Alumni Network. The college being a very old college since 1926 , it has a vast alumni network. Alumni work in almost every company in the world and it helps getting referrals
The College Campus is so cozy and comfortable. The college academics are good. Has the 2nd largest technical library in the whole of Asia.
Best Hostel facilities among old IITs. Also stands at 10th rank in NIRF list of IITs

Dislikes

The mess food quality could have been better
The opening closing ranks should improve considering the college is one of the elite colleges
Sports facilities need a revamped and more focus on providing world class facilities

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is up to date. But certain areas still lacks improvement. The college Administration tries it's level best to provide good level of education and trained lab assistants make the labs note interesting.

Internships Opportunities

The internship opportunities are as good as the placements. Almost all companies have come for internship this year like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, De-Shaw, Goldmann Sachs, Samsung, Nvidia. They pay around 1.5 lakhs per annum Stipend. The overall stipend ranges from 15K to 2 lakhs

The college offers really good placement with an average of 17 Lpa and last year the highest placement went to 2.4 Cr at an UAE based company. Almost all companies like Amazon , Google, Microsoft, De-Shaw, Goldmann Sachs, Samsung, Nvidia come for placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

So in ayear I pay 2.72 Lakhs. Which means 1.36 lakhs per semester. 1 lakhs is tuition fees and 36K is the Hostel and mess fees. If you are SC/ST then you get full 100% waiver int he tuition fees and you have to pay only 36K per semester. If you belong to EWS category and your family income is significantly low (<4 lakhs) , then 2/3rd of tuition fees is waived off

Campus Life

Campus Life is very chill and amazing. Night life is definitely amazing and also a lot of club events are always going on everywhere. No one can get bored here. Their are a lot of eateries and almost everything is available in the campus premises

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facilities are definitely among the best. Till 3rd year you get double occupancy rooms and in 4th year you get single occupancy room. The Aquamarine Hostel is the biggest academic Hodge8in India that was inaugurated by Shri Narendra Modi himself.

Admission

The main reason I chose this College over other colleges are, the alumni network is amazing and very big , the college is old and reputed , the course sturcture here is better than other newer IITs. This College come in top 10 IITs list

Faculty

The Faculties are well trained. All having PHDs from Top IITs and Foreign universities including Ivy leagues. All of them are super friendly and create a great atmosphere for learning. They are very intelligent and help students in research work as well. IIT ISM Dhanbad has the best Research Paper per faculty ratio than any other IIT

Honest college review without AI

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are eligible for placement. Name of the company I forgot but nvidia amazon comes each year and take some students Paypal offered 4 students 28 lpa and Swiggy gave 2 students 35 lpa Nvidia gave 2 students 25 lpa Highest package data is not out as of now Avg is good this year I guess it's was 12-13 lpa Percentage is I guess reality 60/150

Raw and real side of NIT JSR

Placement Experience:

One of the major advantage of my college is it's placement percentage and average package. For my branch placement percentage is our 80% and average package of my branch is 16.5 lpa this year. Highest package last year was of 1.44 crore from a company rubirik. I plan to work in a semiconductor manufacturing company like Texas instruments and qualcomm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the course curriculum decent because it cover the basic engineering concepts that made me choose this course and it prepare us okay for real-world or higher study, but still more practical work and updated teaching method needed, and exams come mostly every semester with some internals which are moderate tough but manageable with regular study. There are some teachers who teach very well and have good teaching methods.

A Real Student Experience at DEC

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the course curriculum is okay and the basics are covered well, which is one reason I choose this branch, but some subjects feel outdated and not fully connected to real industry work. It prepare us for further studies more than practical jobs. Exams come every semester with internals in between, difficulty is moderate but few papers become tricky. I think more practical topics, updated labs and better teaching methods will make the curriculum more useful...

A Comprehensive Journey

Placement Experience:

One of my colleges best features is its placements program, which offers fantastic chances for students to launch their carrers. In the fifth and sixth semesters, students are prepared with aptitude training sessions, group discussions, and resume construction. About 85% of qualified pupils were placed during the previoes school year. Compared to core engieering fields, placements rates were marginally higher in IT branches.

All You need to know about IIT(ISM) Dhanbad

As this is an IIT, To get admission here Firstly You have to take the JEE mains exam. At our time there used to be 4 rounds of the JEE Mains exam and Your maximum percentile among all 4 would be considered for a cutoff It was around 90% and to be eligible for give JEE advance Exam. The JEE advance exam happened in July, and its results were also released in August. After Qualifying JEE Advanced exam too you have to go through JOSSA counselling. In JOSSA counselling you have to give your list of colleges priority wise and you will be allotted college based on your AIR. After JOSSA counseling of 6 rounds, you will be allotted a college and then you will receive an offer letter from a college. For me, at IIT Dhanbad after taking admission firstly we were introduced to college through an orientation session with our respected director. After this we were called to campus for pre-registration for our course there we had to submit our documents and verify our identity. That's it !!...Read More
