My Journey at IIT DHANBAD

Likes

There is a hospital and medical store inside the campus in which you will get free treatment and check up and medicine.
The infrastructure and hostels of IIT Dhanbad is so clean and well established including lift inside the hostels as well.
There is no restriction for students for outgoing the campus.

Dislikes

Sometimes electricity cutoff issues we faced.

Placement Experience:

The placement of this college is good and the average placement of IIT Dhanbad is between 17 lakhs to 60 lakhs approx. There are more than 250 companies visited to get the students hire. Above 80 percent students getting placements.

Likes

Campus life of iit is excellent. The life of hostel will be as expected. Padhai thori kaam hogi pr maaja poora ayega.
The quality of food is great. You can get bored but you can't question the quality.

Dislikes

Wifi speed need to be improved except this everything is top nodge.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There was nothing specific I choosed the course because I have prior interest in it and moreover I was getting this branch only. The practicals that are conducted weekly prepare us for real world implementation. There is no improvement required.

IIT ISM DHANBAD PERFECT AND CLEAR REVIEW

Likes

College environment is very nice and beautiful .
Fests and the events they conduct ,encourage sports and management as well.
Placements and the internships opportunities they provide.

Dislikes

Food is not that much good especially for the people who comes from south
Ragging is conducted more but nowadays it is getting down
Way of teaching should be developed by the professors

Placement Experience:

For campus internship you are eligible from 5th semester and for the campus placement you will be eligible from 7th semester.nearly 200 companies visit our campus for placement opportunities. highest package is 50lpa and average package is 15lpa. 85 Percent students are getting placed here .if I got placement with good package I will take opportunity otherwise I plan to do ms in foreign universities.

Alumni Network. The college being a very old college since 1926 , it has a vast alumni network. Alumni work in almost every company in the world and it helps getting referrals
The College Campus is so cozy and comfortable. The college academics are good. Has the 2nd largest technical library in the whole of Asia.
Best Hostel facilities among old IITs. Also stands at 10th rank in NIRF list of IITs

Dislikes

The mess food quality could have been better
The opening closing ranks should improve considering the college is one of the elite colleges
Sports facilities need a revamped and more focus on providing world class facilities

Placement Experience:

The college offers really good placement with an average of 17 Lpa and last year the highest placement went to 2.4 Cr at an UAE based company. Almost all companies like Amazon , Google, Microsoft, De-Shaw, Goldmann Sachs, Samsung, Nvidia come for placements.

Review of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad

Likes

Clubs and Societes of both kind, that is cultural and technology.
Competitive Environment, as all students are JEE Advanced Qualified.
Strong Alumni Network which helps so much when you require referral.

Dislikes

Politics like during senate election regional politics is on its peak
College is very lenient in terms of interaction between genders, it will be very hard for someone to roam with their parents
Mess facility of all the hostels can be improved

Placement Experience:

from 7th sem students are eligible for placements some major companies are Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Sprinklr, Bajaj, Tata Motors, etc. No. of offers in 2023 was around 650. Highest package is 50 lpa and avg is 12 lpa as per previous year. Nearly 80% students are placed. I am thinking of getting a placement after college.

The infrastructure and the facilities provided by the coleege is very good . Proper full fledged lab are avaluable for reasearch related activities. Also experienced professors are avaliable.
Apart from academics the sports facilities and other activities facilities are also avaliablee. A cricket ground,football ground, athletics ground,badminton court ,basketball, voleyball,tennis,squash etc are avaliable with experience coach.
The grrenery of the campus is very good.There are many tress planted across the campus which gives ut a vibrance look and also a grat experinece.

Dislikes

The hostel management is not so good.The management like cycle stand is not avaliable .The lift avaliable in the hostel are most of the time out of service
The food provided by the mess is not so good. For the first few days anyone can eat properly but after thaat the food taste and quality detoriate drastically.
The very hectic scjedule of first year. There are 4 classes of 1hr each and 1 lab of 3 hr sechduled per day .This makes the first year very hectic and busy.

Placement Experience:

The placement season starts during 7th semester when various companies come to camous to recruit students. Top companies such as google, amazon,microsoft, coal india, texas instumentation, ONGC etc visits the campus for recruirment. Around 60 -70 percent of the students get placed every year. The highest package from the camous was about 1cr . And the average package of the college was about 15-16 lakhs Apart from the capmus placement many students apply for off campus placement for which also tge college helps.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The frequency of exams here is very good and not that many tough exams the teachers teach in class that surely come into the exams teachers are so cooperation and are very helpful they are strict in some cases while checking the answers.

Placement Experience:

There is a great opportunity for internships and placement in campus. There are two seasons one is dedicated for internships for 3rd year students and for 4th year dual degree students and one is for dedicated for placements,both seasons contains many online test and interview which are taken by company officials and if you want to do in the core sector it's also amazing as many of the companies that came in core sector there higher officials are our college alumni that's why it give edge in everything.

I think the college are good and i aspects of the college that appreciated.
Campus life is good, environment is very good here, seniors are very helpful here.
The Faculty's are good and very good teaching skills.

There is one new system in ism known as mis it is a hassle free system for all my credits and everything about me
The infrastructure is quite good the main heritage building is beautiful
The campus life is good the weather here is also good

Dislikes

Now there is no longer the branch change option which I disliked
Not every class is ac centralized and there is too much heat
In the hostel there are many insects and mosquitoes which is very problematic

Which one is better, IIT Dhanbad for ECE or IIT Bhubaneswar for electrical?

IIT Dhanbad ranks 15th among the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. It is a much older establishment than IIT Bhubaneswar. The fee structure for BTech in ECE at IIT Dhanbad is 2,30,120 for one year. It Requires a JEE ranking of 3000-10000 for ECE. The ECE department of IIT Dhanbad has seen 60% placement of students with an average annual salary package of 15 lakhs per annum and highest being 39 lakhs per annum. IIT Dhanbad has a total of 332 faculty members who are highly qualified and experienced members. Out of total, 315 members are Ph.D. holders.

IIT Bhubaneswar ranks 17th in the Engineering category by NIRF 2019. It is one of the newer IITs. The students with JEE ranking between 2000-7000 are eligible for Electrical Engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar. IIT Bhubaneswar in 2019 has seen 89% placement in the Civil Engineering Department with an average annual salary package of 11 lakhs per annum, 39 lakhs per annum being the highest. Thus, IIT Dhanbad will be a better option to study ECE than Electrical Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar because, Being one of the oldest established IITs, IIT Dhanbad is known for its quality of education and their campus life. It also has better and more experienced faculty members.
