Library collection is great, make best use of it in the five years that you are here.
Extra curriculars like moots, mediation and negotiation competitions here are immaculate.

Admission:

I didn't apply to any other college after CLAT because UILS has really good reviews over all as a law college esp. in Punjab and regions around it. I don't regret coming here, as there are opportunities which if taken good advantage of, can take us to places. We need to give an entrance test, in order to enter the college. 50 percent weightage is for grade 12 percentage and the remaining is for the entrance test marks. The test is of 100 marks compromising of static GK, analytical reasoning and English. Cut off is usually above 70 for general category.

Panjab university - best of all choices ?

Admission:

I applied to indraprasth college of delhi , gave clat and many other law exams . Still prefered to choose uils , Panjab University as its close to my house plus the adaptation level would be lesss as compared to other Nlus Eligibilty - 12 th pass candidate can apply

Student elections for department representatives
The moot court sessions that help to get a close understanding.

Dislikes

There are less rooms available for students and two classes are put in another building
The minimum attendance required that is 70 percentage

Admission:

The admission process for my college requires ab aptitude test of 100 marks with 100 one mark questions and negative marking of .25. After the test, the calculation of ranks is done based on 50 percent of marks scored in 12 th exams and 50 percent of marks in aptitude test. Normally , the cutoff goes to 74 but this year it was 75

Likes

Various events, competitions like Moot courts, Med-Neg competitions, Debates, etc. are organised over the year
Senior-Junior bonding and mentoring culture is vert good.

Dislikes

The infrastructure is not at par with the fees they charge.
The administration is not as efficient working as it should be

Admission:

I applied in almost all other prestigious law collges as well including Govt. And Private institutions and got selected in almost all of them (excluding NLU's). There wasn't really an issue with the finances or colleges, but due to some personal factors to stay close to my hometown, I had to choose UILS.

Life of a law student at Panjab University

Dislikes

Infrastructure of the college is average. There are no air conditioners in the classrooms and it is very difficult

Admission:

A separate entrance exam takes place every year for the admission in college. Students has to fill the application for available on the college website and pay a nominal fees of around 1500 for the entrance exams. Entrance exam takes place offline in the main campus of Panjab University in Chandigarh. Both the marks of 12th class and the marks of entrance exam are considered equally while calculating the rank of a student and after that counselling and admission process takes place. One area of improvement is that there should less number of reservations and introduction of interviews for the admission process to attract better crowd.

Life at UILS, PU Chandigarh

Likes

The University campus provides us with great exposure as well teaches us various skills
Various competitions are organised so as to provide practical knowledge as well as to help in building network

Dislikes

Elections in the department causes a bit of chaos
Most of the students are inclined towards judiciary or civil services and no new career choices are even offered to the students

Admission:

The admission process is very easy as the official website itself provides students with most of the information and also the examination for entrance is held in a very accessible manner, however the department can make improvement by making the process more transparent

There's a CET for admission to bcom/ba LLB 5 yr course at Uils, Panjab University. 50% marks of CET and 50% of your class 12 board marks are added together to determine the merit list. If you had any commerce subject in class 12, you'll have extra weightage for the BCom llb merit list. Subjects like maths, accountancy, business studies, and economics.

UILS Review

Admission:

Earlier the counseling was held offline but sure to COVID-19???????? our counselling held online on meeting platform Cisco Webex. There were about three hundred students who were attending the counselling session. Our mentor at that was Ms.Pushpinder mam and she was very supportive such that its seems like friendly session.

UILS- Make efforts and the world will be yours!!

Admission:

I didn't avail any quota.UILS used to conduct the Entrance Examination for admission but due to Covid, our admission was based on our merit in the 12th class. Earlier the counselling was held offline but due to Covid our counselling was held online on "Cisco WebEx". There were about 300 students who were attending the counselling. My admission counsellor was Pushpinder Ma'am and she was supportive from the very beginning. She was probably one of my best mentors and we used to talk for 20-30 minutes straight, not just about the admissions and academics, but also about some other interesting things. It was a very good experience for me.

Journey of a lawyer in UILS

Admission:

The other colleges I applied to were army institute of law I did not attend because I got admission to UILS PU I am from general category admission criteria usually is entrance but for our batch, it was based on class 12 CBSE marks on the day of counseling everyone had to be punctual to the time allotted students had to switch on the camera and then they had to verify the details name merit score and attendance was recorded after all this was done student could leave the meeting.
