It's a beautiful campus and well reputed university and the teaching staff is great with good experience
Every faculty members are not perfect but mostly are enough good with teacher and student bonding mind-blowing i can praise every staff members as well professors whose role is shaping students future wow
The hostels are quite decent and the food quality is also good.

THE 2ND CONS WILL BE ABOUT THE CAMPUS. SMOKING IS BAN IN CAMPUS BUT SOME CANTEENS SELL IT ILLEGALY WHICH IS NOT GOOD. 2. SOME CASES OF RAGING ARE ALSO SHOWN TIME TO TIME
In Jamia there is so many courses but the management for all courses are not enough good. Administration should take action regarding all the courses. Nowadays in jamia the management is going slow down. I mean it not effective in favour of students.
I don't like to Cheers of my university,and there are lots of things which have no importance of using in jamia Millia Islamia University and there are lots of disturbance in reading hall of jamia

it is second best university that offer this course at this affordable price.it is second best in list but provise all best facility and surrounding to grow you well.
the course structure is worth the money.there are many camera that costed in lakhs that provide the hand to handel then .it is a golden chance to utilize your time and money.
it has best faculty .there are professors who are well taught and are reknowed like Sohini Gosh.they provide every student to voice up their thoughts.

Dislikes

it is good and worth for money but has very high cost according to the sturcture of central university .compared to private media collages it has connection with other industry directly but not worthy in that term because not offer to the student.
it has no placement opportunity.it is competitive in nature and JMI provide no in cell placement service.no company visits the campus for placement.
there is more focus no theortical knowledge but that course is more about practical work .no theory is needed to pratice this course.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the program includes couses that is besd on media theories ,communication research ,and the other roles that are related to media in the society.providing a strong academic foundation.in this course student are more focused on film making...the art of showing things on big screen .it has other various subject related to digital media .there are some specilised course for journalism that has all core subject related to that only.overall this course is more focused on the element related to film making.

The kind of intellectual environment which is provided in the university
Campus life is vibrant and the one which eill make you grow

I choose this course as i did have interest in this subject. Also my course give me insight into the present world deeper philosophies like capitalism, socialism Teaching methods in the course can be make bettere by including some kind of practicality

My Honest Experience with Jamia Millia Islamia - The good and the bad

Likes

The college has a beautiful environment both in terms of nature and people.
Canteens are good. Everything from snacks to main course is available for cheap price.
College has good infrastructure in terms of classrooms, libraries, reading rooms etc.

Dislikes

Lack of cleanliness in the campus, especially in the canteen area.
Less than enough student oriented activities.
The curriculum of the courses needs to be updated.

Course Curriculum Overview:

During my master's, I felt that the curriculum for some of the papers should have been updated. The curriculum was heavily theoretical. Less emphasis on real-world applications even in the practical classes. They should introduce modern books and softwares for courses such as data analytics with R and Stata. It would be better if they can focus on real-world projects. There were usually two exams in each semester. Sessionals and finals exams. The difficulty level was normal.

Journey as a Jamia student

Likes

Faculty of sociology is very nice as they are so sweet and always helpful.. they treat u very nicely.
The office staff is also very nice and very helpful.
The infrastructure of the campus is nice and lawns are nice and maintanence is fine

Dislikes

The food of campus canteen is don't like much..
Co-curricular activities are very less and more oriented for studies which is again a good thing
Washroom hand dispenser they are always got stolen.

Course Curriculum Overview:

They teach us like each and every concept engage us and classes are very interactive.. and reading books like original is one thing is like that they prefer us to read originals . And they need improvement in terms of classes infrastructure smart boards and projects are needed.

Rewiring the stigma about Jamia

Likes

The subject expertise of the faculty members in their relevant field of study and they are very much approachable.
A very beautiful campus, with places buzzing with amalgamation of different cultures and richness of givings and intakes.
A very rich library and an atmosphere where everyone you meet are goal oriented and much into research. The intellectual spirit!

Dislikes

Poor sanitation facilities in atleast some of the departments.
Lengthy and lagging administrative procedures.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The mathematical background that the course has is the main thing that attracted me towards this particular course. Also, the department provides a variety of cbcs courses and optionals to tailor out the curriculum according to our tastes. The faculty members always encourage us to go beyond the course framework and work on research papers and even provide co authorships. One area that needs to be improved is the inclusion of dissertation in the master's programme for economics. Also a six month semester is wound up in almost 5 months.

Good environment and we have many places to study
As we have light syllabus, we have more time for eztra curricular activities
Some of the faculties are very helpful and supportive

Dislikes

Destroying infrastructure as the university got stopped funding
Jamia is widely spreaded in many gates. Each department is in each gates.
Our psychology department is very small and no enough classrooms are there

The course curriculum is very less. Jamia have outdated syllabus for Psychology. There is only a specialization comes in the third semester. But the compulsory two montha field work internshipnte is effective. It is a beginning for the preparation for us for the real world applications. But in Jamia we have many time for preparing for other competitive examinations for higher studies. Exams and teaching methods are good.

WHY PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION FROM JAMIA?

Likes

Faculty members are very qualified and renowned scholars which gave us a good connection and knowledge
The office staff is very helpful you will get full support regarding any query and documentation
Classrooms are very neat and clean and campus is very beautiful and full of greenery

Dislikes

Placement cell is not much of efficient which can be improved
Menus in canteen are limited so limited choice to eat
Class timings are so hectic this can be improved by giving more break in between

Placement Experience:

Student of last semester is eligible for placement last year various ngos and corporate companies visted eg. smile foundation and Infosys and torrent . There was only 4 students sit for placement and 3 of them placement. Mostly students don't sit for placement instead they enrolled themselves in phds and various government jobs.. im planning for phd for abroad.

Jamia's Ambience

Likes

I love the faculty. They are very interactive and understanding.
Students are amazing, they're inteligent, they speak their heart out and they force you to study and speak.
Canteens are great and affordable. Hostels are amazing.

Dislikes

The academic procedure is hectic. You need to be very patient.
Hostel procedure is lengthy. They reject your application over smaller issues.
In our department they don't hace AC's or smart boards.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I love literature and wanted to know more about it and the curriculum and syllabus is great. There's hint of everything. You have poetry, fiction, non-fiction, American Literature, Indian Writing in English. It's a blend of everything you need to know. The curriculum prepares you for competitive exams and real world issues. You come to a better understanding of society and your mind expands to a better level of understanding. I don't find any flaws in the curriculum. Exams take place twice per year. Besides that internal assessment is there. They're not that difficult, they basically want to know your understanding of the problem and how you analyse the situation.

I liked the secular and revolutionary environment of my university
I liked the cooperative societies and students union who play a significant role in University against any missing by adminstration
I liked the dedicated faculties of every department who work very hard for students to get good opportunities

Dislikes

I even do not like the hostel administration they Provide low quality food to residents

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did a bachelors and masters in psychology which was a wise decision. I've learned a lot. Specific courses like criminology and rehabilitation psychology being a part of the curriculum influenced my decision for sure. The teachings are comprehensive and it has prepared for the real world. The exams are really really easy if you study well, the professors ask questions which were asked in the previous years.
