Here the faculty is very nice they are ready help when students need there help
Here placements is so good and many top companies are approaching to the college students here having good opportunity for the placements average placements is about 13lakhs per annual combining all branches
Many scholarships like fcc, nsp and others are student welfare related and do help the students alot.

Dislikes

Scholarship are there for weak section of society.. my fees is somewhat between 140000 to 150000 years as i didn't receive any scholarship or anything.
The hostel facility is not that great, there is a food problem in terms of taste and water problem in terms of hygiene, there are some issues with the internet also.
The attendance criteria is really strict and the behaviour of the professors are not good

NIT SILCHAR campus tour for students

Likes

Vast area campus of 650 acres and around 12 lakes , good weather.
Good infrastructure and resources available round the clock.
Almost all extracurricular activity clubs are there to join.

Dislikes

We have to walk to classes which is around 2 km from hostels.
Campus is located in remote area where there is less connectivity to big cities.
There is no cleanliness nearby campus where people always chew pans and spit on the roads.

Placement Experience:

Placements are the best things in this college there is 100% placements for the students who are eligible for the placements. From the final year of the college i.e 7 th semester you are eligible to sit for the campus interviews but the prerequisite is that you should have atleast 6.0 CGPA. Highest package offered is around 50 LPA and average package offered is 9 LPA . Most of the reputed companies like HPCL, BPCL, ONGC, BEL , almost all of the maharatna companies and navaratna companies visit campus and offer jobs, Also there are many software companies like IBM, OPTUM UHG, TCS, INFOSYS, CAPGEMINI ETC visit and offer jobs. Students should have done atleast 3 internships before sitting for the placements. Most of the students get selected in campus placements rest plan to pursue higher studies like MBA, MSC etc from reputed institutes.

A college more than a college

Likes

The campus is large (625 acres) with greenery and have all facilities that a college must have.
Seniors are preety good and they help juniors when someone faces problem regarding anything.We call our seniors as bhaiya/didi not sir/mam.
The placements are good and many big companies also visit our campus.

Dislikes

Girls to boys ratio is not much good in our college as usual.
College life is hectic as class starts at 8 am and sometimes end after 5 pm.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are pretty good at Nit Silchar and some of the big companies like Amazon ,Google , Adobe, Mahindra etc. visit our college. In 2024 the highest package was 53 lpa with 13.5 lpa average (all branches )which was 80 lpa in 2023.

The college supports all types of cultural activities and celebrates all types of religious festivals, which helps us to learn different types of cultures of our Nation.
The campus of our college consists of a large area of about 600 acres, which is filled with well maintained greeneries and signifies a symbol of cleanliness and natural beauty. The interactions with our seniors is good and they are very supportive.
Our college is filled up with lots of dedicated and helpful teaches. They provides us education in both theoretical and practical methods along with providing the best things. The college provides us faculty advisors which acts as mentorship for us.

Dislikes

There is a little issue in the provision of place for accommodation for the outside students during inter college fests and competitions.
There is also issue of poor internet connection in the college campus.
The area in which our college campus is established is not such developed.

Placement Experience:

We are eligible for campus placements after the completion of our third year. Before that we can get summer internship after the completion of second year. There are various which reach our college for campus placements some of them are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, Paypal, Walmart, Cisco and many more companies. The highest package offer was 80 lakh per year. And the average package is 14 lakh per year. The placement percentage of our college is 89.4 which is the good placement percentage. My plans after getting degree is to in top IT company.

Unveiling NIT Silchar: from students prespective

Likes

The seniors are very friendly and supportive .They are ready for any kind of help needed to us and guide us in every situtation.
The professors are very educated and friendly.They are always ready to help us .
The environment is very clean and green.There are 25 lakes in our college and all are very clean and one of the attractive spot in the college.

Dislikes

The girls to boys ratio is 1:3 which is very bad for boys as there is 3 boys for 1 girl.
The internet connectivity is not good as the college lies in the outskirt of Silchar.
The food quality is average ,not good not much bad only eatable.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is good. The internship is also very good. The training and placement cell is working very hard to fulfil the demands of students. Frome the 5th semester onwards ,the students are eligible for campus internships and from 7th semester onwards they are eligible for campus placements. This year more than 200 companies visited Nit silchar more than 800 offers were given by the companies to the students. This year the highest package is 60 lpa and the average package is 15lpa. More than 85% students got placed this year. I am also planning to get job in big giants like google , microsoft, atlassian, amazon, etc.

A Brief review of my college NIT silchar.

Likes

it has very big campus which is good for wondering around and walking.
it has many sports facility for everyone so that we can play sports of our own needs.
goods professor that helps you study well and pass through your exams

Dislikes

sometimes there is a bit of water issue thats what i think they should improve.
personally i think mess food quality can be improved more for a good institute like this.
weather there sometimes is a bit rough to handle.

Placement Experience:

i think placement are pretty good here, i heard many students getting high package placements , i believe everyone gonna get their placement if nothing goes wrong for you in your academic career, just choose a good branch for more better placements.

NIT Silchar college life

Likes

Campus ‚lakes all around and greenery in college
Grounds - football basket ball cricket handball
Hostel 7 canteen for both day and night and climate

Dislikes

Library is not open for 24 hours ‚opens during class hours only.
Poor connectivity to other larger cities.
Non availability of basic items nearby college you have to go 8 km far from college

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are awesome for this year if you really prepared for it even for core branches It is very easy from here to grab a job if you have average skills and communication skills. More than 90 percent students from all branches get placements on normal years. From 7 th semester companies start to visit campus and student got placed every year.

MY PRECIUS 4 YEARS

Likes

The Hostel Mess quality was good as comapre to other which I experienced earlier days . They provide both Veg and Non-Veg food as per need. Sneaks are also good
Professors are good and supportive towards our need anr future goals. And provide proper guidence to us
Seniors are also very polite and help towards our needs and support also. They also give us proper guidence to us

Dislikes

We have maintain a attendance criteria of 75% in claases for the appearence in the upcoming exams.
We have our classe from 8:00 am morning to the 5:00pm in evening . It was very heptic shedule for us to maintain our daily routine
The facilities in the classes are very old and not advanceed as compare to todays tecchnologies

Placement Experience:

There was decent placement records in college with an average of10 lakh . Here 7 and 8 semester students are eligible for placements. Companies like L&T, TCS, Mahindra, and many more. Highest package of last year 55 lakh of EI department

Availability of different sports facilities.
Helpful Seniors and a network of teachers with huge achievements.

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the college is too outdated.
Lack of surrounding facilities outside the campus.

Placement Experience:

Very big giants like Nvidia, Amazon, Google, Oracle, Tata motors, HP and a huge number of other companies visit the college in the placement season. There is a very my placement ratio. I am most likely to take a job after completion of the course

Gate of our college is not good and pond and lake of our college in not clean.

NIT Silchar is a prestigious engineering college that imparts quality education in various fields. However, the PG courses aren't very well-known and only the UG courses have gained fame over time. It is therefore advisable to check the profiles of the teachers in the respective department.

Additionally, NIT Silchar is located in a remote location and you might find it difficult to procure your equipment for projects. MTech depends on the quality of the research and project you have completed and if you fail to accomplish it your MTech degree is invaluable.

Most companies visiting NIT Silchar prefer BTech students to MTech students. So getting a good job let alone a core job is very difficult here. The institute has no international ties so your future prospects may narrow down further.

Consider all the above factors before making your final decision!
