The students will be required to pay additional mess charges of Rs 15000 per semester. Not applicable to foreign national students who are permitted to avail Institute’s International hostel.
Foreign National Students desirous of availing of elevated accommodation and dining facilities at the Institute’s International Hostel need to pay an extra INR 47261 per semester including the total semester fees in odd and even semester. For availing International Hostel, the students are required to put forward their request which may be considered case-to-case basis, depending on the availability and as per Institute norms.

- IIT ISM Dhanbad campus is quite good ,no outdoor interfrence is allowed ,greenery is very good . If you love night walk and morning walk just, plug in your earbuds and enjoy greenery.
- the faculty of our college is very experienced if you respect them they treat you very nicely , different machines are available in lab and ta's are also supportive
Dislikes
- there is no airport facility in dhanbad ,so very inconvinient for students
- college management is very strict if you are found guilty even for small things , you will be punished .
Fees and Financial Aid:
for first semester during admission we have pay insurance fee ,admission fee and other charges along with hostel ,mess and tuition fee . total may be around 1,50,000 which include 100000 as tuition fee ,10000 as hostel fee and 18000 as mess fee .For sc/st students there is no tuition fee ,so they have to pay around 40000 for hostel ,mess ,liberary and other facilites charge . for second and following semesters admission charges and other charges are excluded so only tuition ,hostel and mess fee have to be paid which comes around 136000 for odd semester and 126000 for even semester . IITs provide mcm scholarship for students on basis of thier family income . if income is less than 1 lakh your tuition fee is waived off , so only mess ,hostel fees have to be paid .if income is between 1 lakh and 10 lakh you have to pay 33 % of tuition fee i.e. 33333 . students have more than 6 cgpa and family income less than 6 lakh are eligible for this . 6000 are given to students for even semester and 4000 for odd semester in this scholarship . you can also have other scholarship based on your high school board and result . Like I belong to MP where you can apply for chief minister medhavi vidhyarthi yojna /scholarship if you pass their eligibility criteria they will paid your college fee. so if you have qualified jee ,you don't have to worry much about your fee .Only thing you have to care about is your study

The tution fee has remained stable for some years. There is a tuition fee waiver and scholarships provided by the administration based on the grades and financial conditions. Reserved quotas also receive tuition fee waivers. Educational expenses per semester are about 1.5 lacs, which includes 1 lac of tuition fee. There is a complete and partial tuition fee waiver for students. The institution also provides multiple scholarship opportunities for students.

However tuition fees constitutes more of 100000.and mess fees of 18000 and hostel fees is not there for us in IIT s. The complete cost per semester would be around 130000 approximately... there are numerous scholarships which eligible students can apply.But unfortunately I am not eligible for any kind of scholarships. But my friends applied for Reliance, Kotak Kenya, and mms and some others. We also have fee waiver in our college. We are the students in the college

- Hostels conditions can be improved by the colledge.
- Mess food is not that good it can be improved by the college.

Scholarships are given but they consist so many restrictions. While the placements in campus are excellent and this college bring so many opportunities and it is worth joining this college. Just the thing is I find the being a government college fess are little more.

But it not applicable for reserved students.Also for non reserved students if their annual income is less then they get some scholarship.The complete course of 4 years will go around 12 lakhs. Scholarships are provided like MCM scholarship, NSP scholarship,SDSF Scholarship etc. Students can also earn as companies like teachnooks search for campus ambassador where u can get a stipend of 21000. You can also works in project offered by college and get stipend.

IIT Dhanbad is best for pursuing mechanical engineering. It provides students with top-notch academic resources and amenities. Additionally, the placements are fairly decent. Every year, between 70 and 80 percent of students in the mechanical stream get placed. The former is better IIT Dhanbad was established in 1926 whereas IIT Jodhpur came in 2008. In terms of placement, faculty, ranking, and academic excellence IIT Dhanbad stays in the upper hand for pursuing mechanical engineering than IIT Jodhpur. IIT Bhubaneswar is a new IIT and was established in the year 2008. On the other hand, IIT Dhanbad is an old IIT. Being an old IIT, the academic curriculum and academic flexibility are more functional at IIT Dhanbad than any other new IIT.
Many of my friends have passed out from IIT Dhanbad who were highly satisfied with their placement considering their JEE advance ranks. In the placement drive 2020, the highest package offered to the mechanical branch at IIT Dhanbad was INR 17 lakhs per annum.
Changing your branch is comparatively easier at IIT Dhanbad. So, even if you are compromising on your branch of choice, you can get it altered to your choice once you join in.
