Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum of b.com is quite decent, it's neither too different not too easy but you can manage it along with your University life , the exams are held twice in a year and level of exam is quite decent.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 12000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fee when I joined b.com was around 10k but every year It's been increasing, you can apply for various scholarships,I also availed scholarship in my 1st year of graduation, the exam fees is taken separately

Campus Life

Various fests are held in winters in Jan to march , various singers are invited and concerts are held , University had a massive Library having tonnes of books for a reading enthusiast, in month of July to September there is a season of student elections in the campus that is a quite good phase in your University life

Admission

Panjab University campus is all rounder either in case of studies or any other fun activities or sports activities, it never disappointed me , It has a very good position in Chandigarh, everything is available in the campus including dispensary, market , grounds, chill places etc.

Faculty

The b.com class had around 70-80 students and Every subject is taught by different professors and all the teachers are supportive, I personally like Monika ma'am , she is the one the best teacher I ever met

Night Life

There is no restriction for students in hostel, you can enter and exit anytime , I really enjoyed the nightlife in the campus, the starry nights at Gandhi bhawan with a cup of tea had various memories left with us , you can hangout in whole campus at night , it is Fully secure and joyful

The course curriculum is relevant and fairly comprehensive. Well defined syllabus with core subjects included. Balanced focus on theory and academic learning. Suitable for students aiming for higher studies. The curriculum prepares students well for post graduate studies and entrance exam.exposure to practical and industry oriented applications is limited. AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT- Inclusion of skill based and industry relevant modules. Greater use of interactive teaching methods. More guest lectures and workshops. Exams are conducted semester wise with internal assessments. Moderate difficulty. Questions are syllabus based and predictable

First SEM Experience

Placement Experience:

Around 80-90% of the students get placed in my course. The average package is 3LPA - 5LPA. This college has a decent placement record. The highest package offered is 7.6LPA. Companies like Google , Deloitte , Amazon , Infosys , Wipro , etc. come to the campus to pick excellent students for their company. The college also has a dedicated placement cell which helps the students to prepare for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is not hard ofcourse but it's pretty old fashioned and non modernistic . No technology inculcation in the curriculum. Difficulty level is not much . There should be modernisation of the curriculum. More technology inclusion . More tech based learning . More practical education.

THE LIFE AT DAV COLLEGE

Placement Experience:

We do have a training and placement cell which is run mostly run by both students and teachers. Students with good percentile can sit for placements and can get place into companies which are mostly from BPO and sales background. Students are eligible for campus placements in their 5th semester. Companies which have came in our college in 2024-2025 are Sri ram insurance , Kotak insurance , Planet spark , De shaw , Zomato etc. Highest package offered is around 5 LPA and average package is around 1.5 LPA. I have planned to go for higher studies after my graduation, most probably I will be doing MBA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Application for this college is easy process. You just need to fill a form from dhe.chd.gov.in for which you have to pay very nominal fee ( i paid 70rs in 2023). Teaching methods are okay.likr there's so such thing that college is in Chandigarh so better teachers or something.
