Which IIT is better for mechanical engineering, IIT Jodhpur or IIT Dhanbad?

IIT Bhubaneswar is a new IIT and was established in the year 2008. On the other hand, IIT Dhanbad is an old IIT. Being an old IIT, the academic curriculum and academic flexibility are more functional at IIT Dhanbad than any other new IIT. Many of my friends have passed out from IIT Dhanbad who were highly satisfied with their placement considering their JEE advance ranks. In the placement drive 2020, the highest package offered to the mechanical branch at IIT Dhanbad was INR 17 lakhs per annum. Changing your branch is comparatively easier at IIT Dhanbad. So, even if you are compromising on your branch of choice, you can get it altered to your choice once you join in. To conclude, I would suggest you go for IIT Dhanbad.

The yearly tution fees is Rs 2 lakhs and other fees which includes hostel, mess, etc is Rs 36,000 for even semester and Rs 26,000 for odd semester. So overall fees for a year is Rs 2,62,000. There is provision for fee waiver. Students whose family income is less than 1 lakhs get 100% fee waiver and students whose family income is less than 5 lakhs get 67% fee waiver.

The average fee per person is 2 lakh per year which includes 2 semesters. Students whose annual income is below 5 lakhs pay less than average according to their affordability. Many scholarships are offered by the college and fundraisers based on various criterion.

Life, Internships and Placements at IIT Dhanbad.

Per semester tution fees is 100000 and hostel and mess fees is 18000. Extra curricular fees is 20000 approximately. Scholarships are available. For instance people with income less than 1 lakh per annum can avail 100% tution fees waiver. 1-5 lakh get 66% waiver. And also merit cum means scholarships are also available.

The fee structure in my university depends on the annual income of the family. My family income falls below five lakh rupees so i get a fee waiver of 66.7% on my tution fees . Which makes my fees fall from one lakh twenty thousand to 60,000. My university offers a scholarship for students having CGPA above 6 in which the tution fees is refunded back due to which my fees becomes 26400 rupees which is the hostel fees.

The year wise payment of my fee is 80k. Tuition fee is 1lakh and hostel fee is 80k. It is basically categoried by the income certificate. If the income is below 1 lakh the tuition fee is free. And like that it is divided. There is a scholarship called merit cum means scholarship which is also based on income.
