Dislikes
- Placement cell is not much of efficient which can be improved
- Menus in canteen are limited so limited choice to eat
- Class timings are so hectic this can be improved by giving more break in between
Course Curriculum Overview
Masters in public administration is much professional oriented course it involves papers like organisational behaviour , personal management and corporate governance and laws which is very relevant in modern times. Teaching methods is very comprehensive it involves various assessments.. exam are generally held in may and December month .. exams are not much hard but you have to perform good in order to get good marks
Internships Opportunities
Internship with various ngos and government organisations like NHRC , Ministry of Health and Smile foundation . Role it to understand the administration functions of various organisations and public policy analysis
Placement Experience
Student of last semester is eligible for placement last year various ngos and corporate companies visted eg. smile foundation and Infosys and torrent . There was only 4 students sit for placement and 3 of them placement. Mostly students don't sit for placement instead they enrolled themselves in phds and various government jobs.. im planning for phd for abroad.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees for first year is 7425 which includes 1100 as tution fee , 1000 examination fee and 100 admission fee and 500 library caution money . 300 as lab fee and 600 games fee and 3825 as other charges total about 7425 and for second year it is 6900 .. fees for all categories is same .. if you top your class with 1,2,3 rank then you will be awarded scholarships of 2500, 1500 , 700 respectively
Campus Life
Campus environment is very social and joyful.. in my department every there is a fest fikr-o- fun. We have an zakir hussain library which have about more than 2 laks books and we also get e library to various journals and books..for students indoor stadium facilities are there.. there various plenty of clubs and societies which is run by students
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities provide by Jamia .. a sharing room with three students.. fully furnished and three times meal a day . Both veg and non veg daily .. paneer chiken sweets etc.. there is interview for hostel accommodation .. pg and flats are easily available in nearby areas which range about 6-7 k per month
Admission
I want to do masters in public administration the jamia is the only college in delhi which provides masters in public administration and the faculty here is expert in the field of public administration so i decided to study here apart from this i looked other colleges but the faculty of political science is teaching public administration which is not fair for public administration.. Admission process involves entrance exam by jamia itself which is of 100 questions and cutoff is about 40-50 marks
Faculty
In department me political science there is 5 professors for public administration which teaches two batches of ma public administration total strength is about 80 .. and faculty member are very active academicans one of my professors is chair in America society for public administration and have very good connections is various organisations related to public administration which is very beneficial to us and helps in writing research and publications. Exam system in my course is semester system which involves internal and external exams .. internal is of 25 marks and which includes test presentations and assignments which external is of 75 theory paper
