Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is 100% relevant and practical. There are practical skills that are also provided and there are regular workshops and seminars conducted to equip students with such tools and software skills
Internships Opportunities
There are internship drives conducted here for securing internships. These include companies like Axtria, RBI, Ministry of Commerce and Statistics. Many corporate companies like Big 4 are also a part of this drive.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible second year onwards for campus placements. Some of the companies that visit the campus include, American Express, Big4, MXV Consulting etc. Highest package is 25LPA . I aim to secure a placement after my course.
Fees and Financial Aid
Year wise fee is 1.18lakhs Tuition fee involves the major component. The fee for other categories remains the same irrespective of the category they are from. There are no scholarships available. Everyone pays the same amount.
Campus Life
There are only 4 major clubs at IIFT including the Economics Association, IFSA, Analytics Club and the Placement Cell. campus life is minimal here because of few number of students and only 2 courses being available here. There is one annual fest as well.
Admission
I applied for Delhi School of Economics, IIT Madras, Gokhale Institute of Politicial Economics. I chose IIFT over all of them majorly because of the practical knowledge that it provides and the fact that it is so closely associated with ministry of commerce. I was selected in all colleges I applied including GIPE, IIT Madras, DSE, IPU, APU, JMI etc. the admission process for IIFT D involves an entrance exam and a interview round
Faculty
There are around 15 faculties, and around 70 students in each batch. There are two campus, one in Delhi and the other in Kolkata. Each branch has 70 students per batch. So total 140 students per year. All faculties are extremely good.
Interview Experience
Yes, there was an interview that I had to appear for which included Economics specific questions only. There was nothing asked from my personal life and my work experience. It was purely an academic and economics based interview. I prepared for these rounds using my domain knowledge that was taught to me during my undergraduation.
