IIT(ISM) Dhanbad Overview

I am from Electrical Engineering department which some students call most difficult branch and some of it is true also but not all i guess. But yes it's a bit hectic then others i guess. Basically we have 4 classes in morning and 2 hour evening classes 2 days a week.

Internship are both in Research and Industry. According to official states around 100+ students interned at different universities worldwide ???? in different fields in the past 3 years some of the prominent universities are UIT- The Arctic University of Norway, University of Winnipeg, Universite Laval, BARC, Queen's University, ISRO, QUT, Queensland Australia, The University of British Columbia etc . In Industrial Intern 527 students received internship from different companies under different roles. 131 students received PPOs from companies after completing their internship. A total of 88 companies visited campus for internship recruitment. The Prominent Recruiters are Microsoft, Google, Goldman Sachs, Amazon, Samsung, Walmart, Morgan Stanley, Jaguar , Tata motors, Oracle, Sprinklr, Barclays Uk, Intel etc.

Placement is good in our college. According to previous year states around 250+ companies visited for full time hiring and around 1062+ students received full time offers including 30+ international offers. Highest CTC offered was 1.3Cr( Amazon, Dublin ) and average CTC offered was 20.3 lakh per annum. Prominent companies like Amazon, Google, Flipkart, Walmart, Oracle, Microsoft, intel, Goldman Sachs, American express, paytm etc visited this year. Total students placement percentage was approximately 89 percentage

Fees structure is more or less same as other IIT's . It's approximately 3.5-3.8 lakhs per year that is basically 1.3-1.4 lakh per semester. There are scholarships for financially weak students . MCM is one of them in which you can get even 100% fee weaver based on your family income and some other scholarships are also provided to reserved categories and Student loan are also provided by many banks.

There are fests like "Srijan" the cultural fest of IIT(ISM) , "Concetto" the technical fest , " Parakram" the games and sports fest , "Basant" the alumni reunion etc. There is a vast range of books available in library. There are many cultural, technical and sports club in college.

Hostels rooms are good except hostel provided to 1st year boys . Big rooms which are alloted 2 students per room till final year .In final year single seater room is provided. Mess facilities are also quite good. Day scholars are not permitted you have to live in college hostels .

You need to qualify Jee Advanced to get into an IIT . First you have to give Jee Mains and then Jee Advanced. For my branch i.e Electrical you have to get CRL rank above 9000-9500 it can change also. Jee Advanced is conducted once every year and talking about difficulty of exam So it is considered as one of the toughest exam in the world ???? . So yes it's difficult to get but not impossible if you try.

The faculty members are well qualified you know like best in there field. The faculty to student ratio is also good guess 100 students sections . Most of the Profs are good at teaching and mentorship. We can interact with Profs in class or at the end of it . Sime of the Profs even provide there Email to students so that they can ask there doubts there.
