Likes

There are many trees in in campus which gives clean air and peaceful.Oval garden at Heritage Building of IIT Dhanbad is very beautiful
And Classroom are very good and luxurious and digital boards and Central library with A/C and wifi facilities
Professors are very experienced and qualified.They clear all doubts of students in a very smart way.And placements are very good.

Dislikes

Sometimes I don't like the food in hostel.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am interested in electrical engineering So I did choose Electrical Engineering.Compared to other courses Electrical Engineering is difficult. In the middle of semester mid sem is conducted.And End Sem will be conducted at the end of semester.

Internships Opportunities

There are two ways to secure an internship - • On-Campus Hiring:- These are the internships offered to students by the companies visiting the campus. • Off-Campus Hiring:- These are the internships offered to students either through LinkedIn or through personal contacts and referrals. Now, let me tell you what the students of IIT ISM get. 1. About 50% of the students start coding from there 2nd yr onwards and secure an intern at esteemed companies like Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Amazon , etc followed by a Pre-Placement Offer through On- Campus Hiring.

Placement Experience

The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad (IIT Dhanbad) has a good placement record, with many national and international companies visiting the campus for recruitment. In 2024, the placement rate for BTech and MTech was 69.97% and 54.13%, respectively. The highest placement percentage was 84% for the CSE branch.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fee per semester is 140000.And no tution fee for SC/ST students.There are scholarship available like MCM, Tution fee waiver for OBC students.NSP Scholarship is available for SC/ST Students.

Campus Life

Out technical fest is Concetto which is celebrated for 3 days with innovative ideas and technical skills.And Cultural fest is Srijan.There are many clubs like Dancing Club, Yoga, Coding, App Development,Drama, Painting, Sports, Singing,etc.

Hostel Facilities

There are two members in a room with a single Fan ,two chairs , Almirah,two lights with seperate luxurious cot.The food at my hostel is not good. But Non-Veg is provided for 3 times in a week along with sweets.

Hostel Fee: INR 19000 per year

Admission

I did choose IIT Dhanbad over other colleges because this is an IIT which is prior universities in India.The placements are good in IIT's.The students who have qualified jee advanced exam can take admission in my college.

Faculty

Faculty is always ready to help students in clearing doubts.I like our Maths Professor SP Tiwari Sir.His way of teaching is very interesting.There are 2 exams in a semester, Mid semester and end semester.They are difficult compared to other colleges.

Placement Experience:

Placements start 6th semester. Companies TCS, Wipro, Deloitte and local companies. Average package is 4 to 5 LPA. I plan to work as a full stack web developer or i will also apply off campus for better softer roles.

Honest college review without AI

Placement Experience:

From 5th sem students are eligible for placement. Name of the company I forgot but nvidia amazon comes each year and take some students Paypal offered 4 students 28 lpa and Swiggy gave 2 students 35 lpa Nvidia gave 2 students 25 lpa Highest package data is not out as of now Avg is good this year I guess it's was 12-13 lpa Percentage is I guess reality 60/150

Raw and real side of NIT JSR

Placement Experience:

One of the major advantage of my college is it's placement percentage and average package. For my branch placement percentage is our 80% and average package of my branch is 16.5 lpa this year. Highest package last year was of 1.44 crore from a company rubirik. I plan to work in a semiconductor manufacturing company like Texas instruments and qualcomm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate the course curriculum decent because it cover the basic engineering concepts that made me choose this course and it prepare us okay for real-world or higher study, but still more practical work and updated teaching method needed, and exams come mostly every semester with some internals which are moderate tough but manageable with regular study. There are some teachers who teach very well and have good teaching methods.

A Real Student Experience at DEC

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the course curriculum is okay and the basics are covered well, which is one reason I choose this branch, but some subjects feel outdated and not fully connected to real industry work. It prepare us for further studies more than practical jobs. Exams come every semester with internals in between, difficulty is moderate but few papers become tricky. I think more practical topics, updated labs and better teaching methods will make the curriculum more useful...

A Comprehensive Journey

Placement Experience:

One of my colleges best features is its placements program, which offers fantastic chances for students to launch their carrers. In the fifth and sixth semesters, students are prepared with aptitude training sessions, group discussions, and resume construction. About 85% of qualified pupils were placed during the previoes school year. Compared to core engieering fields, placements rates were marginally higher in IT branches.

All You need to know about IIT(ISM) Dhanbad

As this is an IIT, To get admission here Firstly You have to take the JEE mains exam. At our time there used to be 4 rounds of the JEE Mains exam and Your maximum percentile among all 4 would be considered for a cutoff It was around 90% and to be eligible for give JEE advance Exam. The JEE advance exam happened in July, and its results were also released in August. After Qualifying JEE Advanced exam too you have to go through JOSSA counselling. In JOSSA counselling you have to give your list of colleges priority wise and you will be allotted college based on your AIR. After JOSSA counseling of 6 rounds, you will be allotted a college and then you will receive an offer letter from a college. For me, at IIT Dhanbad after taking admission firstly we were introduced to college through an orientation session with our respected director.
