My honest review of DAV COLLEGE ,10 Chandigarh :“ Academics, campus & life”

Likes

Good environment- positive and peaceful environment, suitable for studies
Events and activities-cultural events, fests and competitions are regularly organised
Teachers are knowledgeable and good at explaining

Dislikes

Smaller campus space area is limited compared to other colleges
Less strict environment, discipline could be improved
Limited infrastructure, space constraints, expansion limited

Admission:

I applied to PGGC11 . I initially got admsiion INTO PGGC 11 but by that time I had already secured admission into DAV COLLEGE I. Since the offer from PGGC 11 came later, I decided to continue with DAV COLLEGE. BETTER BECAUSE- Better overall environment Active student life with regular events Good teaching quality Convenient location and familiarity I did not face any rejections from any college. DAV COLLEGE admission process Merit based > Based on qualifying examination marks as per Punjab university guidelines > Cutoffs depend on course and category > Smooth and well organised process. Overall I am satisfied with my decision to join DAV COLLEGE, Chandigarh

Real And Raw

Likes

Social Interaction and not extra stress given to student for their academics.
Sports and cultural event happen almost every week
You'll find each and every type of master in college , like sports , academics , NCC ,NSS . Also they have very huge cricket ground , hand ball ground , baskteball court , volleyball court, sports complex (badminton courts , shooting range)

Dislikes

not proper care of infrastructure especially the sports infrastructure .

Admission:

I have apllied for DU but delhi was far away from my hometown i didn't choose DU , for this college I have keen interest in sports and in militry and the great alumni have attracted me for this college. You have to fill a form after that you will get the notification through mail for physical councelling and completion of physical councelling you will get payment link of whole year fee on your mail id within a week and after that you are enrolled . Anyone above 70% in 12 can get seat in the courses and the overall admission experience is smooth if you have your document ready.

I liked their campus including the canteens as they have introduced a variety of options for the students
I like the faculties they are really excellent at clearing the doubts in the simplest way possible though some are strict but overall good
I really their security by which I mean that the guards properly check the icard before letting someone come inside the campus

Dislikes

I disliked their classroom structures as many roofs are leaking and broken and once a tile from the roof fell during the class which is really risky for everyone

Admission:

The admission process was easy and had to fill online form which was very convenient. My goal was to take admission in this college only and never thought of anything else and I was successful in doing so. The cutoff for my course i.e. BCom was around 96% this year. I scored 96.2% in 12th grade and during the admission process my merit became 104.2% because they gave 8% addition for Maths subject

Life in Post graduate government college, chandigarh

Likes

I like the infrastructure of our college, there are lots of garden and food corners
Faculty of the college is really nice and helpful, they teach very well
Student council is very hardworking, they are always ready to help others out

Dislikes

Auditorium of the college is not good, it's in very poor condition
Few classrooms have leakage especially in the rainy season
Girls washrooms are less in comparison to boys washroom

Admission:

I applied for Delhi University and Panjab University as well, unfortunately I was not selected in DU but I got my name in 1st merit list for PU, but I was not selected for hostel merit list, so my other option was this college, syllabus is also similar to PU and faculty is also well experienced, so it's not very much different from PU

I like that discipline in the college is same as like the schools.
Teachers are very co-operative and humble.
Environment is really very peaceful and adequate for study.

Dislikes

Fees seems little bit higher, I think so.

Admission:

Actually as I told earlier I chose this college (Master tara Singh memorial college for women) because of my bachelor degree. I didn't apply for any other colleges for pursuing post graduation because I feel familiar to this college.

Teachers are very highly qualified and come from even IITs
There is a huge diversity in the college like you will see almost every state
The fees is very affordable to any of the category

Dislikes

The college is not located in the city area
The college campus is small like few blocks
There are only 3 blocks and civil engineering and many more domain are absent

Admission:

Firstly this college is almost comparable to various renowned colleges talking honestly this was the best i could get with the JEE rank i would say if you have good rank prefer nits don't come here rest you can for backup

I feel good when I am in college all the staff like out family which is teaches us lovingly
The campus has many activities and I participated in all the activities
The college campus hai maximum councils and NCC, NSS , Student council etc and other many social welfare departments are there

Dislikes

My experience all college is good I have no dislike thing

I choose this government college because I like it's fee structure, well experienced faculty, nice campus , organised campus and many other social welfare departments are there and many other councils are their like NSS,NCC, STUDENT COUNCIL . Admission Process is through onlineofe and cut off list is also show online

Sri guru gobind singh college: More Than Just a Degree

Likes

All the teachers here are very supportive, and they clarify our doubts every time we ask them And they also support us a lot in our outside activities.
If you are interested in sports then the teachers will help you a lot And if you miss a class So if you ask, the teachers will explain it to you again in a better way but you have to focus
The canteen here is very clean And the campus is also very good, it is open and has a lot of area where you can sit with your friends and chill in your free time

Dislikes

Elections are not liked here because elections lead to a lot of fights and quarrel It has a huge impact on our studies too
The parking here is outside and the people who provide the parking charge quite a lot.

Likes

It’s good it you want leverage with attendance. They are lenient in that point .
If you want to enjoy freeness and bunk lectures then also it’s not really strict.

Dislikes

Bad canteen , smelly food , internet doesnt work in canteen
More than half of the kids sit around the campus free canteen is fully occupied with students sitting free bunking
Bad infrastructure. Fans dont work properly. Benches have nails sticking out of them .

I thought that this college was better in infrastructure, faculty , campus life , students . But perhaps i was wrong about it . It is worse than other Colleges . Lacks basic facilities.i applied is sd college , didnt get admission because my cut off went off by 2 percent , later they just gave admissions through referrals which i didnt have . If you have got 80 plus percent in boards you will get into here . Easily .

Likes

Overall position of the college including the facilities provided by Government
Highly Experienced Faculty with knowledge of every field
Motivating Environment provided by the various competitions held in the college

Dislikes

Timings of the college are strict which sometimes becomes boring
Lack of entertainment functions like Dj parties
Little bit discomfort of private attention from teachers due to numerous students

First of all this college is most renowned college of the Tricity and Being Government aided College it has it own importance . And if anyone of students is getting admission in this college , no one would have deny the opportunity. I have got admission in other colleges too but I preferred this college for its various facilities provided. For admission process you have to apply via centralised admission portal where you get the admission on the basis of your merit which is a sound method according to me. It's the most preferred college and hence there is a high cutoff for the admission but still I make it to this college and I felt my decision taking admission in this as a life changing experience.
