gets placed.If you are sincere from beginning, you are sure to make it and perform well in the intern and placement season

A decent college with scope for expansion and growth

Placement Experience:

The average package is 16.98 LPA for this branch. Mostly the profiles for which companies visit this college is SDE and Developer. Companies visit for Data Science and ML-AI related roles but the number is less. Placement percentage in this branch is nearly 100%

Campus life is good and the support you get from seniors and batchmates is amazing.
Placement is good as comparing to other colleges .
College is good by seeing its alumni network its a great college.

Dislikes

The world outside the college i.e. Dhanbad is not so great.
The faculties are not so supportive in when it comes to your attendance.
Infrastructure is not too good but its ok

Placement Experience:

Stiudents pursuing BTech degree become eligible for cmapus placements in 7th semster and for Int MTech it is 9th semester. Companies like amazon, microsoft, goldmn sachs, accenture visits for the cmpus placements. 55 lakhs was the highest package offered and 19.8 lakhs is the average package. about 82% were placed.

The sports facilities of our college are great. The SAC comprises of all the cultural and sports activities.
Campus is not too big and not too small also. It is perfect and everything is available and reachable.
NVCTI (innovation hub) has all the high-tech instruments required for research purposes.

Dislikes

Roads somewhere are not too good. They should be renovated.
Mess food is not at all healthy and strict action should be taken
Girls to boy ratio is 4:1. It could be improved

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is properly framed and aims to develop interest of the field and roots the concepts step by step. Few courses are really tough and they could be made interesting by introducing practicals in that subject like electronic devices. Some courses like microprocessors are really interesting and moderately difficult. I think more labs should be there as compared to theory subjects because labs gives a better idea of the topic and also creates a good impact of the course.

Honest review of IIT Dhanbad in 3 months.

Likes

Campus life is really great, the festivals are very nice. Lot of effort is put into making it a success.
The course curriculum is very standard and decent.
Not all the subjects taught are relevant. 70 percent are relevant, whereas other parts are not that useful.

Dislikes

Not all the professors are good. Some teachers are very good but most are not upto the mark. All though they are knowledgeable about the field, their teaching methods are not good.
The attendance percentage minimum requirement is 75 percent which many may feel is too tight. Its too much attendance requiremnet
Campus could be maintained better, too much unsterilized stray dogs roaming around the campus.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements in my college are pretty good. Even if you are not placed in campus placements, it is not that hard to get a job outside of campus placements. All this is keeping in mind that the CGPA is above 8, and the person has good knowledge. Placement percentage is above 75 on average. Highest package in electrical is around 45 lakhs whereas average package is 19 lakhs. My plans after getting degree is to start a robotics company.

There are many cultural clubs. Seniors encourage us more to participate in all the clubs whether they are cultural or technical or sports.
Here all the fests are celebrating very well.

Dislikes

If you are a south Indian then you can't eat the food here.
There are many dogs in the campus, they even enter your hostel.
Expected better infrastructure but not reached expectations.

Placement Experience:

Few get it from 3rd year and others from 4rth year. A total of 254 companies offered jobs some were Tata, newzera tech labs pvt. Ltd etc. 1054 job offers were made last year and 11 international job offers too. About 70% of btech students are getting placed. After getting a degree I will be doing a job.

There are many trees in in campus which gives clean air and peaceful.Oval garden at Heritage Building of IIT Dhanbad is very beautiful
And Classroom are very good and luxurious and digital boards and Central library with A/C and wifi facilities
Professors are very experienced and qualified.They clear all doubts of students in a very smart way.And placements are very good.

Dislikes

Sometimes I don't like the food in hostel.

IIT Dhanbad ranks 15th among the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. It is a much older establishment than IIT Bhubaneswar. The fee structure for BTech in ECE at IIT Dhanbad is 2,30,120 for one year. It Requires a JEE ranking of 3000-10000 for ECE. The ECE department of IIT Dhanbad has seen 60% placement of students with an average annual salary package of 15 lakhs per annum and highest being 39 lakhs per annum. IIT Dhanbad has a total of 332 faculty members who are highly qualified and experienced members. Out of total, 315 members are Ph.D. holders.

IIT Bhubaneswar ranks 17th in the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. It is one of the newer IITs. The students with JEE ranking between 2000-7000 are eligible for Electrical Engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar. IIT Bhubaneswar in 2019 has seen 89% placement in the Civil Engineering Department with an average annual salary package of 11 lakhs per annum, 39 lakhs per annum being the highest. IIT Bhubaneswar has a total of 145 faculty members who are highly qualified and Ph.D. holders. IIT Bhubaneswar has 2 hostels for boys and girls each. It also has Shopping Complex, Healthcare centers, gym, Sports grounds and courts, Common rooms, Media entertainment rooms, ATMs, etc.

Thus, IIT Dhanbad will be a better option to study ECE than Electrical Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar because, Being one of the oldest established IITs, IIT Dhanbad is known for its quality of education and their campus life. It also has better and more experienced faculty members.
