Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course has been developed in a way that it caters both research (academic) & Industry readiness, with thorogh theoritical understanding of courses from Phuilosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Literature, with its implication in Digital Sphere. Faculties here are expert in their field and approachable . this course ahs helped me develop and helping me pursue my acadmeic pursuit. Here the exam is quite moderate but due to relative grading it is becomes frustating sometimes

Fees and Financial Aid

At IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, Semester wise fees is charged. For 1st Sem (General) fees: 57850 (inclusive of 39850/- (Tution Fees) + 18000/- (Hostel). Similarly Hostel fees is charged 18000/- inclusive of Mess, Wifi, Accomodation, etc.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is good, and specially the festivals and fest, such Durga Pooja and Srijan fest, etc. The best part is the Library here, which I liked the most and has huge capacity and century old books preseved.

Hostel Facilities

4

Institute mandates for opting of hostel accomodation, but poor part is the mess food, which needs improvements. It is best on Special dinner nights, with huge range of food menu and good quality food is provided. I am resideing in Sapphire hostel, which is mainly for 2nd year seniors.

Admission

Considering my engineering backround, and my interest in social sciences, made me choose this course, which I don't regret. I chose this over my offer from IIT Mandi, in MA Development Studies, as this field is very new in india and has huge potential to be researched upon. Admission process: Written test + Personal Interview

Faculty

5

We have around 18 faculties and ratio being 1:1 All the faculties are good and have their expertise in their respective field and very helpful if approached for help. We had very interesting courses such as Psychology of Internet, Digital Ethics, Data Fundamentals, Research Methodology, Digital Humanities, Digital Society, NLP, etc. Courses are devided as per Departmental Compsory Course, Elective course, Open course, Lab Courses, etc, and have credits like 9,9,9, 3 or 2, etc till 3rd semester and we have Thesis of 36 credit in final semester. Exam for each 9 credit course is held for 100 marks with 32 marks for mid sem, 48 marks for endsem and 20 marks for internals (Quiz/Assignment). We have relative grading for marking. Here the courses are of Level 5 courses which are meant to be for PhD scholars.

Interview Experience

5

Yes, the admission process has 2 stages: Written Test ( which has questions from GS, Computer related, Aptitude, etc.) + Interview ( panel of all faculty members) Written tests are moderately easy, and has weitage of 30% whereas the marks of interview has weitage of 70%.

Night Life

5

Gym and all other Student activity Centre has set timings. hostel gate closing time officially is 12:00 but within hostel night life is also fine. We have several hangout spots in campus with lush green and brerzing weather.

Course Curriculum Overview:

• I have done BA in psychology that's why I always wanted continue my further studies in the same field that's I choose this course . • The curriculum prepares you for real world applications but it depends on the person how they understanding the whole course and practically implementing the teachings in the real world. • I think the area for improvement in the course curriculum and teaching methods is teachers should provide group discussion and apply games which help the to try their practical knowledge. • In the whole year only two exams are taken by University and these are internal and external exam and the level is very easy means we can easily prepare for it in weeks .

Course Curriculum Overview:

Whatever that is prescribed in our syllabus, I believe is very relevant with what we need to learn. If somebody gets on the teaching line, these topics are very important for them to have a basic knowledge of that particular subject. The teachers don't actively focus on completing the syllabus, which in turn becomes a burden for the students. They need to be serious because its a matter of a childs life. The final examination has a duration of three hours and the class test has a duration of sixty minutes. The question aren't that difficulty. One who has paid attention to the lectures will for sure pass in the examination. But someone who does not know anything about the topic will mostly like to fail.
