Likes

The teachers are good at teaching and also have a doctorate.
Class are very near to every boys hostel.
Seniors guide in each and every steps to students.

Dislikes

The electricity facility problems are being faced.
Network issue exists during holidays and Sundays.
The fruits in fruit shops inside the campus is not good.

Admission:

I choose IIT Madras as my first preference and letter different kind of IIT's based on NRIF ranking along with placement percentage for my branch during 2023 for each iit that I applied. Based on my rank this college as my best and this also provide good knowledge and resources to learn.

Likes

I like the atmosphere of our college it is very pleasant with trees.
Students are encouraged to participate in different kind of activities.
Everything required for a student is available inside the campus.

Dislikes

The temperature in the college keeps changing.
The cost of food items in canteen are high.
The wi-fi is not working properly sometimes.

Admission:

The college is having a National institutional Ranking Framework 14 in all india college in 2024 and also this college has good placements with an average package of 25 LPA. Differents types of companies are giving placements to many students every year like google, microsoft, etc.

Dislikes

The Surroundings outside the campus are not that good, underdeveloped city. No proper waste management by city muncipal council
Closing time of main gate is 10pm., which I feel is not fair.
Amber hostel food is not so good, its just EDIBLE thats it!!

Admission:

I had secured AIR 5860 in JEE Advanced, so i had applied for all CSE, ECE, ELECTRICAL, MNC and related branches in Top IITs. For my rank, I got IIT ISM Dhanbad in the last round. I had also got IIT Kharagpur Manufacturing Science, but I choosed to go for furture rounds as i thought doing a circuit branch in IITs is better. I could not make it to colleges that i wanted to as my rank was 5860 and belonging to the GENERAL category, the rank is too high to get into top branches of the top 7 IITS. The admission process is JEE Advanced, Elgibility is that u need to have good rank in JEE Advanced, the rank required varies from branch to branch but i can give you and idea, for our IIT ISM, CSE -> 2000 to 3500, MNC -> 3500 to 4500 , ECE -> 4500 to 6000 and so on.

I choose this college because this college has good NRIF ranking and excellent placements for graduates. Different types of companies like Google, Microsoft, Texas-instruments, Walmart global tech, etc. The placement percentage is good enough to get a job in this college in every branch. Different types of internships are also provided in this college to earn and develop skills.

Likes

Cultural Fests and sports fests are conducted in our college.
Everything is available inside the campus like fruit shop , stationary shop and we don't need to go out of campus for anything.
All types of clubs are there in our college.

Dislikes

The canteen will be closed during morning time in every hostel.
The wi-fi sometimes doesn't work properly.
The power facility sometimes doesn't provided due to some issues.

Likes

The college is maintained very well including good greenery.
It is not an open campus, so there is no traffic issues or pollution regarding motorcycles inside the college.
The college is facilitated and conducts a good number of fests after exams which is quite appreciable.

Dislikes

The food taste they provide is quite unsatisfied to me.
The college is must be maintained with good sanitary workers.
Somewhat unsatisfied with the placement that comes to our college.

Admission:

I choose this college because it stood in the top 10 list of IIT engineering colleges across India. And the rank and marks that I scored in my jee entrance exam also bought this college into my selection list. The admission process is completely held in josaa website.

Our college is the one of the oldest college which was build in 1926 and got its IIT tag in 2016.
Our college has great infrastructure including hostels, Lecture Halls, Innovation Cell.
Our College has an innovation cell, named NVCTI, where any student can go and work on their innovative and entrepreneurial ideas.

Dislikes

It's location is one of its drawback as it is located in Coal City of India, so you can't find very good places nearby.
Even though our Professors are well educated and qualified but they don't know how to teach.
The cirriculum is very strict with 75% compulsory attendance.

I have qualified JEE Mains and JEE Advanced with 10k rank. I got this college on the basis of my JEE Advanced rank. I choose mechanical engineering branch because of my interest in this field. Students can get admission in my college in many fields like b.tech through JEE Advanced, m.tech through Gate, phds, msc, mba, etc.

My life @ism

Likes

The campus and friendship life. Infra was good.
Also sports facilities were top notch and best.
Good fests and events. Flexible schedule.

Dislikes

Girls had in time of 12 am for hostels. Could be longer.
In time of campus is 10 pm which could be longer.
Could have better food courts and city did not have airport.

Admission:

The college has good nirf rankings. Was recently converted to IIT. So I was convinced with the branch and college was best for my rank. My advanced didn't go as well as planned hence lost some chances.

Placement data is also good if you are a good coder.
Faculty from various iits used to teach us that is great.

The courses are too lengthy and time taking.
Infrastructure is not that much great having old vibes

CAT 2023 Cutoff for IIT Dhanbad MBA Admissions:

ISM Dhanbad's cutoff for CSE for the general category during the last round of counselling sessions in 2023 was 3258. In 2022, it was 3009 and in 2021 it was 2968. For the OBC category in 2023, the last closing rank was 1190, in 2022 it was 1056 and in 220211 it was 885. Six rounds of counseling sessions take place and you will be allotted seats according to seat availability and your rank.

CSE is a popular branch at ISM Dhanbad. Students have to secure a minimum of 75% marks in their boards eligible for admission. Furthermore, students have to clear the JEE Main examination and get a rank higher than the cut-off rank in the JEE Advanced examination.
