IIT Dhanbad Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

In the undergraduate, Bachelor of Technology program, the students can participate in the placement activities in their last year, from the 7th semester. Where the placement cell of the college takes care of all opportunities, tests, and interviews. Most companies have various requirements to be able to appear for their test. Some require being in a certain stream, and having a minimum grade. The petroleum and computer science stream secures the highest placements, where packages go up to 1 crore for packages abroad. These streams also have around 100% placements. Most companies coming for placement seek students in the software field, but there are some companies for core placements. Around 40% of students get places on campus. I plan to do my PG after this course.

Internship offers start for students after the 4th semester and placement starts after 6th semester. You may also get a Pre-placement offer from the company where you intern. Last year, the highest CTC offered for CSE was 55.51 LPA with a 91% placement ratio.

The campus placements are pretty decent. On campus many companies come and recruit. Almost 70-80 percent students were placed in last year even though there was recession in the market. Total 909 offers were made by the 204 companies that visited the campus. The highest package was 59 lakhs. Major companies such as Google, Amazon,oracle,Goldman sachs,texas instrumentation, tata steel limited and many others, total of 204 companies visited the campus. Average package was 16.45 for the year 2024 and 16.98 for 2023. After getting the degree I will sit for placements and will try to get placed in a good company. After 5 semesters you can do interns and you may get pre placement offers at that time to. In 7 and 8 semester you can sit for placements but most companies come after the 7th semester before the beginning of 8th semester in the month of December.

Our placements are better than other colleges but not as good as other iits also due to recession the placement have declined this year , as for me I have secondary choice to prepare for gate as core companies like cil don't come to campus placement and we have to crack gate which easier for my branch as it is a rare branch in india

Placements are okay, we have nearly 50-70% placements this year. Students are eligible for placements from 4 th Year. Average placement package in my branch is around 10 lakh PA, highest being around 20 LPA. I plan to do masters after my bachlor's degree.

-> Placements are very good in this year and in the previous year , inspite of recission our seniors got good placements. -> around 200+ companies will visit this college and they offer around 900+ offers. -> highest package is 52lakhs for cse profile and least is 6 lakhs mining profile. -> around 80% students get placed. -> my plan is to do job in machine learning field.

The placement of our collage is descent enough as the time of recession is going on so there is shortage of jobs and tha already employed person lost there jobs but even after this recession collage placement is decent.

We have in campus placement..... From third year students are eligible for placement and many students got pre placement offer from many companies where they do intern ... More than 300 hundred companies came in our campus to hire students...

Placement is good in our college. According to previous year states around 250+ companies visited for full time hiring and around 1062+ students received full time offers including 30+ international offers. Highest CTC offered was 1.3Cr( Amazon, Dublin ) and average CTC offered was 20.3 lakh per annum. Prominent companies like Amazon, Google, Flipkart, Walmart, Oracle, Microsoft, intel, Goldman Sachs, American express, paytm etc visited this year. Total students placement percentage was approximately 89 percentage

I would say the course is quite irrelevant for the first year that other branches students like environmental, petro, Mineral and Metallurgy students do not have their core subjects which are good but I think starting from 1 year will be good
