Likes

Good college life , as mining student placement in core mining is almost guaranteed
Nice infrastructure, slightly small ,but good peeps
Nice seniors but small interactions problem specially in first year but now things are changing overtime

Dislikes

Ragging the mental pressure during first and second year
Professors are conservative and system of attendance is very strict like someone got in accedent still they were asked to drop the semester
You can see heavy regionalism here mainly becoz of so many people from east india here

Course Curriculum Overview

My course curriculum is good it's best in the whole india in mining standards , and if want I can easily opt it and live a easy life . But I think we have less opportunity and exposure if we are not interested in out respected branches

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are less this year's also females give a lot of reservation in the campus during placements and internship also if you don't get on campus internship you can try off campus or even can do internship under professor if you are intrested.

Placement Experience

Our placements are better than other colleges but not as good as other iits also due to recession the placement have declined this year , as for me I have secondary choice to prepare for gate as core companies like cil don't come to campus placement and we have to crack gate which easier for my branch as it is a rare branch in india

Fees and Financial Aid

So the total semester fees is around 1.36 lakhs with 16000 as mess fees included, we can get mcm of about 40-50 %, lately we were asked to give 300 extra to hostels if we want wifi in hostels but it's long gone now as new director from iit Delhi is coming here so all hostels are now equipped with wifi

Campus Life

As a final year student now college life was good but some times interactions were quite limited only to the club members , also I was in athletics team and I would say a person go for them as long as he/she must not take there academics to back seat as overall cgpa matters most here.

Admission

You must have 75% in PCM in boards to give jee advanced, for that you have to give jee mains , as for this college opening rank of cse for my batch was around 800-900 in jee advanced ,and for my branch it was 12000-13800 rank

Faculty

The profs are surely well educated and most of them are extremely passionate about there subjects and they push you to be good in their respective core fields , so like me who is not interested in mining I sometimes feel like as a non cs student I got disadvantage as I am forced to do training in mining.

Placements start 6th semester. Companies TCS, Wipro, Deloitte and local companies. Average package is 4 to 5 LPA. I plan to work as a full stack web developer or i will also apply off campus for better softer roles.

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are eligible for placement. Name of the company I forgot but nvidia amazon comes each year and take some students Paypal offered 4 students 28 lpa and Swiggy gave 2 students 35 lpa Nvidia gave 2 students 25 lpa Highest package data is not out as of now Avg is good this year I guess it's was 12-13 lpa Percentage is I guess reality 60/150

Raw and real side of NIT JSR

Placement Experience:

One of the major advantage of my college is it's placement percentage and average package. For my branch placement percentage is our 80% and average package of my branch is 16.5 lpa this year. Highest package last year was of 1.44 crore from a company rubirik. I plan to work in a semiconductor manufacturing company like Texas instruments and qualcomm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the course curriculum decent because it cover the basic engineering concepts that made me choose this course and it prepare us okay for real-world or higher study, but still more practical work and updated teaching method needed, and exams come mostly every semester with some internals which are moderate tough but manageable with regular study. There are some teachers who teach very well and have good teaching methods.

A Real Student Experience at DEC

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the course curriculum is okay and the basics are covered well, which is one reason I choose this branch, but some subjects feel outdated and not fully connected to real industry work. It prepare us for further studies more than practical jobs. Exams come every semester with internals in between, difficulty is moderate but few papers become tricky. I think more practical topics, updated labs and better teaching methods will make the curriculum more useful...

A Comprehensive Journey

Placement Experience:

One of my colleges best features is its placements program, which offers fantastic chances for students to launch their carrers. In the fifth and sixth semesters, students are prepared with aptitude training sessions, group discussions, and resume construction. About 85% of qualified pupils were placed during the previoes school year. Compared to core engieering fields, placements rates were marginally higher in IT branches.

All You need to know about IIT(ISM) Dhanbad

As this is an IIT, To get admission here Firstly You have to take the JEE mains exam. At our time there used to be 4 rounds of the JEE Mains exam and Your maximum percentile among all 4 would be considered for a cutoff It was around 90% and to be eligible for give JEE advance Exam. The JEE advance exam happened in July, and its results were also released in August. After Qualifying JEE Advanced exam too you have to go through JOSSA counselling. In JOSSA counselling you have to give your list of colleges priority wise and you will be allotted college based on your AIR. After JOSSA counseling of 6 rounds, you will be allotted a college and then you will receive an offer letter from a college. For me, at IIT Dhanbad after taking admission firstly we were introduced to college through an orientation session with our respected director. After this we were called to campus for pre-registration for our course there we had to submit our documents and verify our identity. That's it !!...Read More
